Ontario River Smallmouth Bass Fishing
That's sounds like a great trip. As much as I like catching muskies casting bucktails and spinnerbaits, but jigging is hands down the funnest way to catch them. I think it's because we are normally looking at the trees or birds and they normally hit when you're not paying attention. It's so fun.
Great episode guys!! What a blast to hear about the day!
What a wicked fish guys! Congratulations
Thanks 🙏 it was such an awesome experience
congrats Andrew . thanks for another great podcast sounds like you guys had a trip that you remember for a lifetime . just proves that if you want to catch big fish you have to fish were they have big fish.
It'll be a trip we'll never forget! Definitely agree with that! Gotta fish in big fish water!
@@averageontarioanglers i also think that there are different strains of fish and some will never put out big fish .like the Greatlakes fish and the leach lake fish will always be bigger than the northwoods wi fish. so i would think that your Kawarthas would be smaller then the st clair and eagle fish.
Average Ontario Anglers What a wonderful channel! The content always touches my heart. Thank you for sharing these stories. 💖
It’s awesome to hear you’re enjoying our fishing adventures!
As a person that just started fishing for Muskie thanks for your recommendations.
I have a question , How do you balance your rod? In other words, I know you don't want it too heavy but you also don't want it all the way to the rear. What do you look or FEEL for? Thanks, very nice basic video! Tight lines
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥Pb on that baby
@@MitchGreshm awesome!
Best video how to float for steelhead
Use the same rod and reel haha for my flippin. Can’t beat at croix or flippin and pitchin !! Nice man, I’m lookin for more jig options a lot these days too
A great rod!! Still one of my favourites!
Sick trophy, you certainly earned it. Congrats!
Thanks!! Was quite the experience!
Love the TNT, jerkbaits have been my new obsession this fall, hard to balance the pike vs bass thing with leaders and stronger hooks, etc. I've found using a 20lb fluoro leader before the 50lb gives some stretch to protect thinner hooks, the G finesse hooks seem to be a solid option as well for a stronger wire that still maintain suspending-ness of 110s but damn they are hard to find in stock. Looks like Andrew scored big time on St. Clair! can't wait to hear about it!
I hear you on the G finesse hooks, they are awesome!! This coming weekends podcast is all about our st Clair trip!
Congrats on the catch
It’ll be hard to beat this - I guess Andrew can retire now 🤣
Good job as usual! 👍👍
Thanks for listening!
That's frickin awesome dude. Happens so fast. Congrats.
What a rush it was!
What is the rod and reel called
great to see you two flannel clad bearded fishing nuts back on the tube it adds something to the show to see you . thanks for sharing . love your ramblings could listen to them for hours another great podcast. thanks again good luck on your musky fishing.
We love our flannels and beards! 😂
Center pinners are the most annoying people on the river
Not always 🤣
@ always I mean just use a spinning rod you losers are just spin rod fisherman who can’t fly fish….you queers just drift your stupid bobbers in front of anyone You want zero etiquette what’s so ever stupid ass bobber fishermen just learn how to bottom bounce like a man
@ are you joking lol no one likes center pinners……center pinners are just glorified spin rod fisherman and yiu fuckers have no etiquette what so ever drift your stupid bobbers in front everyone losers honestly just admit you can’t bottom bounce that’s why you watch a bobber
MB all day... Berkeleys bedt is still no where in the ballpark of mega bass's worst.. which they dont have
For a rod go with a Denali bottom feeder medium heavy rod. $60 even cheaper if you have a discount code. Strong last you a long time.
Thanks so much for such a great video and explanations. Question, your opinion on shot lines?
We fish mostly smaller creeks so don’t use shotlines but for bigger water and to save money on leader material they are definitely popular. Thanks for watching!
Thank you so much for quick response! Loving your in depth videos! Please keep them coming, especially with steel❤️
Thanks for sharing. you have to always remember that slow is good to. i use different gear ratio reels for different baits to keep myself from reeling to fast. Bad fishing habit is spending too much time in bait shops.
I’ve spent way too much time in bait shops and my wife is not happy about it 😂
Me again, we are in oosession of this same canoe (14 ft full transom) and anre absolutely loving it. Thanks for all of the advice. Quwstion: was wondering if youve experimented with mounting a fish finder to this vessel and if so, which one? Thx
Great to hear! You will get decades of enjoyment from your canoe! I have a garmin striker that has a suction cup transducer mount, it sticks firmly to the back transom and rarely if ever pops off. The fish finder is mounted to a cross bar. You can get clamp on mounts for various tube sizes. The stock sportspal cross bars are fairly thick so many standard mounts (like normal Scotty rail mounts) won’t work so make you buy a rail mount that will fit. I had already invested in Scotty products so I added an additional cross bar of 3/4” conduit just to add my gear add ones such as the fish finder and rod holders for trolling. If you message me on Instagram I can send you some pictures if your interested
Did you put backing on it and what pound braid is that?
30lb 8 strand braid with some backing
thanks for sharing. another great podcast . lots of good info does make a difference when its audio only miss seeing your ugly mugs
Haha we haven’t showered in a few days so we were uglier than normal! We did you a favour!!
what a great trip this video is really well done!
@@commonlycarpy thanks man!! Much appreciated!
That kinda sad lol
Your saying that and he is going to start catching blue gill all day on that luer
Great video thanks 😊
Glad you enjoyed! Tight lines this season
Some nice looking lures!
You’re welcome for the review!! 😊
Much appreciated man!!!
Woah that’s like me but the other way around I was using a buzzbait for bass and a Muskie hit it!!
Right?! Happens to us all the time sadly! They usually bite off our bass lures
@@averageontarioanglersmy friend was going for smallies and a pike bit him off😢😢 he says it’s a 40” but I don’t believe him😂
🤣 the classic fish tale
@@averageontarioanglersback in my day I had 94” musky😂😂
Just got one a few days ago it’s not firetiger but it’s the gold color
Awesome! Gold is awesome too!!
Just picked one up today!
Awesome! Catch a giant!
Love this episode, seen all three of these creatures and i will say wolves are my top scariest, number one reason being they are usually in a pack 😅
Great! Now I’m even more terrified 🤣🤣
Sanko 🤣
What are those treble hooks?
BKK Spear 21-UVO - these are 3/0 size
thanks for sharing another great podcast lots of funny stuff . i have seen some albinos over the years but they were 3 mallard ducks and a crow
Thanks for listening! Seems like the albino sightings are pretty rare for sure! But I guess it’s good to know if you do see an albino moose it’s a sign (not sure if that’s good or bad) 🤣
🤣🤣🤣🤣 best yet!👊🏼🎣
A turd with hooks 😂
you guys are naturally hilarious 😂 watching from Connecticut
Greetings from Canada 🍁 glad you enjoyed it!
I'm not going to lie, this long form content is nice to see again. And the production quality! You've got skills.
Thanks Adam. It’s hard to stop and film when all I wanna do is fish though haha. More for 2025 hopefully, maybe a smallmouth river video with ya
@@averageontarioanglers I fully understand, and I do it on my phone so it's even more draining on the experience.
Good video guys, looks like a fun lake to fish!!
Tons of fish! Good practice for lakes with bigger giants! A growler will slay fish in this lake in summer next year!!
@@averageontarioanglers those are the best lakes to practice at!!
This was awesome boys, loved it. Glad you got some skis, sad to hear about the lost beaver bait 😢.
Yeah it was a bummer but that's fishing for ya. 😄 you win some you lose some 🥲
Great video! Looks like an all round great weekend!
It was for sure! Every once in a while we get good weather 🤣
Is the audio version of this going to be released?
Not sure why but it did not upload and cancelled multiple times due to a corrupt file, first time that’s happened. I recommend checking it out on Spotify or Apple Podcasts for this episode.
What camera do you use for filming?
We keep it basic, iPhone, insta360 and a DJI Mini 2SE drone
Quality of this video is what you’d expect from the UA-camrs with 1 million plus subs. Nice video
Haha I wish 🤣 maybe one day. Thanks for watching!
Awesome vid guys …how long do you get outta the 100A lithium battery ? Is it worth the buy?
We can get 2-3 days of fishing on the lithium compared to 1 day with our last AGM battery. Plus it’s 1/2 the weight! Absolutely worth it
@@averageontarioanglers wow that’s crazy. Thanks. New sub also BTW. Can’t wait for more vids ? You guys do any ice fishing ? I haven’t looked at other videos as of yet still watching this one. Lol
We do ice fish, not a lot but hoping to get out more this winter on our new thermal tent
More of these please!
We will try our best! Thanks for watching!
Great video guys I love your content
