How a homemade stoneground flour sifter works
Переглядів 3 тис.7 років тому
This was made for a local Baltimore area farmer milling (and now sifting) his own flour. This was our own design and is specifically for his mid-level volume. The vibrating motor is from VibeCo. 4" dust collector fittings were from Amazon. Everything else was purchased at your local neighborhood HD. Questions? Stick 'em in the comments.
mezuzah making, part 2

No part three. Part two would have been the turning, which I forgot to film... Oops. So this is mostly what would have been part three.

Laminating w/ paper after routing. Prepping for the lathe.
What size wood did you use? Also, how long do you mae each mezuzah?
Hey Eli, i don't recall off-hand, but the blanks were around 1.5" x 1.5" square. I turned several at once out of a long piece of stock, then cut them apart. Mine were around 6" in length. Finished diameter was around 1.25". But, remember, mezuzahs come in any size and shape.
@@vossvoxwerks3596 Thank you very much. I want to make some this weekend, It seems like a real fun project.
what is the size number of sieve ?
What do you use to make them? I want to make some for my Rabbi
This wood is walnut. Hotzlocha!
@@vossvoxwerks3596 Does it tend to be hollow inside? how does this happen? toda
@@noahgoldsworthy1159 No such luck. I cut a cove with my router for a space for the klaf and glued them back to back with paper in between before turning. The paper lets them split apart easier at the end.
I was about to comment to ask how you split it so easily so thank you!! @@vossvoxwerks3596
It’s really interesting to see how they’re made. Great video!
Glad you enjoyed!
What level of fineness do you grind before sifting? Thats a cool contraption.
