It's basically getting your player to look at the puck in any way possible. Normally you'd do it by just facing the puck and staying square. The clip I showed is kind of a bad example because my player is facing away from the puck but if you can see closely, my player's head does turn to see the puck first which allows my guy to intercept the puck. From certain angles it'll work. Sometimes if you player is in a turn animation and his head is all over the player looking, you may have everything else checked off and still miss the puck so that's why when looking back on plays, make sure everything on the list is checked off then the game can be blamed if it goes there.

Yeah if it's there, it's a pass they should read. Some teams prefer to reset the play on the face-off just depends on how each team wants to play it.

@@HackAttack34 in 3's i'll go nuclear against a cpu defender with that pass. i mean if i have confidence the center can win it straight back i should mention. against a human still good. 6's is a little different, but man i don't got the patience to wait for a 6's drop in to unfold. too many people being picky/choosy about who they play with and against.

@the.wayne.b Yeah 3s there's more ice to work with so quick breakout plays happen a lot. 6s drop ins is not really a good place to grow as a player. It's not how it used to be. I recommend playing elos in Byfugliens server if you're a part of it. 6v6 match ups with no ai. Most of the guys play in leagues so it's more comp than drop ins if you're looking for that.

@@HackAttack34 i'm not a part of it. where do i find that? mostly what i'm looking for is just semi decent players to play with. man drop ins are doing me dirty this year, its usually me, and a level 3 or 7 i matched with against a bunch of max levels who play together all the time lol

@StrategicWins Works too I've done it many times. Can't do it outside the slot in 6s but it can disrupt the play.

It can definitely be done right there though. As long as your balance stat is decent you can tie most forwards up

@StrategicWins Right but the play itself was done much faster than my ability to tie the player up. I wouldn't try to overextend for it cause you can get caught in a bad spot. The checklist is for plays where there isn't time to stick lift or plays outside the slot.

@GoodSupply For defense I'd use defensive dman with gold truc but I haven't used big builds yet but can try out a few and get a video out when I've put some together

@archbunker7 Don't really know much about it. If I see a reason to do a video on it, I'll do it, but probably not.

@lightlybatteredjustcrispy Depends on how you're trying to use it. It's for picking up loose pucks. Quick pick is for interceptions and no contest is for puck battles. Magnetic doesn't really help for defense.

@twick3817 Go to controller settings and turn off auto back skate. That option is on by default if you haven't changed it. That allows you to turn freely whenever.

@masterlegacy1 Yeah you have to adapt to your teammates and see when rotations can happen. You can fill a lane temporary then quickly get back if no one rotates after. Just depends on the situation.

@ Back in 12,13,14,15 I was in a top 50 club and played D stopped playing for 8 years. Got back into it this year since HUT is so bad. Enjoying it for the most part other than a ton of bad players in OTP. Love timing hits when forwards pick up the puck from their dman. As soon as they get it just level them haha.

@masterlegacy1 Drop ins are a hit or miss sometimes nowadays. Old gen OTP was really something else. Wish it was more like that because the lobbies were always filled up.

@ 3’s i can find a game quick sometimes 6’s is really rough though. The player base seems to have dwindled down some because you are absolutely right you could find a game instantly in OTP.

@masterlegacy1 That's due to how often people are quitting. There's top guys now that never play drop ins anymore. It just isn't competitive as much to play drop ins. Also now you select your position to play and then search for a lobby that needs that position instead of how OTP was where you join a lobby first then select the side and position that's open.

@jasonschell6036 That's true too. It kinda goes with your player seeing the puck. When you're moving around, your player's head is usually all over the place causing your guy to miss it.

That can have an effect, but that's more for puck battles than interceptions. Since I was close to the guy, that might of counted as a puck battle that he won but I still think if the checklist was completed, I would have disrupted the play.

I'll do a video on this but mainly you want to hold your stick out when they're on the rush. Turn and skate with them, hold your stick when they get close, don't let them by you. Defensive zone you can hold it out from certain angles but mainly want to time and jab the poke check while staying inside.

@@HackAttack34thanks for the update. My team and I go games without seeing the ‘green’ bullseye pop up, but then for some games (like 1 in every 15 games) there will be ‘green’ bullseyes showing up like you can then hit greens again. IDK super weird.

There's servers like byfugliens server that has many more competitive players looking for games in 3s and maily 6s if youre looking to play against better talent more often. You can join leagues as well if interested.

@@HackAttack34 yeah also the matchmaking needs fixed Divisions no longer matter this year. cant get out of Division 10 because it no longer puts you up against people around your skill level . Last night my buddy and me constantly went up against elites platinums or Diamond's and what makes it worse it was 3 against 2 because the Ai is so awful they were pretty much letting the other tean win also this ranking system is Garbage has nothing to do with skill way to many cheaters in world of cheater mode lol

@ryanrobertson9148 I think it still gives you a boost in passing. It also can auto sauce at times even with icon passing
