Bonham Trip 4 part 2 of 3

First start in 3 weeks. During downtime, installed reverse bucket and repaired exhaust coolant leak. Reverse bucket works well. At 40 mph, lake Bonham becomes small. Can get to every corner within a few minutes.

Steering fixed. Still have two leaks to fix. Hit 46 mph with power to spare. Will probably top out in the 50's with smooth water on a calm day. Fixing leaks, then plan to sell boat and start a build on a 16" v-bottom inboard jet. High speed turns are creepy in a small jon boat. This boat flies! This may be the only 14 ft Alumacraft hull with a 120 hp engine. Fast and fun.

2nd lake trial with 14 ft jet jon. Had steering cable come loose and found leak on rear transom. Runs much better since jet inlet modification. Need to adjusted exhaust valve. Will test again on Mon or Tuesday. Did not take GPS speed measurement today. Just drove it.

Heading out for second trial. Fixed the exhaust leak, modified the jet intake and added a bilge pump. Hope to get 45mph today if the lake is smooth enough.
