I felt disconnected from music mainly rap because all of today’s rap songs are everywhere. We can’t control what people listen to, but I do control what I choose to listen to. I fell outta love for hip hop music because the fans and rappers alike are so closed minded. I don’t love rap music anymore because it’s bad music for those who only listen to it 24/7.

Realistically Cash Money is the only label that is still knocking out numbers. Even tho Wayne is not much active anymore they still have Drake and Nicki both are worldwide superstars. But on the different note the only record labels that gives me chills just thinking about them would be Bad Boys Ent and Death Row Records. Tupac and biggie rivalry, Dr. Dre the Chronic album and Snoop dogg DoggyStyle some of the best albums of the early 90s. All this shit lead to the demise of two of the most iconic and well respected rappers of all time Notorious B.I.G. and 2pac! Not to mention p diddy and suge and it in for each other man oh man.

There's a new "Urban Alternative" radio format. It's the black version of the "AAA" format. There's 6 stations in the country so far: Vocalo (Chicago), Hyfin (Milwaukee), The Drop (Denver), The Vibe (Houston), Carbon Sound (Twin Cities) and Hot 91 (Norfolk). Alternative Hip Hop and R&B, mainstream Hip Hop and R&B that fits the format, 80s 90s 00s 10s and 20s....major hits, moderate hits and album cuts from all types of artists. You know those artists who have a large following but get no play on the radio? (Denzel Curry, Joey Badass, Vince Staples, Doechii, Big Krit, etc...) Those artists get played right along with mainstream artists. These are all live stations with DJs who take suggestions from the audience. They even play some House, Dance, Afrobeat and Jazz tracks. It takes about 10 minutes to realize that it's better than commercial urban radio has been over the last 20 years. It already has a strong grassroots following and can really blow up if the people support it.
