I'm curious about this series... These were shown in British social studies classes? Which grades? How widely was it shown? One year, several different years? Is this something a GenX Brit would know for sure? Any other info is appreciated
It was shown for mainly English class. For me it was in 2nd year we were given the book and meant to read it throughout the year. Then we would watch the movie and compare them to each other.
GenX and Millennial kids would remember doing this the book and show were really good compared to other stuff in class so this would often be remembered.

I didn't know that Buddy Holly did a version of Blue Suede Shoes, hence the name of this episode.
I'm on the verge of tears, this story is powerful, all I remembered when I saw this in school was the fact that one of the characters was obsessed with Buddy Holly.
Was this in British social studies classes? When abouts? How widely was it shown? Most schools, some schools?
