Rockies Road Trip Day 3 PEYTO LAKE + BOW SUMMIT VIEWPOINT. A visit to Banff + HOWSE PASS VIEWPOINT
****Like and subscribe if you enjoy my content***MUSIC CREDITS BELOW****
Another amazing day in the rockies as we take off from Abraham Lake and head towards Banff to get some connection and figure out a game plan. On the way we stop at Housepoint Viewpoint and Peyto Lake with an extra hike up to Bow Summit Viewpoint. What a beautiful place! Peyto Lake is an obvious choice for a must see place but the extra hike to the summit viewpoint is absolutely worth the extra effort! We camp at Mosquito Creek which is our first paid campsite but despite the name, there were actually no mosquitoes at all.
Follow along as the next video is us tackling a major hike as we make a wrong turn and end up summiting THE ONION via Bow Lake! Worth every suffering moment!

It was rough at times but not as bad as I thought it was going to be actually. It does take more time to get to the other side than taking the highway but it was 100% worth it! If you're starting the road from finca la palma the first hill up I believe is really uneven half pavement half dirt with ruts but after that its bumpy but very doable even in a car IMO.😁 If its raining a lot and theres lots of mud then use caution

Do you think you were just experiencing altitude sickness?

    • @Travel.Equals.Freedom

I think it was due to me actually coming down with a nasty flu before I left for Guatemala. It didn't hit me very hard till I got back but I highly doubt it was altitude as altitude sickness typically only starts higher than 2000m and Antigua is 1500m.

Nice video! Did you guys book the trip in advance or wait till you got to cusco to book? Looking to book the same company.

Thank you very much! We booked literally the day before going lol I dont recommend that but I wanted to shop around and didnt trust giving them my money online for some reason. We paid for our tour, waited some hours for the meet up to explain everything and for them to get our info, and then it was off to trekking the next day as I guess they managed to squeeze our group together. The only positive thing about booking last minute I found (and that might of not been the reason) was our group was small. 8 people including the guide! Most groups were 12-16 people so it was nice to only have 7. Keeping in mind for this company the max ppl is 10. You're gonna love it!

It definitely is if you're ever in the area or live in the area I highly suggest not only summer hiking but winter hiking. The beauty is beyond this world and a lot of people miss out because they don't hike in winter. Hope you make it here one day!

The hot springs were awesome!! I cut my toe on a rock there part of the stairs so be careful of that but it was absolutley amazing! We were super lucky and only 7 people were in our group and we got the whole.campsite to ourselves everywhere we went. Hope it works out great for you!

Wow, Mattawa has grown so much. I am in Calgary but my mom grew up there. We lived there for a time when I was little and I love the town. I love the story of the crosses and want to visit them the next time I am in Ontario. Thank you for the video. It was wonderful.
