I didn’t see you Install the gasket in which I’m trying to do as well, dealer says to use gasket sealant? What do you recommend?
He never showed how to take the valve cover off😮
I believe it’s shown somewhere around the 7:40 mark, I could be wrong though
I just did the same process as in the video, except that I did not disconnect the battery and now when I start the car I get several collision assist errors and it does not go above 1500 RPM. Do you know what it could be? thanks a lot in advance.
@@dannyhedges831 you probably left something unplugged
What seals did you have to replace on this job
Did you have to replace the manifold seals ?
Yes
Incomplete video does not show how to install the valve cover gasket with or without gasket sealant etc etc 👎
Video is not intended for a DIY at home job. If you payed a bit more attention, at the beginning of the video I make it very clear by stating that I will NOT be providing a complete “step-by-step” video. Solely intended for a technician that would like to have a quick overview of what goes involved into doing this particular job. Usually I would like to say, “I appreciate the feedback”, however, your inability to thoroughly comprehend an informational video is out of my control.
I have one of these coming up, appreciate you posting this.
My c200 2016 is not blowing hot air and is overheating, the tempetrature sky rockets when i was driving the other day. Could it be the thermostat?
It could be a numerous amount of things, best to get a proper diagnostic done to it and pinpoint what exactly it needs.
I literally have the same issue today and c200 2016, did you get yours resolved and if so how? Thank you
trash cars
What was the torque spec for the intake?
Thank you for adding the audio this helps a lot. there are some that don't. You might not have planned this but this is a good how to video, Well done.
Top video
Where is the coolant temperature sensor? Please answer
Coolant Temperature sensor is located on the thermostat assembly, as shown on this video.
Do you have to remove all that to access the Coolant Temp Sensor?
Yup
What about the coolant temp sensor???? And for those of you doing timing dont get me started on that oil pressure sensor switch that the wire goes through the bottom of the timing cover and if you aren’t careful you can break the plug the harness and or sensor itself Now Ask me how i know lmfao … it would be nice if there was a timing video on this engine with this year c300 275.1
Omg so difficult compared to domestic or Asian car all that for thermostat ridiculous!!!
Everything is so easy to get too just the problem is you would have to take apart most of it to get to that one thing.
Nice job. Can you point me in the direction for the valve cover gaskets...? Ty
You will need to use silicone for the sealer
@@JimFab202I don’t really do any mechanic work at all but I’m trying to do this on my own just for the gasket, so it doesn’t actually have a plastic gasket it’s just a liquid seal ?
@ that’s correct
What is the sequence sequence? Can you remove heads? Or valve cover bolts
What was the mileage of the car and were the intake valves heavily soiled?
At the time of this repair, the vehicles mileage was somewhere around 60k miles and no heavy carbon build up on valves was noted.
This video was very helpful it took my Certify mechanic 5 hours and half but the job was done thank you again he didn't watch the video but I did
@Je Jeanmarie how much $?
What a piss poor design!!
Do you have a video about how to change the water pump? Or can I get in touch with you ‘cause I have a big question on how to reinstall the pump. I really need help, hope you can give me a hand.
Thanks for the video! Indy tech in a shop. Got it done without a problem. Except book time was 1.6 hrs according to alldata. once i saw this,i was able to adjust accordingly
Glad it helped!
Thank you, with this video I did the Job on the street...took me like 8 hours...alott of connectors and hoses, bolts and screws...but job is done
I have this exact same car just having a little trouble finding the coolant temp sensor , any ideas ?
Hey do you know where coolant temperature sensor is ?
Hi Did you get answer for this? I couldn’t find where is the coolant temperature sensor for this car
@@raeshniroula8221did you find it ?
Thanks so much, I have been trying to get to the Throttle body on my Mercedes and was afraid to do something wrong, with this video I believe I can tackle the job now. Also can you tell me why is it that most engines in the US are so dusty?
Could be in the south west of the U.S. it's a big desert there
Needs a bigger exhaust tip
I changed the thermostat on my c300 after the scanner showed was the thermostat and it keeps overheating. What’s could be a possible solution?
Possible solutions can be a faulty water pump, cooling fans not operating properly, faulty temperature sensor and or computers.
What kind of silicone did you use to seal valve cover gasket? Permatex black is good?
I used an OE specific high torque silicone.
Keep posting more bro!
We're can I get this cam
GSC POWER DIVISION website
Thanks bud
damn thats fast
I can tell you’re hung
What tools did you use on the right side where there’s a little shield covering the last bolt?
I believe I used a 1/4 drive swivel attachment to be able to sneak it out.
@@JimFab202 did you take off the heat shield or what? I tried to work on mine the other day and the heat shield is such a bitch I gave up 😭
👍👍👏👏
Nice video, but what could cause top gasket damage in c230 Mercedes Benz v6
Top gasket usually goes bad simply due to age. It’s straight silicone, which over the years will get damaged and contaminated due to the engine oil and bypass gasses.
thank you so much for this video, it help me out a lot
Did it really take 12 hours?
Close to it
لو منزل مكينه كان احسن 😂😂
good to see him walk that gtr
My fucking guy. Wish you owned and could keep some videos coming
I’ll try to upload as much as I can! Thanks for the support!
I was told by two mechanics that these engines do not have valve cover gaskets. Is that true?
That is true. The valve cover gasket just consists of a solid silicone bead around the mating surfaces.
how much torque do they carry
Torque on valve covers is 12 Nm + 90 degrees
Hello! Is it need to change only thermostat? Or also intake manifold and some tubes or metal pipes? Just only thermostat? Does it need to clean intake manifold?
When replacing thermostat you need to replace all gaskets of components that get removed. Always clean parts that get reinstalled.
how do u like those falkens?
They are great with with no road noise! They also do very well on sand.
Nice Video Man! Lets see some 6.0 stuff!
Soon will have some 6.0 content coming up
how much is to do something like this???
With parts and labor you’re looking at somewhere around $800-$1100 out here in california.
$800 for a thermostat on a new car,?? Doesn't make sense"
@williepeters1258 it's the labour not the parts I got quoted 1400 in the UK 12h but the oil valve also needs doing wich is just by the thermostat
Good afternoon what was your torque wrench set at for nm at 19:36 mark of the video?
Eric Rios can’t remember exactly but somewhere around the neighborhood of 9-12Nm
@@JimFab202 would you happen to be able to point me towards the direction of finding that info ? Thank you
Eric Rios will most likely have to be either a source like AllData or Mitchel on demand for accurate information
Is there any way to tune out that hiss?
Anthony Harris put a muffler on it
@@JimFab202 any recommendations?
Anthony Harris MBRP makes them fairly quiet
@@iimgbillyrock you can get a tune that’ll have open vane while idling in park, sounds really good and doesn’t piss of neighbors, been running a tune like it for a few months now, any tunner can write that up for you
@@Olboy50 that’s what I was looking for if you don’t mind if you ever get the chance I’d like to see video
How did you diagnose that it was the thermostat that needed to be replaced?
Zero to 60 in 3 a code set for thermostat below threst.
