My Channel is primarily for sharing songs I have written, as I write them. Usually right after I lay pen down. Not polished yet but sharing creativity and birth of song. Also a few covers. Thanks! Matt

Good stuff Matt!
Love it!
what a mess my aunt and uncle had an electrical fire when I was little
That's horrible I'm so sorry for your loss. Your last shot yes. Between the burned out deck and the missing roof that really does sum it up. That had to be one extremely intense fire. Did they tell you why that particular wire started the fire? Was it like overloaded and the panel didn't catch that, or was it just faulty and arced? Thank God for insurance and that nobody was hurt.
God, thats horrible. Fire sure is devastating. I remember as a kid that I almost started an electrical fire myself. I was very lucky. But yea, house fires are absolutely no joke. Really sorry that happened.
Love this! Goes with Wheels of Change Alpha Project!!!
Xool perfomance guys!
There are videos of 20 year old girls playing and singing 100X worse who get 14,000,000 views because of their cleavage. That’s life. Keep up the good work.
You sir, are an old school underrated musician
That was excellent gentlemen
😥💔 i just saw this and the other vid in july 2021 ....i have a friend / neighbour who is a musican here in the U.K who is a bass guitarist and has a LOT rare guitars sitting at home like yourself so i shared the vid and the skeleton guitars vid with him and i know he will be devastated by your loss back in 2020 ..i asked him if he had them inusured ect ad he confirmed some are under house insurance and the 3 gibsons he owns are under insurance with the musicians union here in the U.K ....OBV not sure if you have the same set up in America ..obv house insurance ect .....made me sad to see this and the other vid my heart goes out to you as im a DJ ..not a musician like yourself BUT if anything happened to my dj mixer / computers ect i would be devastated as the mixer on its own cost me just short of £1000 when i purchased it and its still on sale at the price! and thats only covered by house insurance! ....i DO HOPE you got covered by insurance and i know sadly they pay out under the odds of what things are worth ..like you said in the vid cds ...get less for them on insurance and prob not replaceable ...sadly they can pay out ect BUT it's not the same as some things can be replaced more or less like for like but some can't as they do have sentimental value ! hope everything is now sorted and as i said heartbroke for you and what you lost as it's all sentamental value to you BUT so Glad you got out the house and survived ect posseions can be replaced to an extent you cant! ....LOVE and PEACE from the United Kingdom Matt! 🧡😘😉
You have my sympathy. Been there, done that, got the merit badge. My sister burnt up the long time family home a few years ago. Then I got this surprise phone call from the school district. Seems kids from the high school and junior high we going into the burnt house...instead of going to school. So the school district police complained to the city and then to make matters worse, then I had the city hounding me to either have it torn down or board it up. I didn't have the 20K to have it torn down and haul to a HazMat land fill (who knew burned wood was now considered Hazardous), so I boarded it up. Your fire was a bit more intense, probably due to longer response time. Mine had nearly the same destruction level except that below 4 feet off the floor, pretty much everything was okay, except in the main burn room. Above that, everything was toast! Lesson - If you house catches on fire, please do like we taught you in elementary school - pretend you are an alligator...get flat on the floor and crawl to the nearest exit and get out. Once you are out - NOBODY GOES BACK IN!!! More people die by trying to go back in and get something they think is valuable. Please don't. Don't STAND UP, get low and stay low. When the fire fighters got there and tried to get to my sister, they looked down the hall with the FLIR camera. Temp was 742 degrees. The captain decided that was too hot even for well dressed fire fighters and had everyone back out. Interestingly, by interviewing the fire fighters a couple of weeks later, I found out that the fire made it into the attic and with 30+ year old wood, got to the higher temperature quickly. This caused the tar in the shingles to melt and drip through the decking on the roof and this would then burst into a ball of flames in the attic. Once they got enough water flow in the attic to stop the tar from melting, they had the fire out in a matter of minutes. Being in the Houston area, just before hurricane Ike, insurance companies cancelled everyone's insurance, so I had no choice except to see the property. In 1963, my parents bought the house, less than 2000 sq feet for 17K. Now there is this huge mansion there, nearly 4000 sq feet, for sale for over 750K.
I’m not sure I understand - did your sister burn down the house, or did she die in the fire?
Where are you located
You are PICKING THAT guitar!!!
I wish this had contained the entire song. I have never heard this song from Nick before and would have loved to hear it in it's entirety. R.I.P. Nick.
Yea Sorry. The place was packed. He's done this song for years and it has always been a favorite, including Blind Boys doing it. When I heard it starting I jumped to where I could get it. Took a short bit. Not much missed. This was the last time Nick played in public by the way. It was a memorial for his friend and everyone's friend who passed. The fellows name escapes me but he was a city council member in Lex and active in neighborhood and city good doer stuff in general.
@@mattmiller4490 Thank you for the info. Being in northern Ky. I never had the privilege of seeing Nick or the Metropolitan Blues All Stars in person but I have nearly all of their recordings plus some live shows as well. I had never heard this song before and any of their stuff that I don't already have interests me.
@@mattmiller4490 Can you tell me the date and location this was recorded ?
@@Ms2old2care March 5 2020, memorial for Jake Gibbs former Lexington city council member and neighborhood activist. Henry Clay's Pub Lexington. The pandemic had just hit. First week of doing the elbow thing instead of shaking hands. Also last time I saw my brother who died suddenly several days later. Nick was going to play at brother's celebration of life. In chatting with him about that he told me that night at Henry Clay's was the last time he played out. Because of pandemic brother's deal got pushed out. Actually still hasn't happened. I was looking forward to getting the chance to play a couple tunes with Nick. I first saw him play in about 82'. He was playing a cheap Japanese guitar, Frank on a Yamaha acoustic and Rodney of course on harp. I was young and talked to them several times about their music and in particular where they got the songs from. Their influences. Back then it was hard to get blues albums you know. They made an impact on me. Having left Kentucky I never saw the bigger band but knew of All-Stars success. And Rodney was playing with my sister's neighbor in Tin Can Budda. Then on several visits home I saw Nick a few times. He used to play at Natasha's(?) downtown and this was last time. Those times he always played "down in the hole" It's a Tom Waits Song if you didn't know. The killer version was by Blind Boys of Alabama. If you've never heard that version be sure to check it out here. ua-cam.com/video/vY5s8K3Bloc/v-deo.html That's about all I know.
@@mattmiller4490 Thank you very much for all the info. It is greatly appreciated. Obviously, I was a huge fan of Nick, Rodney, and the Metropolitan Blues All Stars and very interested in all their recordings and live performances.
Yeah! Great. I love this.
That might be my favorite Nanci Griffith song. Nice cover.
Thank You Karl.
This is so sad. Sorry for your loss 😔
Dude that is just some finger licking good Pickin
What caused the fire?
Electrical. Wiring between the walls. Wasn't even a junction box just a run a wire.
This is so sad. Sorry for your loss. 😔

I love it when you write these beautiful ballads. This is just beautiful.
I like the slower version - but I am drawn to ballads. Really nice.
Wow that's awful. I'm sorry I have gone through this too, Sending you good vibes and prayers your insurance company helps you fast.
WOW !! That is awesome.
Great harmonica solo!
Thanks Matt - lessons to be learned, indeed.
Beautiful one Matt!
Very nice Matt. Very.
Matt Miller cool let it be cover (dig the harmonica added)!
Timely message!
This is amazing and made me tear up. Do I have permission to share on social media?
Fantastic, Matt!
sounds great! thanks for my first music lesson in over 30 years last month ;)
Are you asking me or telling me what chords should be. Ha. Maybe I'm confused? The beginning, verses are just C and FM7, while picking the extra notes. Doesn't need nor should it have 1-6-4-5. The other part starts with standard IIm/IIm7/V and the rest is what it is as my hands show.
Poor Trump, could get it up until Stormy spanked his sorry ass. Before trashing Stormy ask Trump if he is satisfied. for services provided. $130,000 is small change for a night in paradise.
It's not about the affair. It's about the constant lying from Trump. He has defamed these women by calling them liars, when it's blatantly obvious they were telling the truth. Do you have any respect for women at all, or are you just like Trump?
Nice Matt!!
Nice matt! Is that a foot shaker?
Thanks, Matt.
Nice pickin' and metaphors. Guess it's true we come in alone and go out the same.
Nice picking and sweet guitar.
Great song Matt!
at 1:24 you like that nice thick d ...lol Great lesson though !
