Thanks for the ride!
He's sliding his hands around the wheel like a complete rookie, please WTF?
Thanks for the comment, I won my class and set the track record. Not bad for a complete rookie.
Can you say underdriven? That TA2 should be turning 14 or 13 laps. 😆
Absolutely enjoyed it! Full course yellow hurt you big time. Great drive!
Well done !
Great race Dave! That caddy just out horse powered the C5. You did awesome and out drove him through every turn!
[̲̅p][̲̅r][̲̅o][̲̅m][̲̅o][̲̅s][̲̅m] 🤦
Fun track! I think Spec Miata's were running in the 2:50's in an early June weekend with SCCA.
Hey Dave.. It was great watching you and Charlie.. dance for a few laps. Did Charlie loose grip on turn 7 when you went around him on the inside?
Nice smooth Dave Sanders style driving there. No drama, no mistakes.
I bet that was an interesting conversation in the pits afterwards with Mr. Dale. I’ve watched lots of his racing/driving and even on track days, he drives/blocks like he owns the track.
Great video, excellent driving, smooth, consistent. Never over drove the car.
Gutsy driving. Video always makes the most desperate white-knuckle driving look calm. Glad you brought it home safe.
Way to go Dave.
Was that an earthquake around 4:57??
Nice Drive, Dave
Looks like a good race. What are you driving, David?
It’s a 2003 Corvette Z06
So is that a 55mm restrictor? I am prepping a '10 Camaro LS3 for T2. Have run under AS Restricted specs with a 54mm restrictor. Not sure how this will make the car stack up against other T2 cars. In the end, it is mostly the driver anyway, for better or worse, I think. I am sure I will suck wind for awhile.
Yes, running the 55mm plate at 3525#. New rules have me at 50mm this year. The rules hit most of the front cars. The ls3 camaro was left alone so it will be a competitive car this year. What division will you be running?
I am headed for T2 but it will probably take me most of this season to get there. The car runs in T2 under the AS restricted specs. Just got the car. I will put a roll bar (back part of the cage) in, dry sump pump and some suspension work. Then I will go to track days up and down the west coast without the 54mm restrictor to make sure I can get my times down where they need to be. Below 1:30 for Willow Springs for instance. Then I will try to strip out the 500 lbs the car is overweight and finish the work for T2. No trailer right now. Any non-obvious suggestions for places to remove weight? Doesn't seem like the interior, air conditioner and heater will be enough, especially with the added weight of the full cage.
Such a great race until the GT1 cleared out the T-1 stang. Great Rythm to that drive
hey which of the following cars do you think has the most potential for being built up and ultra modified into a t-1 or tt1 (nasa) race car? -Lotus Elise/Exige -Toyota MR2 Spyder (engine swap of course) -Honda S2000 -Miata -RX7 or 8 -Other?
Is that the thunderbolt track?
Yes, thunderbolt.
This was great stuff. Well done!
ahhhh....the Z06 is an animal.Well done!
What is the car your racing?
+Richard Fernandez It is a 2003 corvette Zo6 built to SCCA's Touring 1 class.
+David Sanders Sorry for the old reply, but where did you finish? Looked like really fair racing going into T1. Thank you for the video!
Thanks, I finished first in the T1 class and 9th overall behind some GT1 and GT2 cars. The red #86 finished right behind me for second in T1.
Great driving! I like your videos that show your hands, and where you are adding opposite lock--very impressive doing that in the esses and the toe!
Nice driving. The guy in the Mustang should have been black flagged. He can't control his car.
Man, Andrew was the one knocking the crap out of everyone? Any reason for that? He hit T2 leader a few times, as well.
Looks like a blast. Drove much better after the caution. Just because you can take the bus stop in 4th gear doesn't mean you should.
Awesome race and driving! Did that Mustang end up wrecking?
Dive bomb heaven out there
mustang kiss you?
Heading here next month with NARRA so seeing what kind of mishaps this course might bring... definitely going to treat T9 with respect as it seems like a trouble spot!
Good race, nice driving!
red camaro was drove like a fucking idiot.
nice job of driving you did. came out clean.
-_- that red camaro ruined that mustang's day.
Thanks Jonathan!
No problem Scott, I owe you a beer for helping me get by Andrew ;)
sorry about that, got in there a little hot. stuggled with that entry all weekend long.
Great video and great driving! Congratulations on the win. Must be your Jeddi mind tricks that got that GT1 to do your bidding :0
Superb job of driving Dave...just superb. Way to keep your head!!!!
damn, caught a great draft at 2:12 and missed a gear. :( badass sounding car, thanks for uploading with no music!
some guys seem to have a more money then talent in this class, though the first bump was caused by locking up wheels. also this track could use a few feet of tarmac on each side
any reason to point the exhaust pipes to the right? for fooling the sound sation or something?
hey have you ever raced at Summit Point?
I don;t know about the Corvettes, but one "instance of stupidity" was caused by mechanical failure. So before you guys start acting like Obama, get your facts straight.
Im with you Andy, also keep in mind that they are running on cold tires for that first lap so they do tend to look sloppy at first.
Well i think alot of the build up over the week of this event has something to do with the driving. if you cant find a way to view it as a normal race. you find guys driving over their heads or differently than they would normally due to nerves regardless all of these guys know how to drive! ill vouch for that. -Andy Wolverton
Two instances of stupidity. Surprised to see it at THE championship event. Best drivers?
