For me i saw there is no need for primer, but if you need a primer to make it more durable and quality, you can also buy a primer but for using colour wave, primers is not mandatory 😊

E36 came out in 1992 ran until 1999 so yeah its quite old , Started off from R115 000 318i brand new .Today an entry level Hyundai perhaps starts of from over R250000 so it's old , needs to be restored just becuase it's cheap to buy old doesn't mean it will be cheap to maintain unless you use cheap Chinese parts but then it's no longer Sheer driving pleasure only the shell.

BMW service centre,,,,you will pay their service like you are buying another second hand car...this guys quoted me 23k just for replacing valve steam seals....imagine if you add timing chain and e.t.c....they are expensive ....with mechanic guys...there are ones that knows their job and others that just add more problems to your plate

DIY valve steam seals was a joke i can never be able to pull a perfect job on it...ill look into other possible causes coz its really rare to see it smoking, it does it if you hardly rev it and when you on reverse, bad smell from exhaust too...thank you for your point of view...ill post update of what i did when i resolve this issue thanks

@@Repoisonsworkshop Yeah it must be a other issue. The type of oil you used was correct so that won’t cause the smoke. Most likely the car was smoking but before you bought it the previous owner could of used something to hide the smoke. So when you drained the oil that could’ve been in the oil.

They just replaced the gaskets and the top didn't need engineering? Smoking could be it's burning oil and you might to change piston rings.

@ yes its blue smoke 💨 so I suspect valve stem seals …if its piston rings yohhh its gonna be a hell of a job 🙆‍♂️😂😂😂….I haven’t replaced the top cover yet
