I nicknamed this old truck “Bumpstart” because it always starts nearly instantly. Here it is with temps in the low 20’s. No glow plugs, no block heater and hasn’t been cranked in a week.

Thanks buddy!!🇺🇸
Love the southern accent
Thanks for the video very helpful in Ireland😊☘️
Do you like the digging power?
@@Mike_Erp it’s done everything I’ve ever needed it to.
Going to go look at a 2019 50g tomorrow, this is a great video with honest opinions. Thank you
do you still have the 500 skidder frame
@@stevenowell no, unfortunately no one was interested and it got scrapped.
@@gacatskinner4835 Hey thanks, I have had several opportunities to but one of the old girls but the drawback is finding or making the slotted drive tires. They were known for slipping in reverse. Very cool though
I have a weakness for old machines, I have a Clark CR60 4X4 articulating forklift. They were used in the Viet Nam War
Get it to run?
Great video, really need to do this job myself. The ole MF245 has probably leaked enough fuel over the years to pay for a new pump, lol...now to fix that issue :)
Does the piece of equipment this pump is coming out of need to be at top dead center before removing?
You don’t have to remove the pump to perform the repair in the video.
Great video. I had an idea how to do it, but your tutorial gave me the confidence to try it. Literally a half hour job. Thank you
Hey do u know if that's same process for mf285 w perkins? Thanks
Love it. Just got a '59 with recently rebuilt 2-53.
The bucket pedal feels stuck and won’t raise the bucket. Any idea or video to fix mustang 940?
There is a safety lockout that is tripped when you put the safety bar down. It may need some attention
Thanks! MF290 leaking like a sieve right now. Gonna try this today!
I resealed the top and I have fuel pumping out of the pump but no fuel going to the injectors. I put everything back the way it came off. Tractor ran fine before. Where did I go wrong?
My own pump from Ursus 2812 is the 3238F510 7135-110, do you know if you do the set you show (S.69290)?
I have one. Redoing it over again. Been about 10 years since last restoration. It’s a 1965 international 500 skidder
you still have the 500 skidder
Nice job. Where did you source the manifold?
Thank you for sharing this vidio
That sorted out your problem
I have a 33w up in NH. I was able to buy two of the frictions for the drill line from Buckeye Drill. They were not too easy to deal with but give them the bolt pattern and thickness and they should match it up to one of their part numbers
Thanks for the advice! I tried Buckeye and they absolutely wouldn’t talk to me about this rig.
Thanks so much!!!
Thanks for the video, where were you able to buy the seat cover?
What kind of oil did you use? About to do my first change on my new to me 50g
John Deere Plus 50 15-40
Thanks for the video…very useful information!
Did you ever get this thing up and going. Its an oldie. Id love to see it making hole.
Not yet. It’s still in the works but having a time sourcing some parts.
@gacatskinner4835 there are no parts.....lol
@@stevewheat9030 by sourcing I mean making
@@gacatskinner4835.... Yes, I believe that
Like your video GAcatskinner, i have a TSX 670 on a Allis CHalmers d14, new points condenser, new plugs, new battery, cleaned tank and lines, rebuilt the marvel and it idles good but when i start to rev up the rpm's it stumbles bad, i have adjusted the power needle as it does this, i cant figure out what the problem is, would appreciate you imput, thank you
oil hand pump - best investment you can make for routine oil changes
Thank you! Great video! We can do this!😊
My dad's International B414 won't shut off when you pull the stop rod. Probably because the fuel shut off spring is seized, hopefully replacing the o rings will fix the problem. Great educational video on how to work in the injection pump.
It’s also possible that the actuator is not in the slot. I talk about that during the reassembly. Thanks for watching
I just bought a filter at NAPA for 25bucks. Inflation is guess. You would thing the engineers would figure out some place for the fuel filter that human hands could reach.
What is the pedel on the left side on the rear of the floor I just bought this model tractor last week and theres nothing in the manual that says anything about it
It’s probably the traction lock for the rear differential
@@gacatskinner4835 Im new to tractors can you explain to me how it works?
@@uglybirdfarm you press the pedal to lock the rear differential so both tires receive power and turn at the same time. You have to keep the pedal pressed for it to work.
Awesome machine. I just got the same one from 1981.
Thank you for taking the time to make this clip. You saved me a bunch. 👍🏻
Mine went from an annoying little drip, to a noticeable leak at the cutoff and throttle shafts (probably because i finally got around to changing the fuel filter haha). I'll be attempting this this weekend. Thanks for a great and informative video. 👍
Success! Thank you sir. She's leak-free for the first time in the 20 years I've owned her 👍
what size box for the oil pan
What year is this tractor?
You mentioned shutting the fuel valve off, but didn't show where it is or how to do it.
They are located in different places, depending on what your machine is.
@@gacatskinner4835 Thank you for responding. It's a Massey Ferguson 230, and I've really not worked on tractors before. Would you know where it is on that particular one?
It should be on the bottom of the fuel tank. Look up under the tank where the fuel line comes out and you should see the valve handle.
@@gacatskinner4835 Thanks!
These were great old rigs !!! That rig could drill to I believe about 1000' !
Where you get the seals can you put the link of specific seals. Thank you😅
I had to take them to a hydraulic shop for them to measure and order individual seals.
I can’t keep bearings in mine….they don’t spin fast enough to get proper lubrication..
Hit up Buckeye Drill Company in Zanesville, Ohio. They may be able to help you out with parts for that machine. They repair and remanufacture Bucyrus Erie cable tool machines.
Ten stars. God explanation of how important it is to push the throttle shaft down in order to see, how the spring is mounted.
Great video, best explanation yet!
Where did you find parts for your Dozer? I am located close to Chattanooga TN
What year is yours and have you redone the T valve body? Great details
No idea on the year. It’s long since been sold
Did you ever figure out if it was suppose to have a oil pan cover ? I just got mine and has no cover on it, i am in the process of making one for it because dealer has no idea why there isn’t one.
The dealer said they did not come with one. They quoted a ridiculous price for one so I decided to just make one when I get time.
@@gacatskinner4835 I'm about to change my oil for the first time and looked. I also don't have a cover and like what you saw, it looks like it should have a cover and someone forgot to put it on.
@gacatskinner4835 what did you do about that skid plate under the engine
@@Dustin-tt4gx I had made one out of steel and bolted it on.
@@gacatskinner4835 can you make a video on it
Question. What’s the dimensions on your short hood I’ve been trying to figure out if they are the same as a regular hood
They are the same.
@@gacatskinner4835 ok thank you
Nice! And I've got a place you can test it out when it's ready!
