A4000 Heatsink mod. If you have some of these in an open air frame, then you know they get really hot. This helped me drop another 6c off the memory after upgrading the thermal pads. They really should be in a forced air enclosed server case. But if you need a little extra cooling, this ugly mod helps. Just make sure you use thick enough pads (3mm) so you don't short anything out. Disclaimer: T...

Did you only use the gelid extreme for both sides or did you use gelid extreme for the gpu side only?
Was this the 12gb version? And what were the sizes for all the thermal pads?
So I've been having issues with my back fan starting to wobble and sounding like an old engine... Took the card out identified it's defo that fan that's wobbling as it's loose and not stiff like the others.. Where did you get your fans from?
@RoyalATP amazon and ebay have em. Take the shroud off to see the connections. Then when you think you found the right fans, double, triple, and quadruple check that it's the correct ones. I recommend doing the whole set of fans. If 1 is going, another will probably go soon as well. I recommend amazon as if you do get the wrong ones, they have an easier return policy.
I have a 75w card WITH an additional 6 pin connector, I think that's a special usecase
Finally, someone with actually useful information. You're underrated!
You have experience with Gelid Ultimate pads? I'm debating between gelid ultimates and extremes for 2mm.
Did you find out? I guess ultimate is better.
I've been wanting to do this. PSUs are more efficient on 240v than 120v. Is it a dramatic amount? Well, as you have shown, no. BUT it is still more efficient. You can even check PSUs' efficiency rating curves and how they compare on 120v vs 240v plugs. It's really going to be the most noticeable without a load... as PSUs are generally rated at 93% efficiency under moderate load. Depends on the wattage of the PSU, of course. And then you have your 80+ bronze, gold, platinum, etc., which means the lowest load they can go to to be at least 80% efficient. I have a Corsair HX1200i and I'm running 98ish watts from the wall @ 83.x% efficiency which is showing about 82 watts. So, my PSU at an idle is pulling 98 to convert to 82 watts. It'd be nice to increase that efficiency. Would I see it on my electric bill? No. But I'd see it with HWiNFO64 lol. The Corsair HXi models have their own power monitoring hardware in them, so as long as you connect it to your motherboard you can monitor all your PSU specs. It matches up with my Kill-A-Watt 3 meter. It'd just be cool... that's my only excuse. Plus, the efficiency curve rises much quicker and drops much later on a 240v outlet according to the manufacturer's tables. The issue is that the 240v outlet is about 18 feet away :-/ Not sure if I want to run an extension cord for a PSU cable just for all this. And moving my set up is out of the question. Plus I would need a new surge protector for 240v.. which isn't a problem but, I dunno. It's just unfortunate that the only real efficiency gains I'd see are at idle. But if I could bring my efficiency rating from 83% @ 100 watts (averaging) to 90-92%, that'd be pretty nice. I need to find my efficiency rating table and see EXACTLY what this PSU would do.
can I use GTX 1650 that needs 6 pin and use 1 sata to 6 pin connecter?
Are they good for CPU ?
Bro for CPU use thermal paste...
Are these revision 1 or 2 cards?
Revision 1 non LHR
Where did you get fans exactly? My 2080 need some replacement i think. Thinking about replacing or doing deshroud mod
3070 is 1.5mm pads
Great video. Do you know how to start up PD19 without a breaker board?
What thickness thermal pads is correct for this card? :)
The hotspot temps you are seeing buddy is on the GPU dye so good thermal paste like syy 157 or Thermalright TFX or even the Honeywell PTM7950 thermal pad would see a reduction in temps but not by much however far better than the stock paste. Since the founders 3070 is GDDR6 it doesn't run as hot as GDDR6x VRM modules on the ti 3080+ cards and doesn't have sensors on the card which will allow you to monitor temps. However your thermal pads would have made a difference, its just that you can't monitor them using software.
I already watched this before, but i just wanted to inform you that GELID ULTIMATEs are better
No
Thanks, I have ROG STRIX RTX 2080 Super OC with 3 fans and the middle one is going to 0 and back to speed and then back to 0 again. Also its wobbling when it goes back to 0 with irritating sound "screech" (hard to describe). Do you think it would be fixed by changing the fan? What kind of screw driver I need to replace fan?
Absolutely need a new fan. Just double and tripple check size and wire layout before you order. Will need a really small Phillips head screwdriver. I really love my iFixit screwdriver kit. Has everything you would need. And can even be picked up at a local home depot.
These are the ones I purchased recently. CCVA T129215SU 7Pin GPU Card Cooler Fans for ASUS ROG StrixGeForce RTX 2060 2080 2080 Ti or RX 5600 XT RX 5700XT Fan 1 Set a.co/d/613tvSG
Bad title! This limited video doesn't show me how to check the PCIe power draw of anything but a GPU... I need to know what the power draw of my PCIe NVMe adapter card is, so unfortunately, this is useless to me.
Can you please tell me where to buy these fans? I don't even know what I'm looking for, but I have the same card with the same problem. :(
I get some on Amazon, and some I can only get on Ali express. Search the name and version of the card. 2080 ti rog strix Then double tripple and quadruple check again with the pictures. Check the length of the wires, how they connect, how many pins at the header, and also check the size of the fan, 88mm or 90mm. Hope that helps. Some gpus I have had to order the fans multiple times because I didn't pay attention to how the 2 or 3 fans connect (1 short into a long, or 2 independent wires) so really compare the pics.
Great to see the work on this. I did something similar with a T1000. Temps are a solid 10°C lower under load.
Thanks for this video. Much appreciated. Helped me out.
Thanks for watching!
I have the exact same card, do you know the mm sizes for the pads you used? 🙂
At 2:26, i used 3mm gelid
ahhh thank you for letting me know :-) really appreciate that
these cards are crap, I bought two only to discover their temperatures suck, even with new thermal paste and quality pads. I returned them
lol, mine don't even cross 69 degress
thats just gross…..
Best thermal pad zero problem great result I went with the same struggle and ended up gelid extreme
Hi, could you please specify the pad thickness for the VRAM pads? Thank you!
These are rubbish over priced
im hearing that 0.5mm pads all around are the way to go for this aaand that 1mm< will be bad for temps, you say otherwise.
0.5mm is really thin. Maybe there has been a revision over the years? Looks like it was 1mm on the vram and 1.5mm on the vrm?
@@JoyofMining Gigabyte support got back to me, they said it's 1mm on the memmory and 1 o the VRM's and than 1.25 on theother set of VRM's. However they might have accidently given me the details of the Revision 1 ( what you have) , I have Revision 2, the
this channel makes me wish youtube never took away dislikes
PD19 is way better efficiency
try K5 Pro it works great
Sadly this isn't always accurate. For example, I currently have a GTX 1650 in a low power build I'm messing with and it's undervolted. Maximum power consumption seems accurate in HWinfo as it shows 60.8W at 100% load, but during idle its showing 32W, which is WAY higher than it should be. A GTX 1650 idles around 6-8W. Software like HWinfo is great for many things, but the readings aren't always 100% accurate. So just be aware of that.
Thanks for this. I have the 2080 version
Awesome vid man, I was wondering if you've done a repad for an MSI 2080 TI Gaming X Trio
Great video, very helpful! Could you tell me the Pinout of the RGB Header on the card? Is it 4pin 12v RGB or 3pin 5v ARGB? Thank you. I plan to control the RGB with an adapter via a motherboard rgb header to sync it with my other components.
Great video! I'm planning on replacing mine soon, 1.5mm pads is what you recommending to use? did you use 1.5mm for all of them? and by the way how did the 1mm go?
Can you show how the different breakout boards reacto to the PSU?
do you use lock tight on the screws?? helps huge with vibations.. just dont get the red labled one...lol
have the PD, do you have any mods for the 13.8V or the turn on resistor identifiers?? it would help a lot..thanx
What a dog shit video, why don’t you actually show how to open up the card and remove the fans and connect them? Thanks for wasting 3 mins of my life
What thermal pads did you use (or what was the W/mK)?
I've been using the Gelid Extreme.
@@JoyofMining thank you
Hi sir how about the brown out no electricity then comes back the electricity .. server psu with in 5 mins or 1 hr and the toggle switch always on?
If you breakout board has an actual on/off SWITCH then just leave it always on. If yours has a push button, then you can get a 12v remote trigger molex 4 pin, if your breakout board has the 4 pin remote trigger.
I got one of these for cheap because the fans don't work. I got new fans, plugged them in and the fans still don't work. Not sure what's going on exactly, or why, but it's time to get out the multimeter I guess.
Hi I tried to email you but doesn't send, what's the measurements for the rest of the pads? I saw someone used 1.5mm for the memory Soo is it 2.0 or 1.5mm

Not sure why it won't send, but pads on these evga cards are a mess. I used a micrometer to measure them all and have image files.
i had orderd the same thing only the noctua paste 3,5grams
What size thermal pads did you use?

i have 3080 colourful, today when clean my gpu thn one blade broken of my fan, then contact to customer care they can’t help me, how can i fix this broken fan ??? Im from Bangladesh,This broken fan is not Available in Bangladesh.
Aliexpress is a great place to look for replacement fans. If you can't find one, remove broken fan and zip tie a 120mm case fan to the gpu.
