Weekly Competition (1:24.399) Asphalt Legends Unite - Nintendo Switch
I am still re-learning how to drive cars in this game. Drifting has been nerfed substantially. Also drifting itself is initiated differently than how it used to be in A9 on switch. You have to press drift and then let go of the button, and you will drift normally. Then when you are finished, you have to press drift again to cancel drifting or go into nitro. Sometimes there are turns where you want to end drifting but save your nitro so you have to press drift again at the end. However, the drift does eventually auto-cancel so if you wait to long, and press drift again, you will initiate a new drift. This can be complicated when you have two turns in a row where you have to drift but need to drive normally for 1 second in-between turns.
I have gotten enough of the new game mechanics that I can still have fun, but it’s not fully the same. I feel like I have less fine-tuned control, I bounce off walls a lot, as you can tell from this video. Hopefully that is something I can still improve. I use D-Pad with auto acceleration on and 50% sensitivity. I think I will eventually change the sensitivity once I get more used to the game.
Also, because of the new mechanics, the Electric R may now be easier to drive than the Glickenhaus. I haven't got that much practice with the Glickenhaus though, so I may be wrong. The higher acceleration with the Electric R is more valuable under this new mechanic for sure though.

All of the decals we could have gotten easily or from money, but missed out recently on Switch. Only the first one is possible on switch, from 100% completing it’s Special event in 2021. Was waiting patiently for a second chance to get this decal and because of the extended delays of Switch getting Unite, I will miss it by 2 days 😭😭.

Who knows what is even happening in the game. I had time so I decided to do a quick garage update. My audio messed up at the end, but I am not going to re-do it. I messed up the beginning as my car decided to spin weird in mid-air but I was still able to save the run. Normally I go on the right side of the parked truck but even though I went on the left, I was still able to shockwave out of the turn and get on the paved road before my nitro ran out, which is critical. I got fairly lucky on my alt where i got the neon edition reward again so i got extra tokens and decided to invest in Carrera Packs. I got 3 then 9 which helped to unlock 🎉
