Can you share your floor plans?
Honestly I winged it. No pun intended. I didn't have any real floor plans. I just figured out a size I wanted and went for it.
Can I come live in your cage
Lol sure
Size?
8ft x 8ft x8ft on the inside of the mews
Don't understand the feed port, why don't you still want to interact with the bird?
During times of high stress like moulting you want to give the bird space so they don't damage the feathers
Also if you have to have some one else feed them it makes it easier say some one not trained in falconry
The food port yes great video thanks great to see compliance
The PVC pipe is a GREAT IDEA!!! How do you clean the floor were the pea gravel is? Do you just rinse or have to remove the dirty gravel and fill with new? Thank you so much!!!!
So far I have just washed it with the hose and when it gets bad ill rake it and mix it around then wash it.
@@ryanmullany1 thank you so much for taking the time to answer me!!! One more question: what is underneath the pea gravel? Is it wood or just the ground? Did you do something for draining? Thanks again!!!!
There is chicken wire under it all to prevent animals from burrowing under the wall and just dirt under that. When cleaning it it drains fine but some times when it rains heavy the back yard floods and I have to bring the birds in the house in the gian hood.
Also np on answering any questions you have falco ers need to help each other and keep the sport alive.
@@ryanmullany1 thank you so much!!!!!
Great Job.
What exactly is that food shoot please ,I want one
Its just pvc piping from home depot
your setup is awesome! been studying for falconry and ready to test soon!
Thank you . Good luck on your test you can do it :)
Just curious. How come you didn't use the weathering area as the safety chamber entrance to the mew?
There is only one door on that part so I couldn't
What size hood is that ? Thanks
I belive a 63 but it was a ebay special so not 100% sure its correct
That food shute is brilliant. 10/10 going to implement that idea.
Thank you learned it from my sponsor
If you don't mind me asking, what was the price for a mew like this? Also how does the drainage and cleaning work?
around 1400 I built most of it other than the weathering yard. It drains right into the rock floor and I just use a water hose to spray it out. Sorry I can't give you a closer cast as its been awhile
I have a question because I working on story for my test right now but what would you do during the winters and can bees get into your mews? I am trying to come up with possible ideas for my own mews and our winter are pretty harsh and we get a ton of wasps and those bees in the winter
Winters i leave the birds out unless it gets below 30. As far as bees i never had issues but you could get a screen repair kit and place it over openings
Your sponsor should have good ideas as well
What state are you in
