Dear, I have paper patterns of mine, which I want to digitalize. Do you recommend to PAD System to do so or better do the Pattern Workshop online. Will PAD System be integrated in the workshop? Thank you very much, I feel very helpless at the moment, with not being able to digitalize my patterns. Kindly, Tatiana
@@tatianaacademy7007 Hi, pattern workshop only focuses on adobe illustrator which you can use for digitising! I prefer pad system but as a beginner with a small budget adobe illustrator is great. 😊 even if you use pad system you will still need adobe illustrator if you plan to make sewing patterns (for layout, layers etc). In pattern workshop there’s even a chapter about how to digitise your paper patterns! /Josefine
@@PloenPatterns Thank you very much! How much would it cost to learn Pad system? So best is to start with the workshop adobe ill. and then maybe progress with Pad System I understand? Thank you dear! Best, Tatiana
@@tatianaacademy7007 yes that’s what I did and I would recommend that way. You don’t need everything right from the beginning. Pad system costs $45/month I think and it’s quite easy to learn. Especially if you are familiar with adobe programs. I learned without a course or anything. Just their tutorials and a lot of time. I’ve been thinking about creating a training course all about Pad system. Maybe I will have it available by the time you want to learn 😇 Good luck! 👏
@@PloenPatterns Wonderful thank you very much!
Love your space and your little helper is so precious 😍 FIESTA 🎉
@@mad14kt thank you 🥰
Good video, but how do you do this for a t shirt pattern with no dart?
@@elizabethsaint5804 it’s a similar process. I go more in depth about different kinds of bust adjustments in Better Fit Academy (my online course). For a t shirt pattern you would add the same lines to the pattern and spread the amount you need. You can choose to add a dart or just add width and length. /Josefine
Thank you for sharing. I'm planning to start selling sewing pattern and I never really thought about testing all the sizes which is the most important thing!
@@afrinakaliyath6147 yes it’s such a big part of it! Good luck with your patterns! :)
Could I spread our product in China to Malaysia?
@@张泽彬 I don’t understand the question…? Could you rephrase?
Could I spread our product in China to Malaysia?
The flip cutting table is such a good idea! Thanks for sharing!
I did find it very interesting! thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and business experience, I'd like to start my digital pattern business but just didn't have an idea of the social/digital process behind the product. Much appreciated!
Glad you enjoyed it! 🥳
Thank you. I have been struggling with this for a while.
Glad you enjoyed the video!
I'm curious as to how you're going to sustainably replace the things you used
Usually use that for new sewing projects or give it someone in need, resell it for cheap or put it into a second hand store. There's so many options. My favourite is sewing new things out of it. A teddy bear from y little brother. Use it for the material or stuffing. Or giving it to people in need. Especially the nicer things I don't wanna destroy I give them to people in need because they deserve good things too and not just a shabby pair of pants that will break within a month. 😅
I don’t understand what you’re asking. You mean how to replace the sheets…? I find sheets for example at a thrift shop or online. Often times they are too worn to be able to use as sheets (holes etc) but there are still parts that are in good condition and those are the parts I use for clothes. Hope that answers your question, otherwise let me know :)
Thank you so much, now I understood what is and how to make this type of adjustments ❤️
No problem! 🙏🏼 🌼
Congratulations ❤👏🏽👏🏽
Thank you! So excited to teach this course 🤩👏✂️

I’m so glad you found it helpful! Let me know if you have any questions or struggle with anything regarding fit! 🥳
@@PloenPatterns Thank you! My question is about the interpretation of garment models, and how much ease to put in a piece so that it has its style, for example, jogger pants have looser hips, and mom jeans have a high waist and also a looser hip, but how much more or less of ease? I don't know if I explained the better way. Thank you!
@@karinalss do you mean when drafting a pattern? Or fitting a sewing pattern you bought from a pattern company? Either way it depends on the design. Joggers are often made out of a fabric with stretch and mom jeans can be made from a non stretch denim for example. I would guess the mom jeans had more ease than the joggers in this case. It also depends on the style of joggers- if they are close fitting or more lose. You would have to experiment if you are creating your own pattern and for a pattern you bought - check the intended ease by comparing body mmts to finished garment mmts! Hope that helps :)
@@PloenPatterns Thank you! I mean when we draft a pattern. But your answer helped me! thank you so much.
Pattern Making and Grading in Illustrator is the wrong way to go!1 - way to long, not accurate, you do not have Seam Allowance Tools, Do not do!! Invest in an industry Pattern Making Software! otherwise you are wasting too much time!!
Yes I agree, that’s why I use pad system :)
How I create pdf patterns: i create pdf pattern. Lots of blah nothing useful.
What do you want to know specifically? :) I can make an updated version, some things have changed since I made this video. Happy to help! /J
Wow!! So much information. Thank you for sharing. i love your video
Thank you for watching! :)
Nice to see you back and seeing your cute baby! Congratulations! I recently bought the pattern and made the Idun and just love it!
Such a cute baby 😊 I love to sew for babies and children too. I like oh me, oh my sewing, I also own 3 patterns from them.
Hello. I'm Letícia, from Brazil, a fashion designer and pattern maker and I started recentilly to make and sell digital patterns. Thank you for sharing your process, it was really helpfull. I'm strugling to launch my firts collection, it takes so much time to make video tutorials and I noticed that you dont do it, only photo right? Can you tell how much time it takes to make a simple pattern considering the entire process? And how do you calculate the price of it? I'm strugling with that too, since I only make a one test and one piece for photos. How to spread the cost of making the patterns? Happy sewing for you too. And thank you again.
Hi, congratulations on starting your business! For my patterns I make instructions with illustrations and I also do video tutorials for all my patterns. For some of them I also do a blog post with photos. I haven’t calculated how much time each pattern takes. It really depends. I just pick a price that seems reasonable, considering other patterns on the market and how complicated the design is. For my printed paper patterns I calculate the cost and make sure there’s enough margin for wholesale and then profit. Hope that helps!
Thanks for the video. How do you find your testers?
Yess I love the flares I love retro looks

what program are you using to make the cuts?
Hi, what do you mean “the cuts”? 😇 /Josefine
what kind of program do you use to make patterns in pdf?
I use padsystem for pattern making and then export to Adobe Illustrator to create the layout for at home printing and adding all the necessary info etc! 😊
I loved your video. A lot of informations to “enjoy”. Thanks a lot for sharing and giving a clear idea of the howl process.
Thanks for watching! I’m glad you found it helpful 🥰
I love the full lining! Adds a great look to the Vera with a more sheer fabric 😍
Congratulations on your pregnancy also. I think you should make a shirt with the peacock fabric, and wear it with jeans or a skirt, so you can tie it around and show off your waist after the baby is born. The floral fabric would be lovely as a dress. Can’t wait to see what you make……❤
Thank you Karin! And those are great ideas!! 🥳
Absolutely LOVE the colors and patterns of your 2022 makes. Cannot wait to see what 2023 brings!
Me too! 🤩
Congratulations on your pregnancy! Would love to see a separate video on the baby patterns you've been sewing.
Thank you! It’s coming!! 🥳

Hi Josefine, thank you for this great video. Which software do you use for sewing instructions?
I use Adobe Illustrator 👍🏼
Lovely to see the items you made in 2022 Josefine. I need to get my video recorded and uploaded too...
Thank you! Yes, do it! 🥳👍🏼✂️✨
Your makes are lovely, the square neck tops look great on you, they all look lovely the different colours but same pattern, thanks for sharing x
hi
I really love the cutting table idea. Do you have a diy? And also, how much do you think it cost all together?
My boyfriend made it for me. The table top is from his work and then I just bought the legs. They are adjustable and I think they cost less than 50€ 😇
I bought a Husqvarna 21E in March for $50 cos it was so pretty and had the cams and everything (Dutch manual, but I got the English one from the FB group so no biggie!). I finally got around yesterday to cleaning and examining it and checking the brushes etc… and everything was in perfect order, I was so excited… until I went to thread it and realised the thread guide was broken (a VERY common occurrence I now read, but arggghhh for me!) lol. Still a gorgeous machine tho!
What is the height and bust size are these patterns made for?
sweet space
Computerized is more suitable for me because I live in apartment. It works more quiet so I can sew late night.
I actually find my vintage machine very quiet also! But I understand what you mean. It’s nice to be able to sew at night without disturbing your neighbours 😍
I'm an expat working in KL. I just bought a sewing machine and it's hard to find fabrics I want compared to my hometown, Bangkok. These 3 shops you went are the most compatible with what I want.
I'm going to check out the Jorun leggings, so many good options!
I’m glad you like the pattern! 🥳💚
