what happened to Thoughts of a Dead Atheist? one of my favorite short films on youtube. Came back for another watch and its gone, what a shame.

Very nice looking, VERY interesting world too. I'm nearly 20 mins in though, and I'm not tracking on where this is going, who the main character is, what the goal is, what's at stake to drive the story etc. When it jumps to the outdoor stuff with the guy with glasses, it feels like another film has begun. It's all interesting, it just needs a tighter, clearer setup. It's filled with long context dumps that isn't as engaging as experiencing essential context to get me invested in someone and their goal to drive the story. That's why conflict is so effective, it organically delivers that sort of context in a compelling way. Here, there is a lot of divulging context and there is so much of it one long stream, it's hard to take on, and honestly, care about, because there is no main character with stakes that matter, that we can get behind and care about. Don't get me wrong, this has a lot of potential, lots of very interesting, world building detail. I just needed said essential context to get invested in someone.

Good film. Humans are notoriously dumb, when generalizing for itsself, and those single minded people that cannot let any other view in, or see both sides of a coin, or weigh good and bad, will be our downfall. If progress is more importamt than humanity, science over human emotion, we are doomed We are unique and alike at the same time. You cant pick one or the other. You cant generalize for humanity. But you cant make it all about the idividual either. I like the idea of everything having five to fifteen options, like fast food. From books to welfare to politics. Everyone should have options. That is how you meet the greatest human existance😊

This kind of reminds me of the film (both film 1957 and TV 1968 versions), "A Hatful Of Rain." I never saw the play, but the film version was supposedly a very realistic portrayal of morphine addiction and its impact on user and family (same family make up as here, if I recall correctly). Was that an inspiration?

I liked the film but it never delves into the food issue. These are people who don't know about airplanes, which means there wouldn't be any edible food like we see in the "Walking Dead" shows. This is one or two or more generations after society collapsed. This is a major weak point in the show.

I’m almost halfway through, and I haven’t seen anything about technology gone awry. How is this “Terminator-inspired”? No one seems to be chasing/hunting them, and there is no nuclear fallout, so this could be taking place in modern day redneck country for all we know. Ignorance is bliss, if you ain’t a bookworm. 🤓

At first I was going to mock the movie for the misspelling in the title, now I get it, heh heh, I'm glad I waited.😊 Good story, well done.

A lot of good stuff here, production, story and acting better than most. ONE problem with nearly all productions though is SOUND. No matter what YOU HAVE TO BE ABLE TO HEAR THE ACTORS even if whispering in a hurricane. This might 'violate' video makers purity, and will require REPEATED edits, without head phones with a standard TV at least 15 feet away for 'speaker'. Whenever you are doing unrealistically loud speech, think instead that it's an 'acoustic tunnel vision' the characters are experiencing due to signifcance of scene, dialog etc..Then messing around with volumes becomes noble artistic vision.

That's it, as soon as I'm done with this comment this brain box is introduced to my sledge hammer! Somehow I watched #2 first, and liked it, but didn't realize there is a series! The filming, acting, scenes, music etc. are all good, but I'll have to watch all episodes before I come to a conclusion on what I think about the story. At this point I don't understand the practicality and resource effectiveness of this particular totalitarian approach. The 11 billion people don't know what is going on, and apparently are not making a choice to participate, so there is no need to get their buy in. When their bodies die, i.e. are murdered by an engineered virus, why bother uploading anything? Thank you for the entertainment and thought provoking content!

They stop US making money to become one of them then treat us like shit polluting the planet so quarantine us so only they can breathe fresh air and have the freedom of walking in nature. Something like they're trying to unsuccessfully instigate now. Frightfully _avante garde_ Thx for uploading.

Music good but loud and kept blocking out their lines, so couldn't hear what they said sometimes.

This is a great film, and a warning. A few quibbles. 1)Any mattress abandoned in a derelict building with be chewed up, covered by mouse dropping and unusable, after only a few years! 2)If Gio was bright enough to make a splint, he could have fashioned a crutch, and greatly increased their mobility. 3) More candles than either Zeffirelli's <1968> or Luhrmann's <1996> Romeo and Juliet films combined. 4) The access/key for the gun lock-box has a major blooper. Andrea locks up the gun and takes the key, next scene shows Andy with the gun from the locked box that he didn’t have the key for, ( how many keys are there?) then later, he unlocks the box and finds the gun missing… too many keys! Otherwise- Great B&W&Blue filming choice. Very realistic dialogue scripting for Andrea and Gio. Great winter sets, decent acting, and the theme of book-burning and anti-intellectualism (the title) is so chilling, given the political climate in the US as of April 2023. The last 8 minutes of the film is bleak. A very well done and watchable film all-together!!
