The next episode of the train station spotting series is here and we are up the line from Sheffield at Doncaster on the East Coast Mainline. We see services operated by LNER, Northern, Transpennine Express, Grand Central and two freight trains by GBRF. In what was a first for me we see an adorable hedgehog sniffing around in broad daylight which is extremely unusual as these animals are more nocturnal. I never thought I'd ever see one as Hedgehogs have suffered a serious decline in population and are now protected. Enjoy this bundle of cuteness!

A quick journey on First Eastern Counties' Volvo B9TL Gemini 1 AU58 EDK with the fleet number of 37579. We see the bus flying around the Norfolk countryside on Route 1 from Martham to Winterton-On-Sea though the bus is starting to show its age slightly. The route countinues on to Lowestoft. Enjoy!

On the 17th July I ventured to the Oxfordshire countryside just outside the market town of Faringdon to see some arrivals at the Royal International Air Tattoo. As I didn't have a ticket this was the closest I was able to get to the arrivals and I didn't see all of them but I still managed to see a good variety of aircraft. Enjoy! I did mention that the wildlife videos would make a return so we'll start it off with a video of an incredible bird of prey; the Kestrel. Watch as it hovers and despite having to use a lot of effort to hover, watch how it's head does not move at all. Kestrels are supreme hunters and you can see why from this video clip. Enjoy!
London Underground Rail Adhesion Train passing Acton Town

We had the 64 year old 1960 Stock on the Track Recording Train at Acton Town last time and now we have the 62 year old 1962 Stock in use as the East End Central Line Rail Adhesion train. This train is usually in use from October to December on the eastern end of the Central Line around Epping, Woodford etc so what it was doing at Acton Town on the Piccadilly Line in April I have no idea. This used to be my local station
1960 stock used in epping to ongar (epping , north weald , blake hall , ongar) blake hall shut earlier than the rest however and i got some old tube maps that still show that part of the line

Do deep-level tube freight services always run double-enders with a leading and trailing locomotive?
From what I've seen these services run with a locomotive at the front and rear of the train however, I wouldn't be surprised if this occaisionally doesn't happen

They were used in revenue service on the Central Line but were withdrawn in 1994 when the line to Ongar closed. This is the only one left and has been in service for 40 years

Use the website. "Live Rail Record". It lists all trains at any place for a day. It's very handy and easier to see whats running.
They're becoming way more common because of the IETs being in need of high maintenance, hopefully you'll get to catch another one soon!
