I've noticed that I'm more introverted than I am extroverted...for me it's more of a financial decision as well...I find that when hanging out with other people you end up spending money you had not planned on spending, not because of peer pressure but more so the temptation you get entangled in at that point...I find that those around me don't mind shopping at the expensive supermarket whereas I go to the discount store, so I would rather go shopping by myself and go eat by myself just to avoid "going with the crowd"...I do see that my friends are from more affluent backgrounds and they don't have any obligations back home, so I try and do most things by myself to avoid throwing myself over a financial cliff, I do go out with them occasionally but most times it's just me

Sho MaMbatha..kunjani sies wami ! As a black South African who grew up in the UK, I had the pleasure of visiting Singapore in 2018. During my 5-day, 5-night trip, I explored the Singapore Zoo, Sentosa Island, and the breathtaking Gardens by the Bay. Although it was an expensive trip, it was truly magnificent! As a black person walking the streets of Singapore, I felt a bit isolated, but excited to spot another black person across the road. We exchanged warm greetings and had a great conversation - it turned out to be an African American brother! I explored various areas, including Robinson and Clarke Quay, and enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere. What struck me most was the sense of safety and freedom I felt in Singapore, unlike in South Africa and London, where I always have to be mindful of my surroundings due to crime. Singapore was a breath of fresh air - quiet, peaceful, and worry-free. I long to return in 2028 with my family and experience that beauty again. It was truly an amazing place!

I can relate to this!! I took a social media break for almost a year and a half (unintentional). It was so life changing and it made me different as a person at the end.

At some point I had an instagram account, but due to “insufficient likes” on almost every picture that I posted and feeling somewhat “betrayed” 😂especially by my closest friends because I would like theirs and comment on their pics but it wasn’t the same with me 😂😂 I decided to delete my account. That was approximately 5 years ago. Deleting my instagram account made it easy to delete my Facebook account. And I told myself that it is better to interact with people I know on WhatsApp than waiting to be validated by multiple strangers. I have had Twitter since 2012 and there I had zero interactions but hundreds of followers and I did not care because ever since I knew Twitter, it has always been a dirty field 😂😂

Are you still in China?

I actually feel like this right now, especially since I arrived here and am basically alone. It also consumes a significant amount of my time, which I could otherwise devote to other activities. It is time to sign out. It is beginning to exert pressure; at least I feel it. I lost my Twitter login information when I purchased a new gadget a few years ago and never had the desire to create a new account. The reason I started using social media (Instagram, Facebook, and UA-cam) is no longer effective for me. I need WhatsApp to communicate with my loved ones.❤

I take long breaks from social media here and there, its good to detach from it because its all an illusion

I think i was addicted to social media back in 2009-2012 after that i wasn't into social media like that. BBM was my favorite. I only use WhatsApp now.
