There are so good I made some for my class .
so very lovely to hear! thank you for letting me know and for sharing origami with your class.
Love it
Love this!
Oh Wow! Thank you so much for this model Lizzie! I cannot wait to make it! I am a blossomaholic and Autumn is a kind of second blossom event for me. Thank you very much indeed. :-)
So lovely to hear - so very glad you enjoyed. So agree on that dual and opposite but similarly magical beauty of autumn and spring. Oranges, reds and yellows in those glowing beguiling colours that glow through the grey. Let them bring that warmth and joy. Happy folding x
Sad not to be able to be with you all today Lizzie ... respponsibilities prevented me this time. Not much time to write, just to say that to turn the decorated box upside down and add an electric candle and you have a lovely lantern! Take care and I hope you can enjoy the lovely autumnal colours as my loved one and I are doing :-)
Thank you so much Eryk for your message which greeted us all with the live folding. We missed you too but glad you are looking after your loved one. A lovely idea an electric candle for this little box. I hope you're enjoying the beautiful colours of autumn leaves. Look after yourself and take care.
Thank you, Lizzie. That brought me a little bit of peace and tranquillity before bedtime.
Thank you for this lovely comment - truly so very lovely to hear. I'm so glad. That's my hope it will bring a lovely moment for our self-care. Happy folding x
I hate this video i can’t do the thing it made me😢
Sorry it was frustrating. Origami is all about persistence and being kind to yourself - it often does take a lot of frustration in learning something new, but it's also why it can be rewarding. There's also no obligation to try either - each to their own. Take care.
Lovely model to be the front of a greetings card maybe?
Thank you Lizzie I remember the start of a new school year with a new unchewed pencil! We had [in the 1950's!] a pencil protector - a tin cap which protected the point. Later in the term it fitted on the other end of the pencil and became a 'pencil stretcher' to lengthen the stub of pencil to make it manageable! I still have one of these, it is brass and was a give away gift with Crawford biscuits or crackers! This model would be useful on notice boards to indicate where a document needs to be signed or maybe useful as a diary place holder ... Hope you are well Lizzie. Time for beautiful Autumnal colours ... not as pretty as blossom in spring but vastly more plentiful. I missed sakura time this year being in hospital but I shall enjoy the colours of this season. Maybe time for leaf origami? Take care, Eryk :-)
Dear Eryk, so wonderful to hear from you and thank you so very much for sharing this beautiful memory. What a brilliant idea to keep a precious pencil safe. Love that idea of a pencil to indicate signing. In hope you're keeping well and enjoying the start of this colourful cosy season. I'm definitely thinking of cosy folds. I'm in the wards more - next live session will be on the 9th Oct 2pm. Take care and sending very big waves, smiles and kind wishes to you and your loved ones
Hi Lizzie - I just found you! What a wonderful channel you have, spreading love and especially the love of origami. Have also found Origami Pulse CIC. Loving the ethos of what you do. Mel x (UK - origami enthusiast).
Hi Mel! That's so very kind - so appreciated. Let's keep up that love and care - it's needed more than ever gentle time folding and finding how much that can connect people and bring joy. I never cease to be amazed! Happy folding to you x
Hi Lizzie! Thank you for this fun video. As both myself and my loved one have osteo arthritis and hand limitations I don't think we would do well at this but it looks fun for the more able bodied. I have at last recovered from my operation and found many uses for the puzzle square you demonstrated. As you may have seen there is a super way of establishing thirds in the latest B.O.S magazine. If this done cut half an inch strip off the end and use it as a guage. I often make an 'S' shape cross section as seen from the end and then "smoosh" it as the Americans say. Take care Lizzie and yes, be nice to yourself is good. :-)
धन्यवाद दीदी जी इससे मेरी बहुत मदद हुई 😎😎
तुम्हारा बहूुत - बहुत स्वागत है! सुनकर बहुत ख़ुशी हुई और मैं आपको बधाई देता हूँ।
After you construct the ring of five, how do you add a ring of six to the ring of five could you please explain? Thank you very much.
just keep in mind what you aiming for and play with the pieces - you will learn by doing. Just know it is possible. You'll find hexagons are flat while pentagons are a bit curved. I've only found out how to do through making - you'll get there.
Watching from Australia. Many thanks for this great video and taking the time to show us with this very honest demonstration. Was great to see how it can get a little tricky and frustrating during the construction stage but perseverance results in the finished item. Brilliant.
Big waves to you 'down below'! Thank you so much for taking the time to share and so happy to hear this was helpful and also on the persistence side. It's a fun journey and wishing you much happy folding and constructing.
Thank you Lizzie. I really loved the one I made on the livestream you did so have made a couple more to give as gifts! :)
Super model Lizzie. Wish I could have joined but no notification appeared in advance but I am busy preparing to go home after my trauma. I can do all I need to do to be released into the wild LOL. This model is great for letting youngsters find the simple fun of life rather than digital internet pleasures. Races to see whose spins longest and when made with white paper a spiral could be painted on to give the illusion that creates when spinning. I have done some rocket / racing car origami and left them about, they disappear quickly! As always, many thanks and best wishes. Eryk :-)
Dear Eryk, so sorry you've had such a tough spell and hope you've now returned to home and finding comfort, joy and creativity abound. Such lovely ideas and so glad you enjoyed this spin of freedom. It really is such a joy and I've been asking around the masters - and it seems unclear how this emerged but most probably in Japan. It's such a beauty. So sorry the notice sprung up too late and partly from my own quite sporadic appearances. Sending you well wishes and continued wishes for healing and I hope a good healthy spell ahead to whirl like this spinning top. Happy folding! x
Phenomenal rockets! 👍
Hi Lizzie I have been on the wards almost as much as you since I last wrote. Admitted twice and the second time was emergency to remove ruptured gall bladder. Risky at 73 apparently. Being cared for by my wonderful partner and on the mend slowly. I am sorry that your loved one has endured diffiiculties. I hope for the best for them. My friend is still awaiting a new kidney after covid first started. Attempting today's fold sometime. Very best wishes to you and for your loved one. Eryk :-)
Hello Eryk! So sorry to hear too much time in hospital but so glad you've been getting that needed care, and now nurturing at home I hope for you with your loved one. Very many thanks for your kind words - it's been a hard 2 1/2 years with loved one going through long covid, but finally it's getting better thank goodness. So grateful for that, Hope you can fold that rocket and aim for the stars and let the imagination soar. Take care and wishing you good healing and plenty of rest of kindness for yourself. Very kindest wishes, Lizzie
@@DrLizzieBurns thank you so much for your kkind words Lizzie. I have little strength but I folded the rocket! Trying to walk without falling over and many crazy side effects but I am getting there. Sad to have missed the blossom this year but I am lucky to be able to hope to see next year's! I shall meditate for your loved one when stronger. Take care both and thanks again for your caring words for me and my loved one. :-)
@@erykfreethinker7147 thinking of you and wishing recovery and patience. So sorry it's been a tough year and hope with the care you're getting it will be onward and upward (like the rocket). Many thanks - no need to meditate, loved one is getting better - it's been over 2 years which has felt so long. Thank goodness for recovery and to the kindness and encouragement of others. Sending you and your loved ones best wishes for improving health, and times for happy folding too :)
@@DrLizzieBurns Smiles, thumbs up and thanks Lizzie :-)
Thanks Lizzie, this was a lovely before bed wind down to do. Can't wait to see how it turns out tomorrow :)
that's so lovely to hear. I love that evening folding and waking up with a gift to enjoy the next morning. I hope it's worked well. Enjoy your new bloom!
Keep it up! 👍🙂
I hope see the recording😭😭
Oh no I am so late
So sorry Alberta - I hope you're keeping well and thank you for joining after. Wishing you happy folding!
Thank you Lizzy! I added a green background to my blossum from the live stream, think I went a bit wrong as I dont have the alternating colour effect you created because the petals line up too well but it holds it beautifully
So glad you enjoyed and well done with creating a background too! It's a bit of a puzzle but all the more fun I hope. Happy spring! Let good things unfold.
Lovely model Lizzie. Happy Easter! I am poorly at the moment so I may not be able to be at the group fold if it is this Wednesday. Sakura is so special and I needed this very much as a distraction. Have a lovely Easter!
Dear Eryk, so sorry you've not been feeling well and wishing you recovery soon. Thank you so much for you message and wishes and wishing you also a wonderful time of year thinking of unfolding blossom and the promise of new beginnings. So agree Sakura is a very special time and let this lift you and inspire. Take care and big waves x
@@DrLizzieBurns poorliness turned into hospital emergency and now discharged a different life with a resolution to come. I am in the most loving hands and learning to cope. I had the most wonderful care from every department, lovely staff and talked with some interesting patients, showing one how the pleats in the paper white pill cups worked. Some grim stuff to come but I am lucky to be here to get it. Still missing my blossom!
@@erykfreethinker7147 I do so hope you feel better soon. Hang on in there and glad to hear you're in a place of care and I'm sure bringing thanks for that too. Oh yes those pill cups! I've not thought about it before but you're so right - the beauty and practical brilliance of folds! I'll be looking at them next time with fresh eyes. I hope you're able to get home soon and hope you can see some blossom soon too x
Beautiful swan! 👍😍
Sad I was sleeping when you were live 😕
take care and the next live fold is on the 20th so maybe a chance to join then if you're free.
goated
Oh no! The second time I have just missed a group fold! Unavoidable I am afraid Lizzie! So frustrating as my hands were ready to fold and crease etcetera! I hope all is well with you. I shall 'join in' belatedly. Best wishes from Eryk :-) P.S. A lovely model which I shall share with my loved one who gave me a book on origami on Valentine's day! :-)
Thank you so much and sorry paths keep crossing. So wonderful to hear hands are better and returning to form. An elephant felt a bit random but maybe needed! Hop you can make it today and if you can't no worries. Sending big waves and kindest wishes as always, Lizzie x
Lovely model Lizzie. Sadly I could not join the live group - I had a really important medical appointment and got home after the live finished. I hope I can be with you for the next group - life is a lot more complicated these days but in positive ways. Good to have my fingers working for folding and calligraphy ectetera and after a successful op so has my loved one. Take care and thank you for all you do :-)
Thank you for your lovely message and so appreciated. It was a one-off at this time and clearly not a good time for most - but at least it happens! No problem at all - different times for me comes from life being more complex too. Very glad to hear your fingers are back to creative form and so glad all has gone well for your loved one. Take care too and thank you for your kind words - very much appreciated. Wishing you a good spell.
Happy new year Lizzie. I was late, sorry. I hope enjoy the next live. You are Amaizing :)
Very kind of you. Wishing you a happy and healthy new year. Take care and happy folding :)
PS I pressed 'like' icon but it did not record, I relaunched and it still did not change!
This is a lovely model, I wish I had time right now to make it. I made several of the crane gift bags for gifts for my loved one from irridescent paper and she loved them. Interesting solutions have to be found when the paper is too slippery and wants to be released from the crease all the time! i hope notifications work for me to be able to join the next group fold. Happy New Year to you and yours Lizzie! Eryk :-)
Many thanks Eryk! Wonderful to hear of you folding and sharing the crane gift bag with loved ones. Next fold on Wednesday at 2pm if you're free. Sending big waves and kind wishes for the new year. Happy folding :)
Thank youuu🥰
Yes. All same units and put together in the same way. It's just about patterns - if put together eg around groups of 3 makes a cube (6 units), next up around a pattern of 4 each face (12 units), next 5 each face (30 units)... @@annao1389
@@annao1389 Ja.
Showing the "origami booklet Fold and Give: Boxes and Pouches" reminded me that I also have a copy of this booklet. I like the patterned paper that comes with this booklet as the pages at the beginning of the booklet. I haven't used the supplied paper/pages as I don't want to spoil the booklet. But fun to make the models inside.
Oh wow, wonderful to hear you have this too. I love how it's also recommended as a gift for people to learn about Japanese culture. I'm the same - I love the patterned papers but too precious to use! I've gone for trying out with rough paper first, then using gift wrapping paper as they need to be much bigger (and I don't want to remove pages from the book). It's only be folding these old traditional designs that you really appreciate their beauty. It's all about giving.
Wow! How did that make cranes and boxes that small?! Astonishing! I adore Japanese creations. So precise and sophisticated and amazing
Thank you so very much for your kind words. I'm so thankful for this astonishing opportunity.
Lovely to see you again! What an amazing trip you’ve had….incredible!
Thank you, Lizzie. So beautiful and so calming to do. Could make a whole string of tiny ones and use as a tree decoration or even a necklace!
so lovely to hear, so glad and enjoy the beauty and calm you create with your fingers. Happy folding
The way I messed up 6 times just because I loved the way you described bits about the WWI <3
thank you so much, I'm touched to hear that.
🥰🥰🥰🥰
Hi Lizzie, it took a while but I made this - without the use of my right index finger .... not easy but we have to be adaptable and freethinkers! I have made these in the past and glued them back to back with a sweet or aphorism inside and put them on a Christmas tree. This one will be used in a similar way :-) Enjoy all you see and do on your travels, ask about Kozo paper maybe. Safe journeys! Eryk :-)
Thank you so very much! Back with a live fold on the 29th Nov. Wishing you continued healing and a good few weeks, take care
MUCH LOVE FROM BRAZIL <3333
Many thanks!
Oh dear! Just found the notification for your live demo at 3pm ... too late sadly :-( My finger is still in a splint but I love to watch even if I cannot take part. Hope all is well with you Lizzie. Maybe an origami leaf fold with Autumn colours would be a good option for another day?
Dear Eryk - so sorry the notification came up too late. I'm back in 2 weeks time. There will be a gap over November as I'll be in Japan!!!! Do hope your finger is on the mend. Love this idea Eryk of an autumn leaf! SO agree and so appreciated - I took up your delightful challenge and next fold is devoted to you. Kindest wishes, Lizzie
Bless your heart Lizzie, I feel so honoured to have a fold devoted to me. I dearly hope I shall be able to be with you on the 20th. My finger is responding slowly and I can do some calligraphy again - it no longer feels like a cocktail stick bone in a sausage! :-)@@DrLizzieBurns
Devoted to you with great thanks for all your support and kindness over so many years. So glad your finger is getting better and fingers crossed (is that appropriate?!) for continued healing. Sending very kindest wishes, :) @@erykfreethinker7147
I decided to use this model as the design for a greetings card to my sister, I hope she likes it.
that's so lovely - what's not to like!
Gracias. He podido hacer una bola de 120 módulos.
Congratulations!!
I got hooked on the 12 piece shape after a Japanese houseguest taught us them, subsequent Japanese guests treated me like an expert once they knew I could make these. There is a moment when my brain can't assemble it but i have to let my hands take over
I've done loads of these, they're really fun to make. I make them as Christmas decorations.
Thank you for this Lizzie. I have actually got a notification this time, the last Wednesday group you did my notification came two days late. I shall have to see the next one a week late but at least I know you have started again. My index finger is still feeling like a twig in a sausage so calligraphy and origami are not a real possibility but your folds are a joy to watch. As Autumn is near I wonder if anyone puts an elastic glue like PVA on leaves before they are crisp and folds after cutting to a square or rectangle with the archtecture of the leaf veins on the outside of the fold? Or maybe fold photocopy of a large leaf maybe? Who knows :-) Eryk
Thank you so much Eryk! I'll take a look when the next one will be (probably not a Wed just to spice things up!). Sorry fingers not obeying at the moment and wishing them healing and better days. Very kind of you to suggest still a joy to watch - and imagining your brain will still tingle with visualising finger movements. That's such a beautiful idea with leaf folds - thank you so much for sharing and I may get experimenting, Wishing you some happy autumnal days after an indian summer. Kindest wishes, Lizzie
