The Things We Do. . .

Things We Do . . . for our 4 legged family members. After a few hours of play, When she was LITTLE, Kia used to come to me in the hammock & look at me with those expectant eyes saying matter of factly, "Okay Miss April, I've played hard all morning, I'm ready for my nap in the hammock with you!". lol She's not so easy to get in the hammock with Miss April anymore. Lol LOVE THIS GIRL!

I am letting the #Shepard establish boundaries with the #rottweiler to give him confidence in setting healthy boundaries. These videos are jam packed with great information!! Thank you so much April! I have a 17 month old fear reactive mini Aussie. Since we got him a year ago, he has really improved with lots of encouragement. I also found that making sure he gets plenty of exercise and structured training and activities has really helped to build his confidence. I had to stop coddling him! I thought bc he was so anxious that telling him “it’s ok” etc was the right thing to do but I was only reinforcing his fears.

    Thank you so much for these videos! I wish you were closer to me, there doesn't seem to be anything like this by me in New Jersey. I have an 11 month old German Shephard/Black Lab mix that I adopted from a rescue at 10 weeks old. I started working with him right away and he's been in obedience training since. He is a great boy and so smart, but seems timid and a little reactive to dogs on the street since he had a bad experience with neighbors who let their dogs run loose on our walks and rush at him. I am adopting a female, smaller dog coming from Texas on Saturday, just over a year old. Do we do this meeting (like in these videos) on mutual ground? Where my dog has never been? I'm really trying to have their first meeting go well. To add a little stress to the situation I've been told that she yips and snaps a little at bigger dogs (she's 28 lbs) until she realizes the won't hurt her and then she is fine.

      Definately let the little one meet first if her fear is greater. Esp watch for NO eye contact. Id Watch the PupTappin video as well as those energy tools will disrupt be neg energies from locking in. And the K9omg will actually transmute that energy forever but it's gonna take time as the trauma/ low tolerance is in layers. There's a Log book where you can keep track on my web site. k911academy.com under Other paper work. And Id love to have you send me copies to use that info for my book. Congratulations & Good luck. Let us know how it goes. PupTappin while ones being sniffed helps too. Miss A

    In a scenario where you may have your dog in the yard, and theres a dog in the yard next door or walking on the street, how do you hadle the situation? I have tried correcting the negative reactions and even inviting positive reaction without getting nervous myself, but these scenarios seem to set off my dog and she wont disengage.

    • @aprilsk911academy
      @aprilsk911academy 24 дні тому

      If its a neighbor dog also try correcting them with an ultra sonic. Him barking at your dog is like say, "Hey Im gonna kick your butt", and is rude. You can also use a neg. marker, Eht. And dont forget to praise him if he quits. I would try the #Peeps2PupsK9Connection #K9OMG with her. Please keep a good log sheet so I can use it for my book. You get that off my web site under more papers. k911academy.com And Please let us know how it goes. Also learn the PupTappin so you can stop any new peptides from forming causing another layer of trauma. Do this at a distance before she hits the red zone, PupTappin her out several times. Praise her for being calm. Try again later seeing if you can get closer. Keep records & good luck. The dogs walking by with owners are tricky without ticking them off.

    my 100 pound fur rocket loves all dogs, but they dont love her. She gets bitten as she is overly friendly. But this is a good exercise. I still think little yappy dogs are the problem. You train your dog every day and then a yappy comes along.

    • @aprilsk911academy
      @aprilsk911academy Місяць тому

      Yes, And you have the right to protect your dog so carry a squirt bottle and correct them from Yelling at her that they're going to kick her butt. But make sure you praise them when they're quiet. And you can also tell your dog that those are bad dogs that are yipping at you so she doesn't react to them. And your dog may have overjoyed if she shows any other signs such as barking a lot, cowering up to dogs or peeps, startles easily. And that is hidden fear. And especially if she's not listening and they bite her.

    • @aprilsk911academy
      @aprilsk911academy Місяць тому

      Also if another dog has to actually bite than you're pup pushed them past their boundary & just helped them with another layer of trauma so they will stay sensitive. We should correct OUR dogs for being too pushy because when you say nothing at all, we're telling them that behavior is acceptable & they do not learn proper boundaries from their pack leader. :) .

We are hardwired for joy. & now we can live in joy more than less than love. Try it . Nothing to lose but those ugly emotions.

    I have been healing Omari's traumas for about a year and we have been doing the canine OMG and pup tapping with April. When he was about 6 months old he had an Australian shepherd get in his face and really tell him off. Ever since that encounter he has despised cattle dogs. Since we have been healing his trauma I have watched his confidence grow. Today we were at the arena doing some speed events with the horses and a red heeler came into the announcers stand with its owner where Omari was with me. Omari stood up so he could see the dog and then just laid back down. He was calm and relaxed and there was no fear based reactivity. I am so glad I reached out to April and started taking Omari to her Grumpy Dog workshops. I now have hope that I can show him in obedience without fear of Omari having a fear based reactivity to other dogs.

    Loved this! You seem like a great trainer April. I also am partial to dogs who seem aggressive or super reactive, like when walking by their fence. Almost every time, if I get my puppy to act correctly and I project confidence in the interaction, the other dog calms and is actually happy for the interaction because they know they have no reason to fear it. My pup now has some bff's throughout the neighborhood that get very excited for the daily interaction. A lot of people who have dogs that seem really aggressive and reactive don't understand that it's their own behavior that reinforces the behavior in the pup. Great video that more owners definitely need to see. That boerboel puppy was absolutely gorgeous! I love that the owner is being proactive in the training as that's not a breed for the faint of heart haha.

      Thank you. Many people tell me they have a COVID puppy which means it didn't get socialized. But the truth of the matter is, it starts with our genetics. And then yes, the owner's energy project onto the dogs. But well, bred, dogs could never be socialized and tied up for a year.And the first person they meet they say hey you want to be my friend. That's genetics but the cool thing is with The energetic K9 Connection technique we can help the dog and the owner. I'm excited to share these new techniques. Try the #PupTappin & #Perps2PupsK9Connection & let us know how it goes. I'm looking to build a certification program so we can have more people help these misunderstood dogs safely, & quickly! Thank you for saving, 1 dog at a time & have this friends watch this. Even if they don't do the energetics they'll still be a step ahead and they'll be happier dogs.

    If they seem to get worse it's because it's a change & we all know insecure pups don't like change. THIS IS VITAL At This time to teach your dog how to have confidence in the things he's afraid of & keep very strict boundaries. You may even have to go back and retreat. Your dog thinks he already knew , but now he's got to learn it without that low inner vibration. Number the progress and watch them grow. When removing negative energies, it's like peeling an onion and you have lots of layers. So this work is not a one fixed all thing. Although it has some amazing results with doing things only one time. Watch our 3 Pt Fixing the Reactive Dog Docu series. #reactivedogs #energymedicine, #peeps2pupsk9connection,#youcanhealthat MissA If you try any of these tools, leave a comment & let us know the changes you saw. Yes contacted ACO, they said they'd go talk with them. Let's hope. It's not the first time. They're other dog used to bark for like 1/2hr & longer almost every day. (I think they got rid of him). He told me they're was coyotes & he can't make his dog stop. Un educated. You can teach your dog. "Thank you for letting me know, you can be quiet now." And it would come out of the yard as well. Id rather educate people than just get them in trouble. When you allow your dog to stay in fear mode, it makes them worse & more insecure & is a contributing factor to our 200% Reported dog bite increase, 3 human deaths, 1 arm amputation her in LC,NM. . That's no way to live life even for a dog.

      @@aprilsk911academy I agree 100% with teaching the humans. Unfortunately a lot of the people refuse to learn. My husband and I took our dogs for their daily walk and was attacked by two off leash dogs. While I was fighting off the dogs trying to stop them from getting my very young dog, the owner was several yards away and actually laughing. My young dog just made 2 years old and I work very hard to keep all my dogs from being dog aggressive, but people like this guy makes it near impossible. I have had to contact ACO before for a Belgian Mal. jumping our fence and attacking me in my yard. They ask me if this was a police dog, I said no, they ask me my name and address when I gave it she said “I see you have dogs are the kept in the yard and do I have licenses for each one and for me to bring in their shot records”. I told her all my dogs are licensed and up to date on shots, and what did that have to do with a dog jumping my fence and literally attacking me? She said it sounds like I just don’t like my neighbor. I am learning to dislike people more and more. What saved me from the Belgian was my Rottweiler.

    Seeing these videos makes me realize what a fabulous dog I have. Dogs have a lower tolerance to life these days because the people they're with are that way and they pick up on us. Hold the energy you want your dog to have.

      Some people can't because their own bodies are reacting. That's what's so great about the #Peeps2PupsK9 Connection #k9omg Program! They get to heal out together!!🎉
