I am hoping to help other people that are living the Nomad or Van life style
I have been working at this since 2017
I don't claim to be an expert by any means
But I have been thru 3 out of 5 vehicles successfully
2 vehicles were complete rip offs - caviat emptor ( let the buyer beware )
In the past few years , people have asked about my solar power system
Anyone can do it , it's not rocket science
Also will post some mechanical videos
I help my friends keep things running when I can
As I progress, I will try to create more vehicles like mine
I actually love mechanic work, and have fun most of the time figuring new or OLD stuff out
Hopefully this channel will be entertaining as well as a tutorial

I have been waiting to do this easy repair Getting the tranny back together was the primary fix My laptop had a major power failure 😭 the power plug to the motherboard dislodged- BROKE So I will be making a video on my old PZcomputing UA-cam page I still could , but usually don't do computer home repair anymore But without my laptop I can't do my editing 😔

Today was way too hot for me But I had to get some stuff done I didnt feel like working under the truck sweating The rust that falls is so annoying on sweaty skin :( So since my trick with the Zip ties worked I was able to assemble the rest of the inside of the tranny , YAY!

I think I finally caught up with the videos I made this week The work is taking a backseat to trying to get footage to post I need to even that out a bit But as long as things keep moving forward , I'm satisfied She'll run soon and hopefully I'll get better gas mileage also I never got more than 10mpg even when I first got her But I also have a throttle body mod to do and getting that O2 sensor...

Having this old of a vehicle requires constant maintenance Metal last a ggof long time , but rust never sleeps I have the original fuel lines in this truck , so before I start it again I HAVE to make sure I'm not pumping fuel out all over the place SO , I will be checking the fuel lines Feed and Return, more videos Any way I still also have to repair the brokrn bolt in thr rear yoke Hmmm, will ...

On a lowest of LOW budgets I need to do as much FREE stuff as I can This rebuild is somewhere in the $600 range Between tooling and parts so far Not bad considering I bought a whole other transmission to boot

It feels like its taking forever And it is Every thing I do I do it twice or 3 times to make sure its correct A half hour job can take hours as I measure , check , take it back apart and do it again But I would rather takes weeka and have Bertha running smooth than having something else go wrong with her

I hate not having my laptop for editing
I had the sister vehicle (2006 Ford Freestyle). Its alternator went out during a trip to Michigan in 2012, about 5 hours from my home. Thankfully, I was able to get a boost to get it running long enough to make it to a Ford dealer in Frankenmuth, where they swapped it out with a rebuilt one. It cost me $350.00 including a new battery, which I thought was good value for a dealership.
Yes , absolutely great deal for a dealership Then they turned around, rebuilt it original, and sold it for $300 or more And probably even got a tax break on top of that 😲🤔😵💫😵
@AsymmetricAuto As mentioned, I live a few hours away (on the other side of the border). We were on our way home from a family holiday in Michigan's UP. I was grateful that it happened near a garage that was able to sort it out in half a day at a fair price, as I had few options.
Ford would've been better off placing the 500 body atop the 2005+ Mustang and call it good

You should have use a nut buster. FOR REAL. that or just hack saw them off and weld on new bolts later. ALSO fill the tank with water to the top before. that or purge with some argon or nitrogen.
I was hoping to not break the strap bolts But the old style hangers were easier and easily replaceable , so the eye bolt repair is preferable to me And the flames were never touching the tanks , I was firing the outside edge of the nuts mostly to melt in lubricants

Take your time mate i love these old fords had a few in my day here in Australia 1966 XR-289.1968-XT-302, 1970 XW-351 love the body shapes the way the doors close good solid Fords not so much computer stuff
Yeah, I am not a fan of electronics on a mechanical machine "engine" All it does is add problems to a simple running machine... I prefer before 1973 vehicles , NO electronic nightmares

This is the whole reason I'm looking to buy a brand new Chevy Express Cargo Van extended but it has to have the 6.6 l V8. That's where I'm running into problems finding a 6.6 l extended van Chevy Express is a true unicorn I don't really care if it's a 3/4 ton or a 1 ton van but they are impossible to find.
I'd prefer a 1 ton for the suspension boost, unless you're carrying no weight, of course it won't matter
I am the current owner of this van. I’m turning it into a camper, runs great, but more work to do.😎
