Checking in from 2024. Even with all these insanely high contracts going for QBs, it’s crazy the LT is still one of the most consistently highest if not the highest paid position on any given NFL team.
Taylor immediately knew that Theismann had endured a terrible injury, and waved to the sidelines for the medics. This was mistaken initially for taunting, but as Taylor put his hands on his helmet in shock they realized he was motioning for help. You gotta realize at the time, Lawrence Taylor was an absolute terror on the field, literally one of the best linebackers to ever walk onto the field.
He could be high as a kite and drunk as a skunk, yet he could still walk on that football field and knock the hell out of any offensive player holding the ball. LT was just different.
It’s true that Left Tackles are highly coveted and paid lots of money and they can thank Taylor for that. Reality is though that no player since has played outside linebacker like Lawrence Taylor. So now they’re overpaid.
This is so weird I just randomly watched this on UA-cam and then jump too google and the first story that popped up was “Lawrence Taylor’ arrested for failing too report as Sex Offender” 🤦🏻♂️
This is a great overture. In no universe should showing the worst leg injury in NFL history be considered good, Sandra bullock pulls this off expertly.
Great point but in my opinion this is the second worst leg injury in NFL history. The most horrific leg injury I’ve ever seen belonged to Napoleon McCallum, and coincidentally that one also occurred on Monday Night Football. It is VERY hard to watch, there was legitimate concern that McCallum might’ve had to have his leg amputated, and I honestly wouldn’t advise anyone to go out of their way to search for the video but it is on UA-cam. You’ve been warned
@@johnselwitz5362 ewwwwwww I just found that play that is absolutely disgusting and you 100% warned me… both gotta be gross bro. As a giants fan ppl give us shit over that play but like LT immediately is looking for help like he knows he’s hurt It’s a violent sport we play lmao
@@krb961 Lawrence Taylor was an intimidating force on the football field who was possessed with shutting down any opposing offense he faced, but the LAST thing he ever wanted to do was seriously hurt someone. I don’t see how anyone can give Giants fans grief for that play, LT was clearly distraught and was the first one to wave the medics onto the field. It’s ridiculous for other people to blame LT or the Giants for that play, because Theismann doesn’t even blame LT for the injury, he knew it was just an accident. A horrific accident, sure, but an accident nonetheless.
that doesn't make sense. the guy literally broke the other guy's leg. sure, it's a game and you wanna win, but i wouldn't one any position to go hurting another player like that just to win a game
AlmaDiaoh946 look at LT's reaction.. he's horrified. He intended to cream Theisman but he never wanted him hurt. Leg twist on freak play it was an accident.
I would like to see Mahomes, playing with these Warriors, he Would not last one minute on field.

The pure folly of trying use a tight end to block Lawrence Taylor
Ewwwww but cool

Not one, THE BEST linebacker
welp
The goat. Changed football forever.

This is the reason why the whole game of football changed
I just had a 3 1/2 long water shit
My cousin played with LT, you can see him going head to ground in that play. Gary Reasons. I was surprised when we saw this at the movies. Lol.
I missed out on the 80s Giants but I can tell you Gary Reasons was considered very underrated in that stacked LB core they had
You had LT, Carson, Reasons, Pepper Johnson and Banks. Pretty much as good as it gets
I cringed like a whipped dog when I saw Theisman's leg bent and twisted like that. What a nightmare injury.

1:20 me tryna act like someone deleted my project knowing I never did it

Willis McGahee suffered a pretty horrific knee injury. I would not recommend watching it, take my word for it, it’s really bad.
LT stand for both Lawrence Taylor and Left Tackle. Coincidence? *I THINK NOT!*
Every great offensive left tackle can thank Lawrence Taylor for making it one of the highest paid positions in the game.
ladanian tomlinson stands for LT he wasnt left tackle
@@Scorpio-rk6kt second LT Lawrence Taylor is the goat
@@Scorpio-rk6ktand both LTs are Hall of Famers, ironically
Why did the movie began with showing a horrible injury?
Neilahi S to paint a picture of why the LT position is so coveted in the NFL.
Left tackle is where Micheal ohar plays

Lawrence Taylor wasn’t a LT he was a Linebacker.
LT loves crack rock! HTTR
