I think you needed that doom. Demon helps LC duels so much because she gets a shitload of damage at the start of the duel.

pretty much any 1 cost is okay as a 3 star. I have joked in the past how terrible veno3 is since they nerfed his spawns - that said having a veno 3 and 4 summoners can be strong so even tho' veno is "eh" - yes - he is worth getting - but don't sell the farm
