Barn Loft Floor Demolition - Barn Renovation 1
Переглядів 1,1 тис.8 років тому
The barn loft has been neglected and is no longer safe. Previous owners have used the space to store unwanted items and more than one critter has called it home. But now I'm taking it back, with a little bit of effort this space can be made new again.

In this video, u cut out 3 studs and old header. The roof in that portion was held fast by your horizontal siding boards, in a load bearing wall. I would have gone with 3 new king studs; from sill to roof plate.
Ledger board should go across entire span of wall, as you said.
Good repairing carpenter.
Great save on barn corner carpenter!
Helpful
I’d love to see more
I like your work and the videos nice job Restroration is soo cool difficult but worthwhile
I can't even begin to tell you how little you understand about jacking a building and how easily one of those weird supports you have could come shooting out if you're ever able to get any real weight on them in the first place. Having a slanted stud sitting on top of a few boards thinking it's going to safely carry any load is completely bizarre. Gently pushing the walls with your hand to see if they'll move is further proof you have no idea what you're doing. How do videos like this end up on the first page? I have to figure that out! LOL
❤we are all learning and sharing ❤
reminds me of my barn!
Never put wood directly to concrete. Lesson one Concrete draws moisture always.
What would you use to put under the wood to seperate it?
@@kolopoustas a steel bracket

I use a little peace of P.T. Plywood
I'm interested to see if you're still alive. as there has been no response and judging by your "safety first" work ethic... solid money says you my friend, are dead.
He's alive! He responded to my comment recently. :)
Climb up another rung or two on that stepladder. You'll have a lot more strenght when your work is at chest or waist height than head height. Also, if something breaks loose it will hit you in the chest instead of your face.
Can you please post another video! Basically speaking, UA-cam is demanding you to go back to the barn and do some work ! Jan 2019
Awesome series, if you're finished with the project an update video would be sweet!
Thanks for the positive comments! There is still lots to do and I plan on filming more when I get back to it.
Hand and Home Good to hear, I look forward to it!
I love how you explain every little detail, very helpful!
I've got a very similar barn can't wait to see the progress you make each video.
