Geoguessr - A Balanced Japan Moving 90s

#geography #geoguessr #japan #日本 I´m finally back after a couple busy days and this will be the beginning of a new playlist where I play A Balanced Japan on 90s Moving(slow gameplay) and focus on giving like silent explanations on what I see and what it tells me. I think the Plonk It Guide to Japan made a lot of people aware of the fact that Japan is such a beautiful country overall and also fo...

Geoguessr - 25k in Tottori 鳥取県
Переглядів 22Місяць тому
#geoguessr #geography #japan #日本 Since pinpointing and moving are generally my least developed skills, I try to work on them every now and then and combine them with my knowledge of manhole covers. Here I was a bit too lucky with the seed, so my knowledge didn't really come into play, so I might 25k Tottori again in the future. If you want to learn more about Japan, check out my guide on Zi8gza...

GeoguessrJP - 1 week progress
Переглядів 9Місяць тому
#geoguessr #geography #japan #日本 #manholecover I started working on manhole cover design exactly a week ago. I´ve only been focusing on city-specific designs, but also added some town-specific ones here and there. In Shimane and Tottori I even added every town-specific one I could find(only ones with at least two locations where I had a good view on it). I´ve now completed the Hokkaido, Tohoku,...

#geoguessr #geography #japan #日本 I got into manhole covers recently and Iwate is one of the prefectures that I finished learning(in terms of cities at least), so I thought I could try to 25k with my newly achieved knowledge and so I did it. Very good NMPZ. For that round in north Hyogo, I thought it would be somewhere in Chugoku because the mountains were not very tall.

      @Sho.44 Місяць тому

      Thanks. There was an unpainted sign post on the left which is very rare in Chugoku and If you look closely you can also see the yellow ring on it, so Hyogo was basically guaranteed, but yeah the mountains looked a bit like Chugoku, after all, it was pretty close to it.

      @@Sho.44 I couldn't get a good look in the video. If I was playing it, I may have gotten it, instead of Tottori where I thought it was... Also a bias because I went to Tottori IRL, it was nice

    manholes are very helpful

      They definitely are and what really surprised me is that most of them are actually quite easy to remember.

      @shinrafn Місяць тому

      @@Sho.44 I'd argue about half of them are easy to remember. the problem is that there's just too many. even though there are 1.7k municipalities at the moment, in reality, even former municipalities have their own manholes so that makes it 3200 ish municipality manholes to remember, and each municipality have a logo and 1-2 designs atleast. its annoying because you can't predict what shows up in game unfortunately

      Oh wow, so this whole manhole cover stuff is going on since like the 80s or something? I think I´ll just stick to city specific ones for now. I feel like town specific ones could be very confusing. Do you have a sensible strategy for learning these(decreasing the number essentially) or would you recommend just learning them all?

    • @shinrafn

      @@Sho.44 the easiest route i've found that works for me is just logging every manhole i've seen in abj no move with a clear view onto my anki deck. i've gathered around a thousand now, they range from core cities to obscure former towns and villages so this method may not be for everyone. it's just that the community's main map is abj and i just think gathering one's i've encountered within the map in no move maximizes the manhole's efficiency. trust me, learning them all pref by pref or city by city can get overwhelming, there are almost 800 cities and you cant predict if its the logo or one of the many designs appear in game. the main key to manhole learning is actually just the motivation to memorize the designs, if you feel overwhelmed, the designs wont stick to your head

      @@shinrafn I mean when it comes to the actual learning, I think I´m doing fine with my method(I have like about 300 down already). I was more so talking about reducing the number with maximum efficiency, as for some cities for example there are so few manhole covers that it wouldn't really be worth learning the couple ones wich you can actually see through street view and I´m guessing that this is even worse in smaller towns or villages.
