@@reloadgolf1 so do I that's the rules of golf but there are exceptions like for instance say a tree branch blows down and then your ball is on top of it that's a loose impediment you can get a free drop remove the branch. You can't move your ball in a divot but if it's on top of a loose divot that's a different story. 👌

I’ll be honest Daniel I don’t think there was much thought process if I’m honest! 😂😂 It was never going to happen but I think blind optimism made me hope I was wrong and I somehow found an extra 30 yards from nowhere, but looking back you’re absolutely right, I should’ve hit a 6 iron and left a full shot in so I was less likely to go in the bunker. @@oliver69cork46 thanks for the comment Oliver, I’m glad you enjoyed the video! I really enjoyed putting using just irons to the test and I think the par 5 proved that you don’t need Woods, just play it as a three shotter and don’t get in to trouble. Simple golf with effective results!

Thanks for the compliment Oliver, although after those shots on 11 and 12 I might have to beg to differ! I do need to get a 2 iron, I think that would work well. I’ve actually filmed a round where I only use irons, it’ll be out in a couple of weeks time so keep an eye out for that! Do you only use irons?

@@reloadgolf1 a couple of weeks-torturous wait!!! I play 2 iron to 64 degree wedge and 16 handicap, love my long irons on narrow fairways,lose distance compared to a driver but if missed hit,much less slice etc. Thanks again

Yes he is a lovely guy and I think a bit of a bandit being off 17.2! Regarding the scramble, it’s like you can read my mind! The weather beat us to film it on the same night as this match, but we’ll find another time to get it done and it’ll be out soon!

Thanks for the comment David, it was great to learn more about the course and it’s had such a long history that I had no idea about! Thank goodness it was saved from being closed, when I was there it was so busy, not just with golfers but people from the park using the clubhouse for ice creams etc, it was great to see. And with the green fee being so reasonable it really is a way to get new and current golfers playing regularly in the local area. My swing definitely needs some looking at, and I have been on the range recently to work on a few changes, but I struggle to get there regularly so I’m concerned major changes just aren’t possible, but I’ll certainly try! @reloadgolf1 I was in the same position. Best thing to do is to film your swing from waist height and directly in line with your feet. Look at the swing and what you feel needs to change. Stand in front of a mirror and try to get the feeling of the new swing by looking in the mirror constantly. Go to the course late in the evening once a week or so and only play about 3/4 holes before dark. Hit a few balls from the same spot and record the swing. Check the swing after every shot and recognize the difference between the swing you want to see and what is showing in the video. Do that for a few months and you won't need to see the range at all !

@@reloadgolf1 What I would recommend is find someone on tour whose swing you would like to replicate. Find videos of their swing and try to replicate it at the start. Once you have the feeling you can start to work on little things that you see in your videos of yourself! Let me know if that makes sense 👍

You’re right David, in hindsight I should’ve hit Driver. Generally, I like to hit 3 iron on the first to get in to the round, but all the trouble was left so driver would’ve been a better play. Even if I’d hit it like I did on the second, like you say it would’ve just been safe on the 9th. I know for next time. Do you play there often? What do you think of the course?

Sounds like a great idea regarding your society, to have Cavendish in the diary every year must be so exciting. @@reloadgolf1 where do you travel from and what’s your handicap?

We travelled from Leicestershire, I think it took about an hour and a half but it was a very scenic drive. Handicap wise I’ve only started back playing the last year (I used to play when I was a kid) so I’ve not got one yet, but I’d say I’m around a 15 handicap. Hopefully I can work on the short game a bit and can brain it down. How about yourself?

@@reloadgolf1 the majority of our society is based in Leeds with a few from Liverpool - so the Leeds lads have longer to travel to get to Cavendish. We all agree that the drive in is one of the most scenic drives you'll ever do and builds up the excitement as you get 30 minutes or so away. May I recommend playing Nefyn if you haven't, just be sure to book to get on the old course called 'The Point.' As for handicap, in the society I was 14.7 but after a major win at Leasowe earlier this month, I've been cut to 11.1. We play Cavendish in June, that shot shave is really going to hinder my chances of winning there.
