It's pretty slow and boring, but dumping unlevel is not the time to rush the process. #peterbilt379 #dumptruck #lime #fertilizer #night #trucking #southcarolina

I drove for 30 years. Love that 13 speed road ranger tranny
@JamesW-ck3gu I've been at it 10 years, the yellow truck had an 18-spd and the red one has a Super-10.
Do it the right way or step right away and dont do it at All..Take the highest pride in your work like Americans used to do..
To be fair the screw spot on the inside would be better protected from corossion if the inside spot is conductive
@@gabeulrickson2496 Yes, 100%.
@@MatthewReedTrucking so I don’t understand why you think you’re not qualified you know the right things to do obviously here
@jacobkoz1835 Thanks. It's basically the fact that changing that light out will take me longer than it will somebody else, because they don't care. A two minute job turns into a project lol
Agreed 👍 100% it's gotta be just right 👍 nice work
@the7.3guyo57 Thank you!
All my X's live in Texas
Those bolts used to hold a foam sound dampening diaper that has long since deteriorated and fallen off. They were there for a reason, but that reason has disappeared.
It's not an original bolt, plus it still works fine with 1 washer. I've haven't ever seen what you are talking about before, I'll have to Google that and check it out.
@MatthewReedTrucking it was part of the noise emissions that came out in the 90s. Most people took them off or they just fell apart and fell off.
Hmm! Thankful to God for providing protection during my yrs behind the wheel trucking! Stay safe rolling the roads! #Keepontruckin 🇺🇸🦾💯
I almost made it 10 years without any wrecks, but here we are. Wasn't my fault, or the other truck. God is the only reason I didn't get hurt, everything on the driver's side got hit, except the drivers door!
Sorry about your truck. All I can think of is Jessierea' Hutcheson the love of my life
@@rustybrown1044 Thank you! I never thought that would be how it left.
Horrible situation 😪 wtf happen? Other truck side wipe ya??
@adambennett2176 yes, I was sitting in stopped traffic, a car wiggled thru some cars to turn left back towards me, had plenty of time until they didn't! Pulled out right in front of him, he hit them, then me.
Thanks for the video brother. I think I’ll try tackling this job very soon as well. What was the problem with springs that you had to change them?
Mine snapped going over a series of bumps, going 35-40 started bouncing and "Snap". It looked to be partially cracked for awhile, but it wasn't where I could see it, because it was underneath the top spring. I would reccomend jacking up both sides even if you're doing only one side, (that would have made mine a little easier going back together).
As a mechanic who works on semis I can say not true for all people I take care of our trucks like they were my own
Not all are bad, but there's a big majority that just don't care. This truck spent time in the oilfield in a previous life, and it's been a lil meth'd up, all over. Especially wiring.
What year trk is that was wanting to see if it fits my 94 pete 379
It's a '97
Bought these blue bushing for sleeper frame mount. on a 1990 379. Worked great $70 each on Amazon
Good lord
@@calvinstreets2260 Amen, don't buy a truck that tweakers have touched!
Great video
if you still use your channel. anyway you could tell me where you got the wiring diagrams? having almost the exact same issues.
Supermiller has some, Google "peterbilt 379 family wiring schematic". There are free ones, but I haven't found the link that I used.

@@MatthewReedTrucking thanks you sir
Thanks for the video the strap is very important
What's the price on that?
I'm pretty sure it was around $4-500, a Cat brand compressor is closer to $800 if I'm not mistaken.
Si quema el motor cuh
Blue bushing material is garbage is plastic you need rubber
Excellent video
Yes bushing blue 💙 is plastic garage need rubber
Picture quality sucks
Thanks, I'll let Samsung know!
I think you should address the oilleak and your eyes would of thankyou if you washed it before working on it. Still A for effort. 😊
The oil leak is how I got to that point, it was the front crank seal leaking. So everything was out of the way for doing the motor mounts.
Did it help with the shake ?
It helped with that shake yes. You could feel it thru the steering wheel with your finger tips. I replaced both wheels and got an alignment and it wears evenly now. I have another truck that the alignment was off, and one steer tires cupped, but also cupped worse halfway around the tire, I got it a new tire and alignment, and with very slight pressure on the steering wheel I could feel it shake thru steering wheel (even with the new tire). So I replaced that wheel as well and that shake went away. Once I had the tire off, I rolled that wheel across a concrete floor and it clanked and banged around when it hit the bent spots.
Did it work ?
Them schematics come in handy for sure
Say Matthew I have a dilemma on my 97 AC compressor runs on defrost bu when I change it to vent the compressor quits!! I changed the blower switch it was melted and I changed the directional switch and it doing the same any pointers??
Man im struggling with my pete and the ac now. 97 379. Any help?
Has the vibration resolved?
In my case it was solved.
Did it work??
In my case it was solved.
Thanks for th video sir! I just did mine. All my stuff was still on. I used all my 1/2 drive extensions and a wobble joint. But my son was on top and it was 1 1/8 I believe, and my bolts was ran in from the bottom. Used the motor weight and screw driver like you said and they pretty much went right in
I'm glad it was helpful to you, that's why I made it, I couldn't find one myself. I may put my bolts in from the bottom next time I do them.
@@MatthewReedTrucking I forgot to add my 20 ton jack has the spring and plate on it so I used a 2x4 turned sideways “3 1/2” was up and down to lift and clear everything
.
Very helpful. My 2 year old compressor is sending oil through my system on my 6nz. They dont build anything to last anymore
How many total engine mounts are there. 2 middle 2 front
2 on the front, and 2 on each side, near the back of the engine. So 6 total on mine.
@@MatthewReedTrucking i got c15 acert gotta replace them, engine jumps quite a lot to the right, i seen two on front and two on the side , idk about the back, going to do some research on them.
great video! thanks man
That is not right, it should sit flush.
He doesn't show the removal and the install, i thought maybe when he impact it back in it pulls or sucks in where its through a flush. We didnt see any of that but yeah, something he did isnt right
On 07 KW T800 a socket is not an option to hold with because the harmonic balanser is above it. Maybe a cut box end wrench will work.
I just did mine you def have to use the motor weight to get them to seat properly. Good video
Looks like u installed the motor mount backwards or should not be any gaps im abut to do mine on my c15 cat
Sounds good, report back to the class on what you find out.
Need to do a video on the rear bushings now. Good video straight to the point!
I'll have to look and see if I made any videos. They're pretty simple, if all goes well. The passenger side was easy! But my drivers side, I had to remove the bracket off of the block, because the metal part of the bushing, rusted to the bolt. Being there with the computer and fuel lines, I didn't see a good way to cut the bolt off. Just get all you're bolts started thru the frame, before you let the motor down, and you should be good!
3 years later, I now have a video on the rear motor mounts.
Great video, you make it look simple 👍
Thank you
