Why You Should Stop Shooting RAW

All new photographers are told to shoot RAW for everything because it produces the absolute best images out of your camera. It's true, RAW is the best image format, but there are certain situations where shooting RAW may end up hurting you more than helping. Find out why JPG can actually be better than RAW in some situations. MY PHOTO/VIDEO CAMERA: amzn.to/3z5qt4C UA-cam LENS: amzn.to/3keiMCK V...

Your strategy only works if the the original job was done poorly-meaning that the ceiling wasn’t painted after the popcorn was originally put up. If they did the original job correctly, they painted over it-and the scraping/removal will not be as simple as spraying it with water and scraping.
Man I wish it was this easy. Someone painted over my popcorn ceiling so it's been a nightmare stripping it
The guy in the video is giving very poor advice. It makes me doubt his level of knowledge about the topic. In my experience, if you shoot in raw you will be able to produce a number of versions of your photo in jpeg format in pos processing. And there is nothing better than going back through your photos and realising that a jpeg file you have that you now regret having saved can be reworked from your original raw file. Ignore the guy in the video. He does not know what he's talking about.
Look at my work and you will see im very knowledgable. please watch the video again as you have poor comprehension skills!
damn dude 😻😻😻 also in real estate, photography, video, & modeling
Isn't it very easy for the asbestos checks (kits, etc.) to be a scam?... If you had your ceiling "professionally" checked, of course they would tell you that they found asbestos and consequently you need to pay for their "professional" removal services...
How much does a service like this cost?
Really well done, man. Best of luck with the rest of the Reno!
There will always be a new camera coming out, with the marketing campaigns and hype that go with it. But frankly, I think good cameras like the r5 will remain interesting choices for many years to come. What more could you ask for? Just got mine few months ago, it’s an excellent camera
great video
Thanks.. You never mentioned, yeah we can see the mess on the floor, but I'm guessing you were as messy too? Wondering about ,, do you need a moon-suit as protection too?
If you have a princess auto around s the pump sprayers are cheaper than Home Depot …. But thanks for the tutorial. I have a 300 square foot room with overhead lighting I have to do. Marvellous. Can’t wait : sarcasm I find for raw drywall sherwin williams has a primer called pro 999. The stuff is amazing. Trust me. Try it next time.
Most people don't have overheating issues 😂.
You don’t know what your talking about, you should remake this video on why shooting raw video is stupid
@@mmc5261 shooting raw video isn’t necessary in most cases for most people. Same as shooting raw photos isn’t always necessary.
Was it safe to remove this popcorn ceiling if it had asbestos in it?
So I removed my popcorn ceiling. We painted it with "ceiling paint flat behr". I thought it had premier in it. It does not. So we got one coat on OK. But the second coat it is flaking and bubbling in a couple spots. What should I do? Do I need to sand and come back with a premier on the whole ceiling? Or can I repair those areas? I fear in time the whole ceiling will peal and crack.
@@danj6750 definitely need to get a coat or two of dedicated primer on. I had this issue early on in my home renovation when I did not prime the ceiling correctly.
Put the masking tape on the corners
Kilz primer all the way
Explain: if popcorn removal, sanding, and then painting.. why would I need to put plastic up and or remove carpet that I would be trashing?
But, but, but... Popcorn ceilings are known for having asbestos within them, which causes cancer...thousands of people have died from Mesothelioma! I noticed you didn't wear a mask, why? The fibers get in your clothes, and they float around your home. Did you test your ceiling for asbestos before beginning? I am confused...that you would wear a mask for sanding and not for the removal of a KNOWN CARCINOGEN. Would love to follow your advice, but I am confused, because it contradicts everything I have been learning. Please further educate me on why it is okay to remove a popcorn ceiling without any precautions or safety measures. Respectfully.
We just got quoted $9500 to remove popcorn form our ceiling. We did it ourselves just like you did. Looks and feels amazing. Saved a lot!
@@trishblack4993 amazing!!!
bro not the bass pro hat..... have some respect lol jk
No they don’t know what respect is unfortunately 😢 but one day they will all find out one at a time
Let the water soak in before scraping. This will make for much cleaner scrapes and comes off easier. Waiting 20 minutes is usually a safe choice.
great video connor, appreciate it! gotta do my whole house now! haha
Thanks for sharing this info. You are great teacher. ❤️Fellow Memphian
Can you tell us about how many hours of labor this was... i'll double it for me... lol
Is anyone else seeing blue room instead of white?
This job is easy, as you say, as long as the popcorn has not been painted. If they've been sprayed with paint they are MUCH harder to remove. I'm probably going to skim coat mine instead. I'm just mentioning that so that your viewers are informed. Thanks!
You mentioned that you did "a couple patches", but I believe many people do 1 or 2 very thin coats of drywall mud on the ENTIRE ceiling. Why did you not do that? What's the downside to skipping that step? (the upside is very obvious ha)
Thanks a lot, specially for the last line that it works only on desktop as i was trying to find this on ipad 😅
Yikes!! 👀 Time to put that brush and roller out of their misery.
More of these videos pls!!
What if my walls are like this
Great video! We just bought our first house and are going to be tackling the popcorn ceiling (if no Asbestos found) as one of our first projects!! Only thing I’ll add to your video is get yourself some paint brush comb and a wire brush - makes the job of cleaning your paint brushes so much faster and it keeps them long lasting and looking good 😎
Thank your for such a comprehensive ceiling makeover…will be using your technique real soon !
Thank you
Hey bud! Any chance you could've just put ceiling paint on without primer??
Thank you very much for sharing. God Bless you ✝️💖🙂
Thank you for sharing ❤
How do you keep drywall tape from coming up in some areas when you scrape to where the ceiling meets the wall?
taping that plastic to the wall was painful. lol! straight lines are easy with tape!!!!
Awesome shirt
Use Atomos Ninja 5 for playing videos and you will not have problems for overheating. I never had any problems for overheating. and the camera is super but it depends on me not only on camera. :)
Yes they have a pink color or a blue color that way you can see if you missed any spots on ceiling
Nice video.😁
This is the slowest, messiest, dumbest way to get rid of a popcorn ceiling. Just cover it in 1/4 drywall tape and mud. Because you will be extremely lucky to not damage that drywall scrapping that popcorn. Also you will have to prime then skim coat that entire ceiling or it’s going to look like crap.
@@rolandthethompsongunner64 if you get the popcorn wet enough it comes off very easily. When done correctly the ceiling will look great. Mine does.
My popcorn ceiling is falling off so tape and mud just won't cut it. I'll be scrapping it all off.
I did not know about asbestos in popcorn ceilings. Makes me wonder if I haven’t been exposed to this crap in the home improvement and remodeling trade.
This was a beautiful video to watch. Thank you, if you get some time in your busy schedule, I think being a UA-camr is definitely in your future🎉
I completely agree! Loved removing the popcorn !!
Lay floor plastic first. Then walls.
Your videos awesome I’ve been a painter for a while, but I haven’t done removal of a popcorn ceiling and what I saw today that was so cool at Home Depot. They have ceiling paint that’s pink that dries bright white so you know you didn’t miss any spots.
The other trick when painting the ceiling, the first coat you should go One Direction like long way of the room how you painted an the second coat you should go the other way and then you will cover everything
