XTM Mighty Double Swag - Product Review - BCF
I purchased the XTM Mighty Double Swag from BCF for some boy's weekends away.
It's the first swag that I have owned. I have always had tents and now the Off-Road Caravan.
The swag makes it simple for a weekend away from the stresses of life.
I was impressed with the quality and certainly the size of the swag, especially the thick 70mm mattress.

Are you guys geologists ? Seem you know an awful lot
Hi Ralph thank you for watching our video and your kind words. No I’m not actually a geologist, however I’m very interested in rocks and how they were formed. Western Australia is such an amazing place to see where planet Earth began. It was such a privilege to be able to travel to the various locations around this great country and see all the different types of rocks we have. Glenn and Nat
Thanks for sharing great video.
Hi Peter thank you for watching our video and your kind words. We loved Marble Bar, such an amazing part of Australia. Glenn and Nat
New Subscriber just a great piece of equipment. Brilliant explanation and showing thankyou
Hi Dave - thank you for watching our video and for your kind comments. We have used the solution so many times and it makes life much easier when off grid Glenn and Nat
Thanks but how do you empty the gray water tank
Hi and thank you for watching our video. Yes the emptying of one’s grey water tank is always a contentious topic. It all depends where you are. As we know it varies from location to location. Basically always abide to the local regulations. If the local regulations don’t allow it, then maybe choose a different location for the stop over. Glenn and Nat
Just a heads up that an eBay cheapie centrifugal pump ($20) is just as effective, uses far less power and is much quieter. Down side... it doesn't come in a fancy unnecessary box🤷♂ These diaphragm pumps are more designed where pressure is required. We just want good flow rate for this. Still the method used is bang on and very well explained.
Hi and thank you for watching our video. Also thank you for offering an alternative solution for our viewers. When we all band together and provide solutions, it empowers people with knowledge so they too feel confident to travel and enjoy this great country of ours. Glenn and Nat
I dream of going there. Tucson, AZ, is a different wasteland 😅
Hi Jason and thank you for watching our video. Silverton NSW Australia is certainly a long way from Arizona, however do not ever give up on your dreams. If you want something in life, make it happen. Glenn and Nat
I use to camp here as a young bloke. There’d only be a few families there in peak period. Wasn’t long until word got out. Looks like Bondi beach now 😂
Hi and thank you for watching our video. Yes it certainly is a busy place especially during school holidays, however I can certainly understand why. It is such a beautiful area. It was our first time down there and we hope that it won’t be our last. Glenn and Nat
I was there filmed a walk through 6 months ago Dec 2023 Adrean is a cool guy, good to talk to, shame you are not allowed to film in the front part of the museum there are some real treasures in that part.
Hi TC thank you for watching our video. It’s amazing to know that Adrian and Linda started the museum with only their replica car. Over the years, they have collected hundreds of items from the movie set. A massive effort. The museum is certainly a must see if you are a Mad Max fan. Glenn and Nat
My mums hometown, great video mate
Hi Nathan thank you for watching our video and for your nice comment. To be honest, I was shocked on how beautiful Marble Bar actually was. I imagined that it would be a dry area however it was a great little town with a magnificent oasis. Certainly a must see place in Australia Glenn and Nat
Si finds, mudlarker on the themes river London. Hovercraft found a pair of Roman centurions shoes. They are in the London museum. Also, Bondi treasure hunter friend found a Dutch sword.
Hi Rusty thank you for watching our video. Yes with all the battles that occurred during the years, there must still be treasures to find. How amazing if we found something…..like a piece of armour Glenn and Nat
I would bottom fill that bag instead
Hi there Aphony, thank you for watching our video. Yes you certainly could fill the bag from the bottom, most of the time. That is as long as the head of the fill station is high enough to have enough pressure to fill the bag. One fill station that used during the Great Aussie Lap, was a simple water tank filled via a bore pump. The tank was not much higher up than the outlet, therefore no real gravitational feed. I was fortunate to even fill the bag from the top hole let alone attempting to fill from the bottom. Glenn and Nat
G day Glenn just purchased this after watching your easy and clear video ,,just a question do you tie it down using the points mentioned and if yes how did they go,,,cheers Phil😊
Hi Phillip that is great news that you too now have a solution to transport water back to your off-grid without straining your back. I don’t actually tie mine down. I have ribbed marine carpet in the tub which the bladder sits on. It doesn’t move around. Glenn and Nat
@livinglife2themaxx148 Cheers Glenn and Nat, l ended up using a ryobi transfer pump ,uses half a 5amp battery ,,has your bladder water smell/ taste ,decreased over time or is there an additive you know off , l have a guzzle H20 water treatment system for our drinking water which is great but worried it won't deal with the strong water bladder smell I've flushed it 4 times and dried it out using a blower but still a strong odour ,,,cheers Phil
Hi Phil That is great that you have sorted out your solution. I normally try to dry out the bladder before rolling up and packing it away. I haven’t noticed a smell from it as yet. To be honest, I don’t drink from my bladder/tank water. We only use the water for showering, toilet flushing and washing up. We always purchase bottled water for drinking. It may cost a little more, however it saves a lot of fuss trying to keep your tanks clean. It also saves picking up a bug while you are out and about. It would not be a pleasant experience. Glenn and Nat
Appreciated the glimpse inside the museum and of Silverton in general. What was Nat's Return T-shirt from? Was it a custom? Looked like it had He-Man characters :)
Hi and thank you for watching our video. Yes Silverton was certainly an interesting town. The museum was excellent, a must see for any Madmax fan. Nat’s shirt was from a band called Lucifer. It was one of the bands who played on the 2018 Kiss Kruise VIII. Glenn and Nat
Hi guys September Beach looks Awesome, can you tell me how many camp spots are at September Beach and are they all close to the beach. Cheers steve and Deb.
Hi Steve and Deb Thank you for watching our video. September Beach campground was amazing. There are 2 campgrounds in the Lincoln National Park suited for caravans. The other one was Surfleet Cove. We did go and check it out, however in our opinion September Beach campground was the better one of the 2. The beach at September was far better for access and swimming. Although there are fewer campsites at September Beach, they seemed to be better also. If you refer to the link below cdn.environment.sa.gov.au/parks/docs/lincoln-national-park/Lincoln_NP_September_Beach_Campground_optimised.pdf?v=1662449405 you will notice there are 10 sites suited to caravans, 7 are on the beachside of the access road. I thought that site 3 and 4 were the pick. Slightly larger. There is a turning circuit at the end of the access road suited for turning around. If you are able to get site 4, you won’t be disappointed. Hope this information helps. Enjoy your travels. Glenn and Nat
Thanks heaps guys safe travels and keep up the great work 👍. Steve and Deb
You are filling using the wrong connector. You should fill through the bottom and have a hose on the top connector to allow the air to escape from the bladder.
Hi and thank you for watching our video. I suppose that is another option to filling the bladder via the bottom connector however it may not be obvious from the video of how large the diameter of the top filling hole actually is. It is certainly large enough to not only allow the filling hose to fit, but also large enough to allow air to escape. I have always used the bladder as you would a normal water tank where you fill it via the top. Glenn and Nat
Yes, this video clip is very interesting and all very enthusiastic about ironfest. Was up at the 2016 Lithgow ironfest and had an absolutely fantastic time. So, just was wondering where abouts is Portland? And normally ironfest is held the weekend before Anzac day, so obviously the dates have changed.
Hi Andrew thank you for watching our video and for your nice comments. As I understand, Ironfest was negatively impacted by COVID to a point that it almost became extinct. However due to a number of dedicated hardworking volunteers, and the generous donation from the Foundations at Portland allowing the event to be held there for free, Ironfest has been able to be reborn. The weekend has now been moved to the last week in April, and Ironfest’s new home is Portland. It’s located about 20 minutes NW of Lithgow. As can be seen from my video, the rebirth of Ironfest was a massive success and everyone is already planning for next year’s event. 2025 theme will be “Renaissance” and I’m sure it will be massive as there are so many costume options for the theme. You may have missed 2024, but don’t miss out on 2025. It’s going to be big And by the way - Ironfest is back!!! Glenn and Nat
you don't kneed the left over batter, spread out and cut up more scones?
That is a good idea. Waste not want not…..
I've never understood the adding of softdrink. I make a great scone, my wifes office colleagues often ask for a batch at home its 3 cups SR flour sifted, pinch of salt, 1 1/2 cups milk, 1/2 thickened cream Not at home its 3 cups SR flour sifted, milk powder (I usually don't measure this), 1 1/2 cups water, 1/2 or more if it needs it of long life cream (evaporated milk) I don't think my Grandmother/Great Grandmother and their generation had soft drink to add to a recipe like this
Hi and thank you for watching our video. Your recipe sounds good, a good old fashion one handed down thru the generations. I might have to try it next time we are cooking a batch of scones. Yes you are probably correct in saying that your predecessors didn’t use Lemonade back in the day. I suppose times are always changing. Glenn and Nat
2:47 Theres Me With The Key What An Amazing Day
Hi there MK thank you for watching our video. Yes this year’s Ironfest was certainly amazing. It was a credit to the organisers and the faithful people who attended, made this event a success. Well done to everyone Glenn and Nat
Great Vid.. One Day....
Hi thank you for watching our video and for your nice words. Yes one day…. however don’t leave it too long. Life goes too fast. Glenn and Nat
Great coverage and I'll echo what everybody in the video was saying, Ironfest is Back!!! 🤩
Hi Paul thank you for watching our video and for your nice comments. Yes Ironfest is back, and what an amazing return. So good. It’s a credit to the committee for all their hard work. Also to all the people who took time to attend. Glenn and Nat
Great trip reports guys of your trip , But I don't think use are to keen to get home...I've just found out don't make plans just get out there before something turns sh"t in your life..😢
Hi Newyjoe, thank you for watching our video and all our videos of the Great Aussie Lap. I hope you are ok. Your comments makes me think otherwise. Sincerely Glenn and Nat
What a great journey hopefully there is more content like this in future adventures. 😊
Hi Blake thank you for watching our video. Yes there will be many adventures ahead. So many different areas of Australia to visit and experience. Start making your tick list. Ensure all your dreams come true. Glenn and Nat
Noice Vid... One Day....
Hi and thank you for watching our video. Definitely put it on the list. There is so much to see and do around Australia Glenn and Nat
I think it's far better to go back to plan another trip than rush around a Lap. We did 17 mths on the road and had time back at home and now back out there to take our time doing the NT. 3 States in our !7 mths and still didn't see anywhere near all of each State, safe travels back to home.
Hi and a big thank you for watching our videos. Yes it certainly is a big country and there is so much to see. Yes a divide and conquer approach is possibly the way to see all of Australia. After a number of months on the road, you can become all tourist out. I’m thinking that 6 month stints in each state then a refresh is possibly the way to go. Glenn and Nat
Hi mate like the video i am thinking about upgrading my tow car to a ram, what is the fuel like when towing your van, did you do a upgrade to you ram to carry the weights my van is just under 3 ton we are going to do 12 months trip next year
Hi Glenn, thank you for watching our video. The RAM is amazing. I was totally blown away with is performance and capability. It was the perfect vehicle to tow a 3.5 ton caravan around Australia, especially on the rough roads. People talk about the reliability of certain makes. During the Trip, I spoke to a few people who were having mechanical issues with that particular make and surprisingly, they were having trouble sourcing parts. So don’t be put off with people talking about RAM reliability and part supply. In actual fact, I had the RAM serviced a few times during the trip, and I found that the service agents couldn’t do enough to help me. If you want a vehicle that is reliable, comfortable, powerful and relatively fuel efficient, it’s hard to find a better vehicle than the RAM. We averaged 22L/100km during our 27000km trip around Australia. We did endure some strong headwinds and we were running aggressive AT tyres on both the RAM and caravan which didn’t help the mileage. Some people talk about its payload. Please remember that a RAMs curb weight includes a full tank of fuel (121 litres) Most other vehicles have a curb weight that includes only 10 litres of fuel, therefore their payload isn’t as good as they believe. Also the 4.5 ton rated tow bar is already included in the payload weight. A couple features that I really like about the RAM is the Tow/Haul mode as well as the built in break controller. The only limitation of the RAM is its axel weight. A SCD Performance GVM upgrade assists in removing that limitation. By the way, due to the RAMs 7237kg GCM, it is one of a very few vehicles that can tow a 3.5 ton caravan. Enjoy your RAM and enjoy your trip. You will have an amazing time. Glenn and Nat
What month were you at Point Billie?
Hi Peter thank you for watching our video. We were at Point Billie during the last few weeks of July. Glenn and Nat
It’s so crazy how red it is out there
Hi Blake thank you for watching our video. Yes everything is so red. It looks amazing at sunrise or sunset. One for the tick list. Glenn and Nat
Hi guys just watched my first episode , such a beautiful area . I love how you put the episode number up on the screen at the start great idea I’ve never seen that before . Thanks for sharing your travels be safe .
Hi Neil thank you for watching our video and for your great feedback. Yes the Kimberly is an amazing place. So much to see and do. It was one of the mane amazing places that we were so fortunate to experience during our Lap. Glenn and Nat
Shame you missed the State Coalmine in bass Coast Victoria…… pencil that in for your next visit 👍
Hi there thank you for watching our video. Just checked its location. We must have almost driven past it. I’ll add it to the tick list. Even though we saw so much during our lap of Australia, you really need to do a 2nd lap to see all the places that you missed during the 1st lap. There is so so much to see and experience around Australia. Glenn and Nat
livinglife2 Alot of info in your vid..hope all's good and safe travels...👧🤠.
Hi Newyboys thank you for watching our video. Yes there was certainly lots to see and do along the Gibb. We are all safe and well Glenn and Nat
Hi Glenn Love your videos Very informative. Can I ask how your ram Is going. Have you had any issues. I have exactly the Same ram, colour bull bar. I’m Heading to Daly river (Darwin) Early may. Thanks Wayne
Hi Wayne thank you for watching our video and your nice comments. The RAM is amazing. I was totally blown away with is performance and capability. Hi Glenn, Thanks for your reply. Yeah I love my ram does everything I want. I’ve had every 4-5&6 cylinder Ute on the market they don’t come anywhere near the ram. It tows my 23ft off road van with ease. Love following your trip 👍. Thanks Wayne
Great video 😊
Hi Blake thank you for watching our video and for your kind words. The Gibb River Road is certainly a place of beauty Glenn and Nat
Great advice, cheers.
Hi Guys thank you for watching our video Yes the solution is so good. We have used our bladder and pump many times. Glenn and Nat
