Initially wanting to do Desperation, E1 6a, at Stanage, I unfortunately fell off, taking a ground fall (a hint of artistic licence) in the process. Instead, me and Tom decided to do 3 separate HVS's. The story of the man who got stuck on Stanage, so they cemented him in
Переглядів 1 тис.Рік тому
Today I bring to you the story of the man who got stuck on Stanage Edge in the Peak District. He climbed into a chimney and couldn't get back out. Legend has it that he is still here to this day, cemented in and hidden. He climbed up a chimney, got stuck and died. They couldn't remove his body as it was too tightly stuck, so they cemented him in.

Las Conchas climbing and the Jemez hot springs

Today (well, about 2 months ago) we visited Las Conchas, in the Jemez national forest in New Mexico, and went sport climbing. We then went to chill out in the nearby hot springs before heading home. I hope you enjoy this video, if so please leave a like! Also, the first track was actually mixed by Ricky, made famous in a couple of my previous videos, so if hate it be sure to vent your frustrati...

2:54 Swim for it! That's what I did. 😂
Just run out enough to give you serious willies but not enough to make you call for a toprope. Well done, Phew!
Narcolepsy rules dudes!
I did many of the best free routes in Yosemite Valley with that rack. There are other ways to weight train, you know?
Will McBro 🤝 carrying a full rack up a route that already has the gear in
Lets goo! i finally have an account so I can like n subscribe n comment. Rootin for u to get that sponsorship 🙏😤
Thanks……. Watch this space!!
What a dick parking like that, there was plenty of space ?
Nope. Everything is not bomber on grit. Please don't put cams and nuts behind VERY friable flakes as this can destroy the routes. On Czech sandstone metal chocks and cams are banned.
Toy should go up to E2. Good to see some routes filmed at Curbar. Trackside bouldering vids are utterly tedious.
Don’t scroll too far into my old videos…..
One of my first E grades back in about 1986, seem to remember my fingers been too big for the crack, or was the crack too thin for my fingers...
Loved it, so nice to see proper climbing on YT😀
Thanks Stuart 👍
Sexy cameraman and star right there
1:58 Larry Bird?
hate post: pre-placed gear. get!
Necky 💪💪💪
Haha nice, we chatted to you when you were out that day. Nice work on the vid!
That's me trundling past when he's just starting up inverted v ❤
Congratulations on becoming UA-cam famous! Thanks for the support 😂
E5 5C......IF it was a drug, it would be heroin.......TBH, I'd rather shoot heroin than lead 'Green Death''. Greater chance of me surviving!
Stanage in winter, no crowds, bit of discomfort, topping out, nice vibes.
I’ve certainly had much much colder days on stanage!
Eros is HVS. Emma did superbly.
world's worst spotter!!
Haha tbf I’ll blame the camera angle, it dropped off and he saved me from the rocks 😂
adds to the E grade
Good job lads, I really enjoyed watching that it brought back some happy memories 😊 Loved the socks. Necessity is the mother of invention. I suppose you did Queersville already? I subscribed, hope you get your thousand soon.
Thanks for the support, I think we’ve done most of the three star HVS’s at the popular end, and I’m actually not the biggest fan of Queersville! We’re having to dip into the one and two star routes (I know, horrible!) to keep ourselves occupied 😉
I've got a vid of Desperation Start. Can be laid back without the finger jam.
Thanks, I guess I’ll have to go back and do it next time
Genuinely impressed with the sock idea.
You've got Desperation as E1 6C in your video caption my dude - think it gets E1 6a.
Thanks, I’ve fixed it, felt like 6c to my tbh
The OJ Simpson of subtitled videos
I'm a bit staggered by the genius of the sock thing
New video sponsorship opportunity incoming
Those socks have rocked my world. I wish I had come up with that.
Emma smashed it. Last time I dropped a comment you were off to the dubious joy of the USA. Obviously back now. I will continue to watch your struggle for sponsorship with interest 🙂
Thanks! Big things are coming, I’m sure of it!!
On ya Emma 😊
Huge respect
Huge respect 😮
Am I UA-cam famous now?
Did she do it onsight? Or was it headpointed? Cos that makes all the difference...
Emma seems like a legend, well done!
What's the point of even having a rope on that? Is there more of a drop after the landing?
Although the gear is low down its pretty bomber, so it still protects a decent chunk of the route, plus the thinking is I can run back belaying if she was to fall…. I guess a small chance of not hitting the ground is better than nothing!
hope ur situation with ur van works out man!! :D
Cheers boss, every part of my body is crossed!
Emma, wow!! What composed climbing. Beautiful and inspiring.
Glad you enjoyed it!
if i was a company i'd sponsor you
amazing. also... IMHO, one the best E6s at Millstone. short and sharp crux... not death.. then gets scary. Respect.
Classic👍
Excuses
To put in perspective. Joe put this route up in 1948. On his feet nailed boots but probably plimsolls with socks over the top. His rope was likely made of hemp and simply tied round his waist with a bowline. Protective gear - slings over a spike or block. So nothing on this one. No chalk. It was probably green and greasy.
well wasn't that a nice Christmas present
Such fantastic routes! ❤
Hope you have a good life in the USA, I have given up climbing now but my first ever route was Flaying Buttress, which I was dragged up on a Freshers meet in 1970 and led for the last time, 50 years later to the hour, in 2020. Its good to see an accomplished climber enjoying about such easy but classic routes….good choices mate.
Merry Christmas
Music?
First track is Love story original version by Layo and Bushwaka and I can’t remember what the second track is sorry
Beautiful sunset!
Second best thing about the Peak? (After the rocks!)
Little Unconquerable ,to the left ,is a fun challenge too.
Will have to give it a crack next time I’m there, also fancy the mini girdle
These are a brilliant collection of videos you've made lads
Thanks, really appreciate it.
Try the 1989 VS Challenge, it's 36 x 3 star VS in a day. Did it on my 34th birthday and took from leaving the car park at 8AM to leaving car park at midnight. It's the volume and amount of walking/jogging to another route that will get you
Next birthday challenge?!
Did this many years back, was also fairly gripped as it was a "don't fall" crux and finish. Weirdly enjoyable
