Rappahannock, that's usually empty, but then again, I'm going in the afternoons for my grad classes
Afternoons at Rappahannock are packed! 😲 I'm not sure about the upper levels since my parking permit doesn't cover those, but the lower levels are definitely far from empty haha
1:04 rap deck? im not familiar with which parking areas require what passes but its pretty close to horizon
Yup, you're right! I think it's the closest to Horizon, but parking is nearly impossible during peak times. You'll need to get there really early in the morning-it's rough sometimes
hey I'm an upcoming freshman who is about to start this fall semester, any tips as an upcoming freshman who would lives off campus ???
Hey, welcome to Mason! As a freshman, this is the perfect time to explore and find clubs that match your interests to get more involved. You'll see plenty of flyers around campus promoting different clubs, and GMU's Instagram pages are always posting about new events. I just uploaded a new vlog for the Fall 2024 semester-feel free to check it out! ua-cam.com/video/1YJ8qTzDTeY/v-deo.htmlsi=qrPvCJoDHk-gi1QX
I live right by there near the Wegmans and Fairfax corner lol
Hey next semester I’ll transfer to the Fairfax campus and I was wondering if at these sports facilities they have equipment for you there. Also, are all of these facilities open to use at all times? Do you need a reservation? Are most of these sports clubs or friends planning to meet and play together? I would appreciate knowing 😅 Thank you
To access the sports facilities, you'll need to be a full-time student or purchase a membership. The good news is that they usually provide the equipment you need, depending on the activity. I recommend checking out George Mason's recreational website for more details. Good luck with your transfer to GMU!
Heyyy so im gonna be a freshman here and plan on doing the same degree as urs (business analytics) any advice???
Hi, welcome to Mason! I hope you're enjoying your first year so far. My biggest advice is doing thorough research before committing to a degree. Here are some websites that might help you narrow down your choices in business or find more information on Business Analytics: catalog.gmu.edu/colleges-schools/business/business-bs/#text catalog.gmu.edu/colleges-schools/business/business-analytics-minor/
Commuting sucks and that what sucks about Mason too. From morning to night. So tiring. Versus people who can easily go back to there on campus housing or people who live off campus which is in walking distance. Having no where to go and having to do more things when u get home. Ooh my gosh. Glad I graduated already
how many days a week did you have to attend classes and how long were they each day pls pls lmk
@@BounPremBroco I went to campus everyday. Because I wanted the college experience versus just going to school only. Aka classes. So it doesn’t matter how long the class is. Or what day you go to class. For example if you only had classes Monday and wed. I still go to the campus the other days. Because I wanted the college experience. If you went to class and that it. U have 0 experience. No friends. No social life. No college life.
I completely agree-commuting can be exhausting, especially when you have a long distance to travel. Just going to class and heading straight home might not make up for a less-than-ideal experience, especially at a commuter school. I usually stay on campus all day to make the most of it and meet new people. Plus, many clubs and activities happen in the evenings, so if you stick around, there's always something to do. Hoping the Post-Grade life is treating you well!
@@JulieChau post grad life is soo much better!! Working with a work life balance and then can do whatever after feels more satisfying. School was more stressful. GMU teaches you to memorize and they’re all about the honor code. The real world ain’t like that lol
Nice video Julie ❤❤😇🙌
Aw thank you!!
Staying home virtually this semester, but I'm glad you're enjoying George Mason
Cool! How is your semester going so far?
@@JulieChau good, btw your video makes me feel lazy XD
Oh, the closest parking to Horizon is the Rappahannock Parking Deck! You can park there, even with the General Pass! The general pass is only good for the first two floors though (and they fill up fast). Awesome video btw!
Yeah Definitely! Unfortunately, whenever I go to Rap Deck, it's always full, with no parking spots available :( You gotta go early for those haha. Thank you for watching!
been stuck between JMU and GMU and been watching these to figure out where I should go
Both JMU and GMU have their pros and cons. What specific programs or aspects of student life are you most interested in at each school? That might help narrow down your decision
Another great video! Love watching your vlogs Julie ❤️
Thank you Rachel, you’re so sweet 💖
great vlog!! i wish my vlogs were as nice and well put together!
Thank you so much for your kind words! Your vlogs are unique and have their own style- keep creating and experimenting, and you'll continue to improve :)
Good job Julie. Video was great!
Love this!!
Thank you girly 💖💖
I MADE IT IN 😂

Hey! I'm thinking of transferring here, and I'd like to know what the party and social scene is like. I hear mixed reviews and wanted to know if you'd generally consider it boring or lively.
I’m transferring here too and I’ve heard it’s mixed with boring/not boring campus life. There are a ton of transfer and commuter students so that plays into it.
Hey! In my honest opinion, the party scene is not as big here compared to other schools. However, there is a diverse range of student organizations and events, so there are still opportunities to have a good time and meet new people. But ultimately, it comes down to what you make of it :)
@@allynfolletteI definitely agree! Campus life at Mason tends to receive mixed reviews, particularly because it's known as a commuter school.
Beautiful vlog Julie!
Thank you!

Thank you for the video. My daughter (who is a sophomore in high school) is interested in GMU. So, we have been browsing the internet for videos and info. I subscribed, so I hope to see more of campus life and the school. Thanks
That's great! GMU has a lot of career, social, and learning opportunities around in the area. Thanks for watching!
Nice video Julie ❤your smiling sooo cute 🥰 you also cute 🥰😇
Aw thanks!
girl when are you gonna post again, your vlog are so nice❤
Thank you so much 💗 more coming soon
Great video! I can imagine this video being especially helpful for incoming students who want to learn more about the campus atmosphere or even what it looks like in general.
I agree! While I create these vlogs for fun, I want to note I don't represent the experiences of all Mason students. Everyone's college career can be different!
are you able to play that many sports in gmu? how do you sing for them? I am going next year to gmu and I would love to do as much sports as you :))
Congrats on getting into GMU! :) And yes you can! I participate in intramural sports, and you can find more information here: recreation.gmu.edu/intramural-sports/
How did you managed to meet people ? I’m planning to transfer there next semester and I kinda scare about it
I totally understand that feeling as well! It took some time for me to adjust when I was a freshman. But don’t worry, i feel like college is one of the easiest ways to meet people because of the amount of things you can do on campus. You can meet people through student clubs, sports, classes, dining halls, study groups, events, etc.
Hii! I am also business major at gmu!
heyy that’s so cool what year are you?
I was just accepted into the Master's program at GMU and need more content like this
Congratulations! 🥳
Nice vlog
So good to see you again Julieee! Waiting for more vlogs! Same old distracted, gullible ping pong champ! ❤️
haha yupp thank you 😂 more coming in the future
you are so pretty! i love the energy 💜
aw thank you so much, so are you! 💖
@@JulieChau aww ofc! btw i just subbed to youu!💖
@@TalanaJordan tysm, same to you! I love your content :)
Love the vlog! ❤️ you're more involved on campus than I could ever hope to be lol 😅
Thank you Rachel!! How’s your semester going? I miss you sm!
@@JulieChau It's going great and I hope yours is too :) We should try to meet up on campus sometime!
this was such a cool video! i’m a senior who just got accepted into gmu and is def considering it! are u guys allowed to just play sports like that for fun without joining a team? if so that’s really nice
im also a senior and thinking about going to gmu!
Thank you, and congratulations on your acceptance into GMU! Yes, you can play sports for fun here at the gym if you are a full-time student. If you want to join a sports team, there are programs like Intramurals and Club, which I definitely recommend
Heyy I just got accepted too! ( I’m also a senior inHS)
@@navya2569 what’s your major ?!
Although I just started middle school this year and I’m going into 7th soon. I’m super excited to hopefully get into gmu like my aunt and uncle in 2029-2030! Woo class of 2029 (yes I’m young) also a question have u ever taken ap history? I’m interested for high school
Ayyy lets go! No, I have never taken AP history, but you should go for it if you're interested in that field. I hope you get into GMU in the future; best of luck.
i’m commiting soon! what advice would you say?
That's awesome! Some advice I would give to new students is try to get involved especially if you are a commuter (clubs and other activities are a great way to make friends) and deeply research what you want to do before deciding your major, it'll save you a lot of time & $
