St Ives Tramway
Incredible colour footage, possibly from from the 1920's, showing the tramway that may have connected St Ives quay in Cornwall with the surrounding mines and quarries.

Thor's Castle - a model railway in an A3 storage box
Переглядів 100 тис.4 роки тому
An N-gauge model railway in a space 43x33x10 cm, using Kato Compact Line track and Kato Pocket Line chassis. The model depicts a fictional tourist railway in the Derbyshire Peak District. The landscape and trackbed are constructed from extruded foam, finished with artists' acrylic filler and tinted gesso. To increase its apparent depth, the scale varies from 1:87 at the front to 1:220 at the back.

Amazing, nice
Wonderful layout. Did you have any problems with the grades ?

Kent & East Sussex Railway John Bradshaw love louis shirley
Initially I didn't read where this was. I know Thor's cave and all the narrow roads and the tunnel where that narrow gauge system existed. One of the best places in the Derbyshire dale✨👍✨
Wow, that’s a really small train!
My HO train (9 trains) is packed since 2005. No space for 10 m2. This is a great idea....
Amazing detail and narrative.
Awesome layout. Very ingenious use of the space and l love the fantasy theme.
Great work done brother
Oh, it's so wonderful!
What scale
That is so incredibly cool! The details are amazing, the amount of track and features is stunning in so small a space! (Glad Thor made an appearance for this video). I salute the enthusiast/artist who created this.
Super. Hello from the Tracy Mountain Railway in Colorado. 💙 T.E.N.
Beautiful. A tiny masterpiece!
Awesome. Just love it
Amazing, very well done. This would be a perfect project that does not require a lathe space.
Reminds me of the old OO9 "Aberbinear Bayfore", it was in Railway Modeller in Oct 1975 I think. Nice layout!
The way the trains disappear and re-appear in and out of the tunnels is an amazing audience captivating experience. So enjoyable to watch. ✨👍✨
Yeah okay
Absolutely amazing 😊
rock climbers too! Still waiting on the train in a rolling drum thing, no one's made one yet
I love the tiny worlds of n scale. While I do HO myself I adore seeing people's full layout fits in a suitcase.
this is like a whole little world in a box nice, you have talent
Love it. I'm building an 009 Coffee tagble layout at the mo, love small sized layouts and micro layouts, Carl Arendt would have loved yours
Excelent
a jewel !!😀
Really well done.
Simply Fantastic !!!
wow that was awesome! I love the drop down panel idea!!
Hi. Very good video.
Hi. Very good video and system.
Love the work.
Very well done. Your video shows it off to its fullest advantage.
Great for my British modeling ideas!
Amazing
Beautiful!! Thanks for sharing!!!
I want a little cute puppy!
Spitzenmäßig gemacht . Hut ab ! Bitte weiter so !!
Are these N gauge or Z trains?
This would be N gauge. Kato does not seem to do Z gauge. The turn outs are radius 150mm.
@@bradster1708 thanks
@@NixTrains glad to help
Incredibly creative, I'm hoping that my model layout might look somewhat as good!
There was a turntable Infront of the engine shed if memory serves me right
What great little layout. I have an old suitcase that belonged to my grandfather (he liked trains) and I was wondering if I could get a decent layout in it. Now I think I can. Thanks.
Just like the train... I think I can, I think I can...
Great job
You've done a great job! I give you a like and I subbed. 👍
I am trying to figure out the track plan but not doing very well. Any way you can share that? Would be most appreciated!
The middle one of the 5 tunnel mouths is a dummy (filled with shiny black card to give the impression that the track continues). Apart from that, it's a simple figure-of-eight: leftmost tunnel connects with furthest right, passing just behind the loop that connects centre right tunnel mouth with centre left. The track plan was included in an article about the layout published in the N Gauge Journal, 2/20.
I thought that might be the case but was not sure (about the upper dummy spur) but tried to imagine a possible connection behind the scenes. Also since you ran three different trains in the video, I was trying to imagine somewhere the third one was hiding. I really like the layout - am looking for a small layout to have at least two small trains on (wish to have a siding for a third but....) i think that considering my situation, your layout is probably the idea I will use. Doubt that I have access to that magazine but thanks for that information. I really appreciate your thoughtfulness to reply.
@@trainsandtunes reminds me of a trackplan in a Klambach (sp?} publication from the 70's or 80's called Gorre & Daphetid.
@@jimholmes4224 I suspect the third train was the result of an 0-5-0 switcher, not a hidden siding.
Transfered 8mm footage to digital? Very nice.
T'other way around - digital video run through the "8mm" app!
This is truly a wonderful little layout! Very impressive work!
Nice!
Nicely done. Quite the locomotive stable for such a tiny line! On30?
nepete7 I'm glad you like it. It's 1:43 scale, 16.5 mm gauge - I think that the nearest US scale would be On20. Each loco is named after one of my grandchildren; now I need one more!
