Placenta Calcifications
Access more!: www.dr2women.com/pregnancyinfo
The placenta (the afterbirth) is attached inside your uterus and brings your blood and baby's blood close together so you can give nutrients and oxygen to your baby. There are conditions and times (later in pregnancy) when calcium can build up in the placenta and reduce its effectiveness. If you are told you have placental calcifications, you may get increased surveillance (fetal heart rate monitoring and sonograms).

    My doctor mentioned Lupron Depot to reduce fibroids to avoid surgery all together. Am I understanding from this video that most likely the fibroids reduction are only temporary?

    • @doc2dr2women
      @doc2dr2women 2 місяці тому

      Lupron reduces fibroids temporarily. Generally it is used for 3months prior to surgery. However, there are some new medicines similar to Lupron (e.g. Myfembree), designed to reduce bleeding from fibroids for up to 2 years. Depending on a woman's age (i.e., if they are near menopause), this delaying measure may allow them to avoid surgery. Fibroids in general stop growing at menopause. There may be a circumstance where Lupron alone may be part of a plan to reduce the size of fibroids to avoid surgery, but it is rarely the case in my experience. As always, these are general comments and not meant to diagnose or treat you.

    Doctor can you explain why post menopausal women tend to bleed a little when they are nervous ?

    • @doc2dr2women
      @doc2dr2women 2 місяці тому

      Bleeding, even a little bit, after menopause is never normal. If a woman is nervous, that may temporarily decrease her immunity and increase her risk of atrophic vaginitis - a simple vaginal infection easily treated. However, if ignored, it may be a sign of a more serious problem so should never be ignored. Again, any women with bleeding after menopause should seek medical attention and not assume its just being "nervous".

    • @doc2dr2women

      The standard of care for evaluating bleeding after menopause is to sample the lining of the uterus (with exceptions) and there is no evidence of it causing any spread of cancer.

  • @kathyfullarton8126
    @kathyfullarton8126 8 місяців тому

    If an endometrial biopsy only samples 4% of the uterine lining, why would the test even be done???? If you received a positive result for cancerous cells, then yes, you have a definitive duagnosis. But if the results show no cancerous cells, then you could have a false negative result, if the cancer cells werent part of that 4% sample. It appears post menopausal women are in the group of women who find this test excruciatingly painful.....so why put these women through such a painful procedure knowing that you're not getting an adequate sample and potentially providing a false negative result??????

    • @doc2dr2women
      @doc2dr2women 7 місяців тому

      Hello, in my experience of many endometrial biopsies (EMBs), most women do well and have 10 seconds of cramping similar to a period. A few feel virtually nothing, and even fewer say its the worst cramps they've ever had - I forewarn them of this and always abort if it is too uncomfortable (and they can opt to decline). The benefit is that if the biopsy is positive for pre-cancer or cancer, then the treatment is a hysterectomy. This avoids the added risk and expense of two surgeries (a d&c, then a subsequent hysterectomy). They also get the peace of mind of more rapid preliminary information since the EMB gives an immediate preliminary answer (the specimen appearance) and a sooner more final answer (a few days) than the general wait time for the surgery. Of course, the final answer is the hysteroscopy and d&c result.

    Spine chilling to hear! Its almost two centuries ago that a surgeon's skill was measured by how fast he could perform an amputation. Surgeon Robert Liston at University College Hospital in London could amputate a leg in 25 seconds. He didn't use anaesthesia either but then that was in the 1840s before they became available and the procedure was a medical necessity not a medicalised ritual you perform. Of course the risk of being quick is causing more damage than intended, I sure know that I would want any surgeon or doctor operating on me to take all the time they needed and not rush it! The risk is 100% since I take it that in all cases of your ritual penectomies there is loss of the prepuce and with it the most erotogenic parts of the body, something I suspect you have no personal knowledge of having yourself been put through this ritual.

    Thank you for being truthful when stating the benefits are so very minimal. I believe you didn't put enough emphasis on the risk of having it done which is very disappointing. Many of the risk don't show up until after the child leaves the hospital so they are not tracked. The biggest reason to NOT circumcise is it is a complete violation of the child's right to bodily anatomy. As a physician you took an oath to do no harm. At its core circumcision is harmful so you as well as many are in complete violation of that oath. I was circumcised as a child and feel that I was violated period. As a result of that and several other serious betrayals by doctors throughout the years coupled with the greed and corruption in the USA medical field my opinion of doctors/healthcare is they are a despicable bunch and are unworthy of any trust.

  • @edwardma-6559
    @edwardma-6559 Рік тому

    Circumcision is absolutely unnecessary in infants (babies, newborns) and healthy young children who cannot consent or decide. It is a terrible and cruel male gnital mutilation that must be rejected, prohibited and punished. Circumcision damages the glans for life. Circumcision has no benefits or advantages in healthy babies and children because the foreskin is the best skin because it has many important and beneficial sexual and protective functions, thousands of nerve endings, veins and blood capillaries, therefore the foreskin must be kept intact and wash the glans in each bath or shower to prevent infections such as balanitis or urinary tract. Do not circumcision. Circumcision destroy your sexual pleasure and sensitivity because circumcision dries out and keratinizes the glans. Clean penis during bath, after urination and sex to prevent the risk of any problem. Use condoms to protect HIV and STD. Phimosis is not a disease to worry about unless there is any irritation, infection of the foreskin. Any irritation, infection, urinary tract infection is solve by medicine. Many people live with phimosis and enjoy sex life. Paraphimosis may go away on its own or solve by gently press the swelling foreskin and push forward. Doctor may suggest circumcision because of their bloody money business. But do not circumcision. Again saying clean penis during bath, after urination and sex to prevent the risk of any problem. The foreskin is a healthy natural tissue that provides protection, lubrication, pleasure and benefits for both sexual partners therefore the foreskin must be kept intact. Circumcision is an unnecessary and dangerous technique (on Newborns) that does not provide any real benefic. Fortunately, in Spain, most newborns are not circumcised. I read about how the payment system works in the United States. Merely the procedure is carried out in most cases without any medical reason. The ony reason why doctors and hospitals carry up the circumcision is because they profit from it since it involves a lot of money and the insurers take care of the costs, it's basically a business. Please Americans, don't circumcise your sons. It is a procedure in which the child goes through a horrible pain and experience. There are more risks than benefits and scientifist studies in most countries of the world(except USA and Isreal) have stated that "there are no scientific reasons to perform such a technique unless it is for medical reasons such as phimosis" or "balanitis". And the supposed "benefits" do not justify such an intervention. If the pediatrician recommends you that it is for the "good of the child" becuase he Will have less likely to get infections or penis cancer penis thanks to "circumcision". It's a lie, basically because in Europe there are only 5% of circumcised men and the incidence of sexually transmitted diseases and penis cancer is much lower than in the States where it is done in most cases. In addition, the foreskin secretes lubrication that allows sexual relationships be pleasurable and not only , there are millions of nerves and blood vessels in foreskin. If It is cut, they'll loose sensebility in that zone when they get older. ADVICE: In the even that a nurse tells you that she is taking you child to the OR in order to be circumcised, if she does that without your inform consent, let her know that you are going to sue her for medical negligence because it is a FELONY. Many doctors and nurses are aware that this procedure (although they do not only do it with circumcision but also with many medical procedures) means a considerable amount of money for the hospital. A circumcision in your country costs around 2000 dollars. Your healthcare is a business. Be aware of that.
