Thank you for posting great wrestlers matches, and breaking down Tazhudinov’s double leg takedown technique. Most all his takedowns, his opponent had his arm inside-under Tazhudinov’s arm. But none of them are doing anything with their arm inside-under position. There are no whipover attempts, no front headlocks gotten. Their arm is trapped and they are essentially trying to counter the double leg with one arm. Their trapped arm is useless. Sadulaev did not allow his arm to be trapped in the inside position. Sadulaev might be near the end of his prime. Sadulaev has won world championships at this weight and also a lighter weight. Tazhudinov does his best with what he was born with….great length of arms and legs, great strength. While his style of takedown, is not first choice of most champions, it works for him. When he dumps opponent on their butt, and circles around so that opponent’s back is exposed for possible points-this causes his opponents to eventually turn belly down to prevent Tazhudinov from scoring back points or a tilt. Sadulaev might drop back to a lower weight class to avoid Tazhudinov. I wonder if initially popping one knee into Tazhudinov chest, before rapidly extending leg back into a sprawl would be helpful as part of counter. I’m not sure if it’s within the rules. And I’m not sure that knee pop would be effective against great wrestlers. I think, Tazhudinov might be vulnerable to throws, Greco type throws, with full arching throw. But throws are especially difficult against Tazhudinov because his feet stay in contact with mat, when a shorter opponent attempts a lift. I’ve seen some wrestlers get in on a leg tackle against Tazhudinov. A high leg tackle with no knees on mat. Opponents try to lift Tazhudinov to finish leg takedown but Tazhudinov retains his balance because both his feet are touching the mat. I still think Tazhudinov is susceptible to throws when he is doing his penetration step. Of course if I were magically moved back to my prime, Tazhudinov would win against me even faster than his other matches. Still think throws are the way to go against him. But there must be great skill and strength, but above all their opponent can not be scared. In you video breakdown, Sadulaev was not scared, he was try to effect his double chest wrap counter that has worked on others and while he did not get a stalemate-he was fighting for a stalemate. Thank you again for your great content and analysis. With film and slow motion and stop motion-great technique is shown to all of us.
Sadulaev has, against other opponents, used his chest wrap counter to their leg attack to tilt opponents, causing them to go across their back. Sometimes it’s a 2 to 2 score. And sometimes opponents only way to stop the tilt is to release their grip on Sadulaev’s leg(s) and belly down, giving Sadulaev a go behind takedown. Maybe Sadulaev can score against Tazhudinov in future matches, with chest wrap counter. Then again, maybe not. For his chest wrap counter to work, he must not allow Tazhudinov to get control of both legs, and dumping him on his backside, then circling for possible back points. Two great wrestlers!
don't show my athletes this
Agreed lol
@@WrestlingRabbitHoleCan you do a breakdown of the match between Tazhudinov vs Aitmukhan?
Best channel great content
You deserve more followers honestly brother💪
Your breakdowns have helped me alot, especially the Iranian underhook series.
That’s beautiful thanks for sharing 🙏
He is strong
Thank you so much!!!! It was a topic I really wanted to learn, but thank you so much for making the video like this. I'm always learning well. Thank you.
Tazhudinov wrestles according to his usual height and reach advantage over most wrestlers, and his skillset. Tazhudinov likes to maintain space between him and his opponent. If his opponent shoots a leg takedown from a distance (space), Tazhudinov has extra time to counter. And if Tazhudinov decides to shoot a leg takedown, his relatively long arms and long legs allow him to close the distance and have a good chance of finishing takedown. Sadulaev has wrestled up a weight for several years. Also Sadulaev is getting near the end of his competitive wrestling career. Sadulaev has dropped back into one of the lower weights. I believe Sadulaev is more skilled, but I’m not sure Sadulaev could beat Tazhudinov on a consistent basis if somehow their primes could be matched. Even though Sadulaev has won world championships at both higher and lower weights, I believe he is a bit small for the higher weight. Unless you are unusually tall, with both long legs and long arms, it might be unwise to try to copy his stance and strategy. Many wrestlers fail in their leg takedown attempts against Tazhudinov. They get caught on their hands and knees, with head down, and no grip on his leg(s) or a weak grip. Then Tazhudinov skillfully tilts opponent to their back and or spins behind for takedown. Tazhudinov is world champion. For a wrestler to have a chance of victory against him, I believe he would have to push the pace, engage in fierce hand fighting, be highly skilled in throws. But being highly skilled in throws might not be enough to overcome Tazhudinov’s height, which will also afford him extra balance, because even if an opponent attempts a lift or throw, Tazhudinov’s feet-foot might still be standing on the mat. Tazhudinov might be world champion for a number of years, not only because of his physical qualities, but also his mental qualities-he rarely makes mistakes and is very careful not to gas. He uses what he’s got very well.
Sorry, this may a stupid question, I'm very new to wrestling and mostly used it in a jujitsu context. But I don't understand the point of head posting because it seems to be kind of contrary to some traditional advice which is to keep your elbows in tight or not to overly extend. I know you're saying it's to keep space, but is there a greater strategy around it? Kyle Dake, does it alot. Thank you,
Have you ever explained a rainbow to a blind man??
Head post can do a lot of things. It can actually get the other guy's elbows to come out if he reaches for your arm. I would also say that the closer you get to your opponent the less you want your elbows out and the less extended you want to be, so in space it's a little less important and you have more time to react to things.
Hi, I’m quite new to wrestling too. 5 months in roughly. I’m the same height and weight as Tazhudinov. I use headposts to either keep distance so I can double leg, deter takedown attempts or anticipate them when they attempt so I can sprawl quick. I liken it to using a jab to measure distance in boxing. Tucking elbows in is probably better in range so you don’t get under hooked.
I think yazdani does this and transations double like amouzad here
Jordan Burroughs 2.0
so feets square and your own head is at a lower level than the opponents? I get the feet square part but is the second the only thing to always score a double leg? what about hands for example?
Having your head below your opponent's head is better offensive and defensive position. It allows you to protect your legs and get to the opponent's legs easier.
Jflo is really good at this too. Thank you for showing the top level do it too.
Great vid coach, can you pls make a vid about Arman Andreasyan? 🏆💪🏽

Sitting in the sun, watching this in Aus. Great breakdown.
his snapdown go behind or transition to single leg/ankle pick seems like just a fluid motion of movement
Awesome breakdown. You're becoming one of my top wrestling UA-cam channels. I noticed the same thing and had the same question about why Ono seems to always attack the opponent's left leg when he does a left-hand overtie snap (vs. attacking the opponent's right leg when he does a left-hand collar tie snap). Here is my guess: First, his overtie and collar tie snaps to leg attack are automatic, highly drilled actions. He's not waiting to see where the opponent's leg/body lands (and to your point, he doesn't care which foot is front on the snap itself). Ono is snapping and going for the predetermined leg with (almost?) no exceptions. This is part of what makes him so fast. He's not thinking or reacting to the opponent; he's firing off automatically based on some queu (like the moment he feels the opponent's collar tie fall off his neck, he knows he's shooting for that left leg). This makes for some occasionally "weird" sequences, like the Vito example. Vito's right leg is so much closer, but Ono's drilled response is to go for the other leg, which he does, even though it seems strange. As for WHY he chose to make going for that leg his automatic drilled response, I think it might have to do with his body angle on the overtie vs collar tie snap. When he does his collar tie snap with the head shrug, his body ends up sort of pointed at 10-11 o'clock (looking from above), making the opponent's right leg more in front of him. When he does his overtie snap, his body is angled the other way, 1-2 o'clock. So the right leg is more directly in front of him. Anyway, those are my best guesses. Thanks again for what you do!
How'd we fair against Ohio State
Hi can you make a analysis / breakdown of tahzu plz there is literally nothing on the internet on him
Imagine being at a Cael Sanderson seminar and laying down and yawning.
Absolutely FILTHY
Just patiently waiting for the breakdown 😮💨
What is there to breakdown? He's shooting singles from space and following them through to maximum effect. Best way to get better at this is to do reps and reps.

Amazing. Flexibility to bend that far back, escape and turn.
Can you make a breakdown video about it, would be so helpful and appreciative if u could.❤

Don't know if you're going to post a newer video this year, but happy new year 🎉

Sneaky he won’t fall for that again😂
@WrestlingRabbitHole Are you a former high school wrestler?
Yes, I also wrestled in college.
@@WrestlingRabbitHole Thank you for answering. I appreciate your analysis and insight. Keep up the good work!
Do you know where to find any footage of Ono before he broke his leg and developed his overtie snap series?
