Todays developers need to go back and take inspiration from the games that came before COD4. You'll find mechanics that could use a reboot.

the pc version of battlefield 2 was so much better

I always thought the concept of switching characters like this in real time was so cool. I really hoped to see it again in another game but twenty years later still haven't.
