Can I have it 😂
Don't know, "can" you?
Best car I ever bought 370ks in and she still goes so hard
I had considered buying one a couple times seems to be mixed reviews, although ive an ex diesel mechanic mate that had the ranger and another with the bounty both high kms and what i was told biggest engine problem is high exhaust gas temp which they had no problems after upgrading the turbo, manifolds exhaust and intercooler. Pretty sure one was chipped and ran like a 2015 ute for something off the lot 2005. Still unsure if id take the risk
@@El-Pollo-Loco I purchased it because it has a tip tray and I wanted that but also because I could afford it. At the same time as this vehicle there was a Holden Rodeo sitting next to it with a tip tray too but $23000. This was $9000 and I paid $8000
The good old wl. Had mine since 2007. Still going strong after a few changes here and there. Easy vehicles to work on. Hitting 400k
Ford courier 1999 turbo diesel 2.5lt is a fucken heap of Shit! The only thing I haven’t changed is spark plug ( only because they don’t have any , HEAP OF SHIT!!!
Hahaha
Have just subscribed, you're awesome Martin. I'm wanting to replace drivers pivot spindle, yep those black things are hard to remove & yep have to go find some nuts that fell through the engine bay, live in regional Vic too. No success yet but just watched another vid on how to remove them, will have another crack later minus my friend who was 'helping', he broke the black thing in two, has removed so many nuts & bolts, I got him to stop eventually after a couple of hours by reinforcing this was the first of two to be done & that UA-cam was needed, my Worksop manual & tear down manual weren't doing us any favours (I was just retrieving the part for my bf as the spindle had broke in half!).You've made me laugh, I always share my failures with others for learning purposes, hope you get a smile too from all my nonsense. The look on his face was priceless when it all sunk in....we had to be somewhere else hours prior, that's why I stopped & he thought he'd have a crack & do it in a jiffy I guess. Sometimes you just have to leave, learn & return later, lol
It's always hard doing a job the first time. I found both the black covers only recently I've also had to do the spindles on my Courier Ute. That was a learning curve too
Resto mod appeald to a small audience good body and paint back in the day they were cop magnet
Everything I've driven is a Cop magnet until I got my White Ute. Cops leave the Farmers alone where I live because they pay the big taxes
Back in the day, when it was new, it sure was sharp looking.
I reckon it still looks great and would love one now
Cosmic Blue? either way nice car.
Yes, Cosmic Blue
Nice car but lose the wheels.
@@jimk7882 I think the owner would get upset if I lost their wheels
To be honest I didn't even notice the wheels because it was the first time I've ever seen one of these. Seen plenty of Panteras
mine has 392Ks and is still all original best bakkie ever
Well obviously I'm just a liar
The de Ville was a Statesman with the American 350 V8. The Constantia had the Holden 308 V8 or Chev 250 cu straight 6.
Coooool...! Very tuff looking, love the 350 badges. Would they be widened Camaro wheels? They look great. Thanks for the upload 😁👍
I have no idea about the wheels
@@NewstartGarageOZ No worries, she's an absolute beauty...! Can only imagine the noise and poke when travelling at 100kmh in top, pulling her back into 2nd gear and squirting to, say, 140kmh...awesome 👍
NICE
I agree
Is this really an HQ Statesman Custom,or a badge free restored example? Either way, it's a beauty...! Thanks for your great upload 😁👍
Looks like a debadged restoration
@@NewstartGarageOZ Yes, I think you're on the money. As a kid, I recall the Custom having a bench seat, and the dashboard without the extra vent that aircon vehicles had.
I wet myself
The best one made in my opinion was the 1974 HQ statesman diville
What’s up with the Square bulge in the bonnet ? Is that factory or has someone put that on it
It's an owner modification
Very cool car.
Most definitely
Dream car
Yes, it'd be nice
Nice car, but it could not match the ZC/D Fairlane in the style department.
I'm a Ford guy but I've never liked Fairlanes.
We had a car industry that produced awesomeness. Now we don't. Deliberate sabotage.
Problem is that they weren't making what most people were buying. So they sabotaged themselves
When Australia had a national identity...
We have one now, it's being China's and America's b itch
😬🥺😫
It's definitely different
Cool video im also gay
My father bought a new VC Valiant just around the time that I was learning to drive. I soon learned to break the rear tyres loose by holding the foot brake on while increasing the engine revs. The Torqueflite transmission would howl until you released the brakes and then the rubber would burn on the road. One night, with mates on board, a policecar was nearby at the lights and I got my first road traffic ticket. Power went to my head. (from Australia)
Do you remember what the filth were driving?
@@NewstartGarageOZ Not specifically (16 yo just pulled over! first time) but I think that they generally used Holden panel vans in thos days.
Could of picked up a blue with a white vinyl roof for 2k around 20yrs ago off a friend what a mistake passing that up.
These things happen
Memories! What a beaut.
The HQ is the best looking one
@@NewstartGarageOZ Absolutley. Uncle had a Kingswood, we had a Valiant both with bench seats but I’m positive both uncle and dad would have preferred this and would have if they didn’t have so many kids. 🤣🇦🇺🇳🇿
My XW still has it's bench seat. I love a bench seat
Awesome
Yes, wish it was mine
Velour seats?
Not sure, definitely fabric on the faces
Thats a tasty burger
I agree
Bonner
Very,Very Nice !
Yes, it is
Pleased to see an original style engine instead of a crap LS! Nice car but I’m not a fan of those bonnet vents. But Holden’s did have issues with overheating so maybe that’s why?
It's Australian made, that's all that matters to me
They didn't allow V8's in these old Holdens for a long time. I no longer live in Adelaide so I don't know if that's changed
Though I can surely appreciate a snazzy car, I've never actually been to a car show. I've been to several motorcycle shows though. (This video just popped into my feed).
I think thos is just an organised meet. Called Coffee N Chrome. For pre 1980 vehicles
@@NewstartGarageOZ Ah. Those sorts of things ere fairly common in Delray Beach, but I've never noticed one going on around here.
Wow! This blew up, and folks REALLY took offense. I mean, why assume you just can't drive a stick & you treat the vehicle like crap when it's altogether possible the darned thing is just a lemon. I had to recently talk my daughter into trading in her beloved VW New Beetle because it was a money pit.
I Googled about this vehicle after I got it and most of them have these issues. I'm fixing it. Just lots of roadblocks during the years. I do work on it every time I'm in Adelaide
Jeremy Clarkson can drive a vehicle for half an hour and tell people not to buy it and they get on their knees and praise him. I owned it for eight years but apparently I know nothing.
Taugh me one thing though. Keep your opinions to yourself because people are only interested in hating you for them
@@NewstartGarageOZ You must have been floored by how many views it got when it happened though. Damn. If I could have, I would have kept my '77 VW pop-top forever. I LOVED that car. I did a lot of work on it in the years that I owned it. My little Kia Rondo that I bought when I moved to New Hampshire turned out to be a real beast. I just thought it was affordable, and I liked that it had 3 rows of seating, with the back two folding flat in 4 sections. Very versatile. But then I kept it on the road with minimal investment for 14 years... I'd still have it if my friend's son hadn't caused so much body damage in that accident a few months back. It was still running just fine, but the body damage was enough for my insurance company to declare it a total loss.
@@NewstartGarageOZ I bought my mum's 2014 Nissan Versa Note and it feels like I'm driving a roller skate. 😂
Those 179 badges were a real 'collectors' item back in the day. They would mysteriously disappear from your car.
Bet they're worth a bit now too
Very Nice Restoration !
Certainly is
It’s a thing of beauty.
Most definitely
Perfect. That windscreen shape!
It's amazing when you compare it to what they were selling
Mine drives better than the new utes. So please becarful cause where you bought it did not look after it.
I bought it from Grangeburn Holden. They only had it to sell, so it's not their fault
That blue interior is beautiful.
Certainly is
oooh florantine gold what a bewtee .
See lots of desirable vehicles at Coffee N Chrome
Once on top of all the maintenance, you've got yourself a decent truck. Sorry to hear your unable to use your arm.
Fortunately my arm improved a little bit not enough to be able to do repairs at the same ability as before.
THAT WAS MY FIRST CAR IN AUSTRALIA AND THATS BACK WHEN THEY STILL MADE REAL CARS ,,, NOT LIKE TODAY. NEVER LET. ME DOWN EVER !!!!!
Cool
Did you move here from the UK?
@@NewstartGarageOZ CANADA
@@KenHubbard-jz1vq oh, wasn't expecting that
@@NewstartGarageOZ WELL YA AND AUSSIE'S AREN'T EASY TO SNEAK UP ON ,WENT THERE IN 1970 AND LEFT IN 2017 NOW TIERED IN VIETNAM , 🍁🇻🇳🍻🍺
Simple and dependable
No Data to gather via this one, that's for sure
Had mine for 10 years! Only ever had to change the radiator twice. Change the glow plugs once and bottom slave cylinder and wishbone bushes. But for 10 years id say that's pretty good. Goes every day like a champ!!
So the possibility of me using reverse psychology to drive the prices down so I can get s cheap one to get the parts I need is way beyond comprehension. If you actually bothered to look at the rest of my videos you'd see that that's exactly what I did. You'd also see the videos of the work I've done to fix this extremely unreliable vehicle because at no point have I said "I don't like it". I wasn't going to respond but most of you here have no f'ing idea about anything. Makes me wonder if there's any f'ing thing as Human intelligence at f'ing all, FFS!
I rode one once, it wouldn't turn for me, maybe I was going too fast. I didn't like it. I like to go fast...not just putt around.
They were heaps dangerous because of that issue for one and a propensity to roll. It's their reputation that made me record the video
Very charming cars.
A unique piece of Motoring and South Australian history
Can i buy ,i love it Bless
I don't think it's for sale
