It still doesn't sit right with me that the Hive were allowed to be rezzed by Ghosts, but no one else has been yet. Even with Micaah and Cayde's conversation about the Hive being chosen, the Eliksni were also chosen previously by the Traveler. If the Hive were capable of fitting the criteria, certainly there have to be a few Eliksni that qualify. What about all the Eliksni that were honestly just trying to start a new life on Europa and suffered under Eramis' corruption? Or the ones lost during their integration into the Last City? If Bungie wants me to believe the Hive are worthy, then Ramen better be revived as an Eliksni Lightbearer soon

What the Progenitors did to themselves is akin to Evangelion's Human Instrumentality Project. Both victim and perpetrator.

I think in entry 2, HM and and RS were also discussing the fate of other races the Progenitors uplifted with the Light, and how many of those races (the Swarm and the Conqueror as examples) used the Light, or at least the gifts of the Light, for destruction, conquest, and/or self-destruction. RS was a proponent of stepping in like doctors (or gods) to stop their uplifted peoples, and/or peoples they have not yet contacted, from wallowing in primitive suffering, self-destruction, etc. I think HM was initially hands off, emulating the Traveler itself as silent god, but then came to despair after a 3rd party ruined his burgeoning garden. Then HM took RS's advice on intervention for the greater good WAY too far, merging the idea with nihilism, swinging the pendulum in the extreme, and ultimately aligning with the faction that would revolt RS so much they would flee to the ends of the universe to escape the oncoming Exuviation.

The traveler is not always fair and does make its fair share of mistakes. But I think the Gardener at this point has a flawed outlook because of her insistence of refusing to reunite with the Veil. She’s a bit arrogant really. Like the Winnower, she’s focused on the greater flower game, in proving her point about complexity and diversity of life. But in doing so, being so focused on its personal vendetta against the Winnower, I think perhaps the gardener is looking past the truth, that the universe out of balance.

Random tinfoil theory: If the Traveller is restored by Ghosts returning to it in death, is it possible the Lucent Brood were created in effort to expedite that process? It's true that some unpaired Ghosts still take to field work, but largely they spend time searching for a partner or helping out in other ways around the City. With the Lucent Brood, a whole new subsect of these Ghosts are now out in the field, doing battle. Now they have a chance of fighting and dying themselves, or even engaging with Sol Guardians and potentially killing another Ghost and returning it to the Traveller. Whether it was a manipulation by Savathun or a direct action taken by the Traveller, with the Witness bearing down, we were all considering drastic measures.

It was my headcannon that Nox-4 was remote shutdown by one of Micah's parents, I've no doubt there's some extra mechanisms inside the Exo's that were meant as a failsafe for Clovis. Cayde has made mention in the past that he's done some things he's not proud of, and that he wasn't always the honorable Hunter Vanguard we knew. Not to mention we know he used to do covert wet works for Clovis. All this is to say, I think Cayde shot Micah

Glad you guys are back that was a boring week or so! Im a Beta D1 player and found you guys about year and a half ago. I listen to you guys every week and i often replay old episodes in between the new ones. The way you guys lay out the destiny lore together is amazing. My favourite episodes are the Awoken and books of sorrow, im listening to the awoken stories for a 3rd time haha im glad to hear destiny has some kind of future not only for the gameplay but because it also means you guys will continue also. Keep doing you fellas ❤

I hadn't noticed that temporal lag on our gun till it was mentioned here, and I got super excited when I saw it. Unfortunately, after watching it about a million times, I think it's just a graphical glitch. The shadows on our torso don't match anything at all, then it just snaps into place. My best guess is something about forcing the Khvostov made the engine a little confused

While I love the Stargate reference, I think they were referring to the Japanese practice of Kintsugi, repairing broken ceramics with gold, commonly thought to be a metaphor for embracing your imperfections. I love how they turned around Shayura's story from being just a stereotype to being a fully developed family and fireteam. Ya'll did a great job of presenting it as usual, awesome work

Im regard to Eris' involvement with the Hidden, I don't think we have an exact invitation date. But there is a Grimoire Card from D1, "Ghost Fragment: Hive 3", where Eris is debriefing Ikora in advance of the original Omnigul mission that gives us context. At this point Eris has already served the Hidden to the point where Ikora wants her to take a break. My personal guess is that Ikora recruited her shortly after Eris returned from the Hellmouth. Eris was viewed differently thanks to her Acolyte eyes and chose to live away in exile, giving her a different ear to the ground than Tower based Hidden agents would get

I definitely agree that Crucible and Sword Logic have a lot of similarities. I think the main difference is that the Crucible, at least in canon, is about learning and experience, where as the Sword Logic is about establishing yourself over others. A focus on growth vs. a focus on singleness
