Reception Honoring 75th anniversary of the Fulbright Program
I am a highschool student from Trenčín province from Slovakia and to be honest I am really glad to see that many foreigners come and live here. Though even I have criticism of Slovakia, it is mostly centered around my way of living and my work. Few problems that do exist are kind of noticible when you really look into Slovakia. Problems such as wages, state of the economy, state of politics and such. Though I see light at the end of the tunel as they say because our school is gonna have a 1.7 milion euro modernisation package that is set to begin construction around this summer. There are finally some good people in politics like our president Zuzana Chaputová such and such. All and all I hope you will notice the good rather than point out the bad, I hope you go visit our castles and mountains and countless other places that sadly even I have not visited.

There are no Slovakian people. There are Slovak people. There is no such word Slovakian. Slovak mountains, Slovak people, Slovak cities etc.
There is such a word as Slovakian. Slovak is nationality, Slovakian is citizenship. A native Slovakian is a Slovak. An immigrant who has lived in Slovakia for 8 years can be a Slovakian, but is not a Slovak. Slovakia is the nation founded by Slovaks. Slovakians are members of that nation. Slovakia does not allow dual citizenship. A Slovak who obtains citizenship of a different country is no longer a Slovakian, but is still a Slovak.

@@nathangamble125 Slovensko has allowed dual citizenship since February 2022, lol. I've been an immigrant in Canada for the past 7 years and I just got my Canadian citizenship when I turned 18. I still have my Slovak one as well.

No, they didn´t forget. Religion is not as important as you think. Only small part of Slovaks are true christian believers. Big part just pretend to be, that they don´t make grand parents or parents mad and 1 quarter are total atheists. Including me 🙂 Please don´t speak for everyone. Thank you.
I am a slovak and have never really felt that more than 1 out of 10 people really are christians. It is not wrong to support religion but saying it is "our" tradition is just lying.

yep people tend to think Czechoslovakia was part of Soviet Union also my wife (she is also foreigner) .. but it´s ok. Eventually someone will tell them :D
Yeah and I can make a video with around 350 000 people who left Slovakia since we did became part of the EU. It's all nice if you have some standards of living not just to pay your bills. Greetings from the UK.
After 18 years of living in SK and speaking / understanding. Better sometimes not to understand some Slovak, some Slovaks are really Nazi minded. Fico / Kotleba and his criminal gangs. Still a lot of corruption. For me time to leave 😀😀😀😀
