I do like what you do. You do what we do. My artist doesn't trace. Nancy Bicknell just draws on her preparedua-cam.com/video/_-lwFGlXMvg/v-deo.htmlsi=IE8ClCAb6e8mKK7F plate.ua-cam.com/video/_-lwFGlXMvg/v-deo.htmlsi=IE8ClCAb6e8mKK7F
Love your work. You are so masterful.
Thank you. I enjoy doing them. 😊
Amazing!
Thank you! 😊
Absolutely incredible. I'm a new subscriber. Print looks amazing.
Thank you so much. I’m planning m posting a few new projects soon. Thanks again!
@@ritaloehrart3919 looking forward to seeing what you create.
Beautiful result. Thank you for the presentation.
Thank you!
Excellent demo and real impressive art work. 2 hours per print--just running the press! That's commitment to the craft. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you. It is a commitment but I love it. My apologies for such a late reply! I do appreciate the feedback.
What are the (looks like) charcoal and (looks like) pencil you are using to add resist to the plate before etching. Love the work!
Sorry, did not see your comment. I’m using a grease stick and a grease pencil which both act as a resist to the acid.
Thank you!!!
Another great video!!!!!
What a boundless amount of patience this takes! I came to your open house and am just watching your video. Thanks a lot.
Thank you for your kind words and for visiting the studio. It was a great day and I am so glad I was able to offer information and awareness of the printmaking process.
What a fantastic video. Your print is amazing and very inspriational. I'm not keen on acid etchig but there are other ways of doing similar. Will try to give it a go. Thanks for sharing your expertise. Lovely print 🙂
Thank you for your kind words. I understand your adversity to using acid. I love the etching process but also enjoy exploring with other printmaking techniques. The possibilities are endless!
Thank you!
Great exhibition!!! Love your work.
Great 👍... Please watch my Paintings....ua-cam.com/video/844EUAQEZgM/v-deo.html
Digan que materiales se usan que pintura si es agua o que es ese líquido gracias
It is asphaltum which is diluted with mineral spirits. It has the constancy similar to molasses and I thin it to the consistency slightly thinner than corn syrup. Here is a link to the product I use: shop.takachpress.com/senefelders-liquid-asphaltum/
Why not show us the final print? 🐈⬛
Sorry, I didn’t see your comment but I did post a video of the entire process to create final print. ua-cam.com/video/sqa0cYqFfuQ/v-deo.htmlsi=iNuk4H5cr1896h6h

That is absolutely amazing!

Wait - did you re-draw and re-etch the entire thing for each additional plate? There must be a technique to getting each plate's image nearly identical for them to align. This sounds like so much work... What's the trick?
No tricks, lol. If you watch the video portion from 6:57 minutes to 7:50 you will see me pulling the first proof and then putting a blank plate on the press. When I run the blank plate through it transfers the image from the print on to the blank plate. I use that transferred image as a guide when creating the next plate. I repeated the transfer to three additional plates total and ended up with a four plate print. Registration by placing the plates on the press in exactly the same place each time, is critical to my printmaking process. I do redraw and re-etch each plate but only the areas of the plates that I want to add colour. I estimate this print took me 400 plus hours to complete. Hope that helps explain it. I do have another video posted on this UA-cam channel titled “Transferring an image from one plate to another” that shows the process as well.
I love to see your work
Thank you!

I’ll have to get that on the easel!!!
Beautiful 😍

Thank you. 🙂
Remarkable work truly inspiring.
Thank you! 🙂
That is a seriously beautiful print.
Thank you!
For somebody like me who has trouble drawing a straight line with a ruler, this looks like magic, and you have to do it for every color. Thank you for an awe inspiring video.
You are welcome. Thank you for your kind words. I enjoy the process and am so pleased this video has captured the interest of others to the beauty of printmaking!
Fascinating work, thank you for sharing
Thank you!
Love it. Fascinating!!!!
Thank you! 😊
great work now i understand how get texture in different areas
Examples can be found of embossed collagraph prints where no ink is used at all relying on the textures to create the image. Truly fascinating!
Thanks again!
Hallo if may ask does the final print on the paper have texture feel of the different tone
Yes it does, especially from the collagraph plate which has a lot more texture than the etching plates do. I will be posting another video tonight that shows how I made a multi-plate print using two collagraph plates an one etching plate. Once again it shows the process from beginning to end but offers more information on collagraph. Thank you for you interest! 😊
@@ritaloehrart3919 really waiting for it and kindly let me know between spot color and cmyk which best suits intaglio printing.
@@craveilmugoh.2387 Thank you for your questions. In my experience cmyk is more suited to offset printing rather than intaglio. I usually know what I have in mind but prefer to mix the colours during proof time. I do often use transparent base mixed with the some of my inks as I go too along. Pulling the proofs are always a bit of a surprise so I like the flexibility of mixing the colours to suit. 😊
@@ritaloehrart3919 Thanks i get you😘how can i get you easily incase i have a question to ask mybe whatsapp
I don’t use Whatsapp but you can comment here and I will respond ASAP.
veryy good
Thank you. 😊
@@ritaloehrart3919 how do you polish zinc plate
@@oguzkagg I start with steel wool, not too coarse, and work down to fine steel wool. I use plate oil to lubricate the plate while polishing with the steel wool. Then I move on to a product known as brasso and polish it with a cloth until is shinny and smooth. I posted another video yesterday that shows the process in more detail if you are interested.
Fascinating process; thank you so much for sharing. Such a lovely image; makes me think of the Kipling poem The Way Through the Woods.
Thank you. I have always loved the process of working the plates. Love the reference to The Way Through the Woods. So glad it can take you there! I live on Vancouver Island surrounded by rainforests of majestic trees. Such beauty!
@@ritaloehrart3919 I live on another island - Anglesey, in North Wales. No rainforests, but magnificent views of the Snowdonia Mountains :)

Amazing work! Respect.
Thank you! I appreciate your kind words. 😊
Just came across this purely by accident. I hope there will be lots more coming. You know me as Channing. Thank you.
Hi Channing, I plan to post this print from beginning to end and post it in the next few days. They are fun to do but like printmaking, take a lot more time to put together than it looks. Thanks to you too!
@@ritaloehrart3919 I will keep an eye out for the rest of the series. You do these very well ....both the printmaking and the presentation of the video. Very infpormative.
My spelling is fine...I just can't type!
@@siobhan2436 Thank you, sorry I missed your comment!
Remove grease from the plate, polish it, warm the plate and roll on the etching ground with rubber roller. Every inking of the plate is concluded by wiping with the side of your hand and white powder, this is the ancient and best way.
Thank you. I agree in some cases and I have used ball ground in the past but usually prefer liquid. I don’t make it a practice to polish the plates with talcum powder as the last stage of inking. I prefer the result of leaving some of the ink residue to print. I often use a combination of intaglio and collagraph as well and enjoy the precision of the etching and the looseness of the collagraph.
I did enjoy her work; it's beautiful :) Love the warmth in the leaves. I'll go take a gander at the website. Hope you have a wonderful and productive New Year! 👌😊 -Best of luck on your art and your channel, and much support from one artist to another. -Huge 👍's up!
