The Most Beautiful 2 Minutes of Music (Part 1) - Keith Jarrett (piano cover)
Rick Beato talks about Keith Jarrett's improvisational style as being nothing less than extraordinary in his analysis of the most beautiful 2 minutes of music he's heard.
His analysis can be found here: ua-cam.com/video/0BgXCDuqZvM/v-deo.html
The 2 minute segment can be found in Keith's 'Solo Concerts, Bremen/Lausanne' here, and I believe is considered part of Lausanne I: ua-cam.com/video/Kp68gVWLymA/v-deo.html
I was completely captivated by these 2 minutes of music when I first heard it about a month ago and must have listened to this at least 50 times by now. I searched for sheet music but to no avail as I'm not exactly sure if this piece even has a name considering he's improvising the entire concert, and the 'Solo Concerts' video is over 2 hours long.
So, I started to transcribe it myself. I believe the right hand part is pretty much spot on, note for note. For the left hand part I had to take some liberties to get it as close as possible without driving myself crazy backing up, slowing down, replay, repeat, and on and on (big thanks to looptube dot xyz).
If you happen to know if sheet music exists for this piece please let me know in the comments. I plan to transcribe and create a video of the 2nd part and will upload that...hopefully soon.
Enjoy.

The Rolling Stones - Wild Horses (piano cover)
Переглядів 1,1 тис.11 місяців тому
A true classic, originally composed by the Rolling Stones, but first released in 1970 by The Flying Burrito Brothers. The Stones later recorded it for their 1971 album, Sticky Fingers, upon reconsidering its worth. Back in the day I used to play this song on the grand piano in the Memorial Union at Arizona State. Leave a comment if you were there :)
Elton John - Tiny Dancer (piano cover)

The solo part of Tori Amos's cover of Led Zeppelin's 'Thank You'...apologies for the poor camera angle mostly missing the left hand part. The full sheet music can be found here: ua-cam.com/video/uaLuh2tAmeQ/v-deo.html

The Black Crowes - Descending outro (piano cover)
Переглядів 2,5 тис.3 роки тому
After almost 9 years since I recorded an analog version of the intro and outro of Descending, I finally got around to recording a digital version. After comparing the first couple of takes to the original song I noticed a few parts where I'd been playing the wrong notes in the melody. They've been mostly corrected. There are more, so keep an eye out for an updated version...in another 9 years.....
The Rolling Stones - Loving Cup (piano cover)

With the incredible Nicky Hopkins on piano, this is one of my favorite Rolling Stones tunes (from their 1972 album Exile on Main St.), of which I only learned existed recently (over 45 years after it was released...how did I miss it all these years?). You can find the note-for-note transcription of this on Elmo Peeler's ManyMIDI Products website.
Van Halen - (Piano Tribute to Eddie Van Halen)
Переглядів 5403 роки тому
A short 4-minute tribute to Eddie Van Halen, one of my favorite childhood musicians who passed away in 2020. I decided not to cover the usual keyboard and piano songs, like Dreams, Jump, and Right Now, as there are plenty of great covers out there already. I hope you enjoy this piano medley of songs originally played by Eddie on piano, organ, and guitar.
Yanni - First Touch (piano cover)

A cover of one of my favorite Yanni songs, from the album 'Niki Nana', released in 1989.
Rush - A Farewell To Kings - Intro Piano Cover

A small tribute to Neil Peart (1952 - 2020) who inspired so many.
Terra Firma - an original composition
Переглядів 245 років тому
I originally composed and recorded this song in 1996. It is one of several original pieces written to be the background music for a self-help CD-ROM that was being created at the time in Tempe, Arizona. That project never saw the light of day. 23 years later, however, this song will finally see the light of day, thanks to my son for dusting it off and putting it to video. Enjoy.

The Black Crowes She Talks to Angels Acoustic version (Piano Intro)
I'm sure Part 2 will worth it! 👌
Amazing, would love to take a look at the sheets once you transcribe it!
Wow! That was incredible! So good performance!
anyone know which artist this outro was inspired by? someone mentioned a pianos (instrumentals only) from the 70s once. (maybe stephen something?) and i can't remember who that was, but i wish i could find that artist and check him out more
That is magnificent my friend. The Stones had so many wonderful musicians collaborating with them during this time. I love me some STONES!!!!!!
Nicky Hopkins and many other session musicians deserve so much more recognition than they were given. Great job! 👏🏻
Nicky Hopkinks was't one session musician for the Stones but like Mick Taylor an essential one during their best musical period, so creative.
Sensational ❤.. i love this song
Nice 🎉 nailed it note for note
Wow, the real Nicky tone
What a beautiful buzz 👌
very nicely delivered
Perfect as always from B.C
It's a beautiful thing.
Well done !
the only one who got it right on youtube compared to ed.
Oh my god dude im gonna play with this!
Thats funny 🤔 im hoping to buy a piano emulator for guitar
Lol. The electric piano emulators sound amazing. Post a version of the piano part in Revelation (Mother Earth)!
Pretty good. Can you try like one of the head bands that go over the forehead and attach a small camera?? Or if that's too much, maybe a different angle??
Beautiful! Dee always had a baroque feeling to it.
Thanks. And as they say, if it ain't baroque, don't fix it!
Awesome dude
Thanks Ray!
I wish I could do that. 😎

This is one of my favorite songs. It always transports me every time I listen to it. And hearing it played on the piano, in this way, struck me. It was nice listening to you, really. I will be listening to more of you and your channel Good luck 🎹💙👏🏻 I also have a channel dedicated to music and piano. If you'd like to take a look at it, I'd love to. Congratulations again :)

Great performance. Great!
Gorgeous!
Hahaha, that is precious!
Bro… You should be playing keys in a touring band…
This is a great cover…
You are FANTASTIC! And super nice! Thx a million for this performance and for responding to someone on where to go to help us figure these things out on a keyboard!!
Thanks Joey...I appreciate the comment!
This was awesome! Any chance you can do a tutorial?
Beautiful.
YES!!!!!!! GOD DAMN YES!!!!!
Very sweetly played, Nicky is happy now
Wowwww AMAZING!!!!
A+
Come on dlr1112, give us some diamond tiaras (semi cit. Mick Jagger with Nicky Hopkins 😊)
Awesome 👏
That performance really shows, what an hell of an composer Eddie was! And it takes a very good player, like you to catch the entire EVH Vibe!🤘💎🤘
Great job
Wow, absolutely nailed it. I'd give anything for this performance from an overhead angle so that I can put the pause button to better use and try to figure out exactly what's going on.
I'll have to work on the overhead camera positioning thing. In the meantime just grab the sheets from Elmo Peeler's site and improvise: www.manymidi.com/sheetmusic.htm#LovingCup
@@dlr1112 Thanks for the link and your interpretation. My husband is a classical concertist and appreciated specially Nicky :)
How do I even go about learning how to play like this?
Just imitate the greats, like Nicky Hopkins, Chuck Leavell, and Billy Powell...and don't stop playing!
