    Very interesting conversation as you guys really dig through the possibilities and implications of AI, culture, society, etc. on the existence of humanity past, present, and future. Lots of thought provoking ideas. Definitely going to need a bigger "hour" glass, lol. But I did stick around through the whole episode! I myself am creative, though as it was mentioned everyone really is a creative, as was also brought to my attention by a great book called The Artisan Soul. I started out in traditional art, but also found digital art, which has become my career. But I definitely still do love to work with my hands and build things. And I think there is always going to be a part of us that desires something authentically human. I do think that AI will have many applications across so many different aspects of life, but I also think that there are some things that can never be replaced. One of the primary things being human interactions and relationships. But great conversations and thoughts. Also, while I was listening to this, I came across something very interesting that might interest you guys as well considering your backgrounds, but it's a fully hand-crafted stop-motion video game! Check it out if you're interested. slow-bros.com/harold-halibut

    Great topic! I think this goes along so well with 1 Timothy 4:8, For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come. Spiritual fitness is so important and informs our total wellbeing, physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual. I also really liked the point about God calling us to believe in Him and satan calls us to believe in ourselves. Satan wants us to be so self-focused so that you can't see God or others. And culture right now is all about us. But like was said, it's about dying to ourself so that Christ can live through us! I also love the idea of art being an expression of our spiritual fitness too. Being an artist and designer myself, I think that expressing creativity is one of the most authentic ways to be more like our creator who is the author of all creativity. And the most important way we can use our artistic gifts is to use it for the glory of God. That's what we were created for! Great quote from Tolstoy about what an artist is too. Had to write that down! Also, shoutout for homeschoolers! I was too! Didn't appreciate it back then, but I definitely do now as I've seen how corrupted the world has become. Thank God for His grace! Amazing episode. There were so many great topics and ideas that came up during this video. Keep up the great work!

    Great conversation! How to manage expectations could be a whole topic. But the topic of internal versus external boundaries is a very important issue to discuss. I think this is something that isn't taught and trained well in our society and in our families, at least it wasn't for me. I had to learn the hard way. I've never really considered internal boundaries as a topic, though I definitely have many of them, I haven't really thought about it like that. Thanks for the insightful thoughts! My thoughts align with something my pastor talked about how we should deal with people, we should use truth and grace. If we use too much truth and not enough grace, then we become legalistic. But if we use too much grace and not enough truth, we end up compromising and maybe even enabling. So, we should use an equal amount of both in our relationships and setting boundaries. I would push back a little about forgiveness. I don't believe that repentance has to precede forgiveness. As a follower of Jesus, I'm called to forgive others no matter their response is to me. Forgiveness is more for us than the other person. Of course forgiveness doesn't mean that you're saying what they did was right or ok or that you have to have any contact or relationship with the unrepentant person. But having unforgiveness in your heart is like drinking poison and expecting the other person to die. So, forgiving others is paramount no matter the response of the other person. Just like Jesus says in Matthew 6:14-15, For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins. That's a pretty serious consequence of not forgiving. Definitely a lot of deep material here. I've lived much of this as well and have plenty of lived experiences around these topics. And I thank God to getting me to where I am today.

    Great conversation for sure! I think there were a lot of good points made and some quotable moments too. I really liked the point that Jenna made about it being much better to go into a relationship with the mindset of what you can give to the relationship versus going in with the mindset of what you can get out of the relationship. Unfortunately, I think we naturally operate out of mindset that looks out for ourselves first. It's definitely going against the norm to put the other person above yourself. But that's what true love really is. Many times love involves sacrifice. I've found that in a relationship there isn't room for selfishness and nothing will cause more issues in a relationship than being selfish. On the flip-side, being selfless is a great boost to any relationship! So, I think she hit the nail on the head with that, and we would all be better off if we took that approach in all of our relationships, romantic and platonic.

    Loved the back and forth interaction. Definitely believe there are many innate differences at a foundational level between men and women, and that’s not a bad thing. I believe God designed us that way on purpose. I think trying to blend everyone together and downplay those differences undermines God’s original purpose and it doesn’t change the fact of the matter but just creates more confusion. Of course anytime you paint with broad brush stokes, there are some exceptions, but I think there were some really good perspectives discussed here and it’s very thought provoking.

    Great episode! I loved how you talked about every day you're practicing who you are. It's so true that investment is a discipline and takes patience (which is also a fruit of the Spirit). Also talking about value and how we assign value to things is very interesting. I've also been thinking a lot about opportunity costs since listening to this as well. Definitely good food for thought!

    I completely agree that change is like a constant flow. It’s impossible to think of change outside of a relationship to time. We see its consistency on a molecular level with the water cycle, within our bodies, and even as we orbit in our solar system. If energy cannot be created or destroyed, change must occur. Human development equates change yet if we believe morality comes from God, values exist outside of time and are constant. The way values are expressed in my life has changed. For example, I have always believed and held to the value of discipline, but the way that value existed in my life 20 years ago is different to the way I express it now. I am more disciplined. I believe experience is a great teacher. I hold this strongly because if we didn’t need to learn something from it, we probably would have avoided that per-- ummm, experience hahaha!

    I just think that both men and women have become too complacent in their decision making. The idea of trying to vet someone has become so much of a challenge because you don't know, from a man's position, what type of reaction you're going to get. And as time goes on it gets a little easier if you've been talking to the same person.

    Good info. Here's what I think on the topic of relationship and when it's important and when it's not important. Like you pointed out, in understanding of intimacy our mothers are typically the first ones that show us that ultimate kind, caring, anger, frustration, etc throughout our younger years of development. So typically through all our young years of living everything that we act out is based off of what we've learned from home. It also shapes what kind of friends we make in school and what kind of enemies we make in school. As we start to move into our young adult years certain emotions start taking a more refined shape, and if those things aren't checked throughout your years of high school moving into college, you develop into a young adult after the ages of 18 and up with certain distractions. Those relationships formed in your younger years aren't really that important in the grand scheme of your development because you typically aren't continued to be friends with those you met in like elementary school. However they start to become important throughout your high school years because those are typically the people you're going to be growing up around and sharing the same age group and all of you sharing your same ideas and opinions throughout those years moving into college and then moving again into adulthood. Then it becomes important. By the time you realize that you are invested in the idea of trying to develop a deeper connections with people especially after the years or during the years of high school, you start to develop a personal moral compass, which in turn still needs work, but for some people it's not so important until they feel as though they're in the "real world". Unfortunately in a lot of ways once reality, based off of choice, starts effecting a person's moral judgment about themselves they typically start caring about who and what and why. This then shapes the way they decide to move and who they decide to connect with. And because of an unrefined understanding of how you feel or what you're feeling you typically start falling into misguided morals.

      @eternallogos3922 Рік тому

      Yes! Like we keep saying, relationships can be unnecessarily complicated. So much of who we are comes from those early years but we have the power to make changes as we grow and get older. Its important to remember that you are in control of your life and are responsible for what happens in/with it.

    Love this type of content. Is reasoning and critical Thinking the same thing?

    • @eternallogos3922
      @eternallogos3922 3 роки тому

      Critical Thinking is the analysis and evaluation of any particular issue and reasoning is the action of thinking about something in a logical way (or the means of going about taking on something). That's a great question!

    • @SirDarkCrow
      @SirDarkCrow 3 роки тому

      I do believe so. The phrase critical thinking is more like a dumbed-down version of what it means to be reasonable or to understand reason. When it really comes down to it becoming a analyst it really takes you to know whatever you're studying beginning and it's known understanding, which then leaves to anyone on the planet interpretation to then begin to do a reasonable examination of whatever you are studying.
