    I think Frietz has a hammer it that has about six texture that works great and it is made of wood. Has been out fr years. Ve you been foxed

      @littlemetalfoxes 4 дні тому

      Yes! Bill Fretz makes truly gorgeous tools, and does make a texture hammer with multiple faces, but you are restricted to just those few faces. With the ImpressArt Multi-Function Hammer you can put ANY 6mm stamp into it and use it to make a texture, so you have many more than just six options :)!!!

      There are two place you can buy Golden Kitsune Casting Wax (Mitsuro Hikime): littlemetalfoxes.com/products/golden-kitsune-casting-wax-mitsuro-hikime or lionpunchforge.com/products/golden-kitsune-wax-classic-mitsuro-hikime-wax-blend

      I don't remember because it was so long ago ;p! Probably Grieger's, which went out of business decades ago... Rio Grande has this set, which looks good: www.riogrande.com/product/bead-reamer-with-five-tips/111020GP/?code=111020

    Oof that looks challenging! 😅 Nice job Jennifer! 💪 I can see the versatility of this tool would be super useful at the bench. I think, though, to avoid a total meltdown fighting with steel wire, I'll try making with brass wire for my first go round! 😋

    Thanks for this video, i purchased some of this wax and i enjoyed watching you demonstrate how to use it! I am excited to get started now...I am new to wax work so, i do not have sheet wax, can you recommend where i can get it?

    • @littlemetalfoxes
      @littlemetalfoxes Місяць тому

      Riogrande.com or other jewelry supplier will have sheet wax. It comes in various thicknesses that correspond to metal gauges. Pink is a little stiffer and green is a little softer.

    I have used desoldering brade, but unless to are using it when sweat soldering, it burns up under torch flame. I like your solution.

    • @julialowther6709
      @julialowther6709 2 місяці тому

      Try fluxing the desoldering braid! I think that will help keep it from burning up, plus it makes it more "absorbent" since the surface of the copper stays clean of oxides.

    I bought a Jool Tool several years ago. HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT. I used it about a dozen times and the motor died. Seriously. My problem was that I did that over the course of a year. So, no more warranty…and they had changed models. It basically came down to their offer of paying freight (both ways) and paying for repairs-which added up to the cost of a new machine (which is what I had). I do not recommend them at all. It’s really buyer beware. I’m glad you’re happy with yours.

    I don't usually cut out the back of my bezels, but the jump ring idea is great. Thanks. As far as my home-made Lion claw goes, most of the time when I want to us it, I don't have enough space on my charcoal block to fit the work and rest the foot of the claw on the same plain. I use a GRS soldering station and I'll put a small iron pick in the third-hand and use that to hold the work. Using the tip of the clamp doesn't always work because of the backlash when setting the hand. Placing the pick on the work and then gripping it in the third-hand solves this.
