Hello everyone! Thank you for stopping by and checking out my video… I created a Lap-book out of two old books to showcase Tracies „Curious Case of Craftly Hall“ Digitals. I am in no way affiliated with Tracie Fox (other than I buy her digitals LOL). Her story of Craftly Hall inspired me to create my own version. I hope you enjoy my Lap-book. Boho Beads 1 - Getting started & supplies
Переглядів 7 тис.5 років тому
This is my first video so please be kind! Last year l was inspired by Jacqui Chimes Boho beads that l had to make my own. There are a lot of wonderful videos out there but this is how l make them. You can find Jacqui’s video here -ua-cam.com/video/-C1z6-gk88o/v-deo.html
Is the fabric on the top or bottom
@@joychip5994 the fabric is on top, napkin on bottom.
@ thank you. It looks lovely so you actually put it on patterned fabric. I must have a go with that.
This is so amazing! You kept turning the pages to reveal wonderful surprises! I couldn’t believe that there were so many sections, pages and inserts! Absolutely gorgeous!
@@cecilenichols8590 thank you so much 😊
Oooh! I love the Botanical Fabric, it's gorgeous for making a card or a framed art piece, if you don't put any glue on it then a lovely little pillow as a gift, you can put some lavender inside add a sweet velvet ribbon and you have a beautiful item for yourself or a gift.
What great gift ideas! Thank you!❤
In the U.S. it's Parchment Paper. Your idea of dipping the string in the glue is the best idea thank you Liz. I like the Botanical napkin I can think of a lot of wonderful things to use these for. You can make card fronts for a background and it will make a lovely card.
Thank for the great ideas what l can do with the papers!
this is great. I was curious how the bought papers were made so I'm sure this is similar at least. Thankyou for sharing.
My pleasure, glad you like it😊
Hi Liz. Way to go making the technique your own and getting it out there! The more people making, the better. 🌷🌼🌻Kelly
@@BookandPaperArts thank you for the inspiration and the lovely comment 😊
Do you use any mordants for your fabrics Liz? If for example you did the printing on a silk scarf that would ned to be washed? Great video especially showing how to use wider fabric.
@@jeanchalliner5341 No l didn’t use any mordants since l don’t plan on washing the fabric it was suppose to be for my journal but as all experiments go, l got carried away! 😊 I definitely would treat the fabric with something, either Alum or maybe Bubble Jet. Definitely test on scraps if you are going to wash it! I will have to try this out next year (all the leaves have fallen now ☹️ Let me know how it goes if you do test.
Thank you for the tutorial. I can see where this could be one addicting.
@@dianemendoza3010 Have fun! You’ve been warned! 😜
Hermosos papeles genial esas ideas 🎉🎉🎉, saludos desde Puerto Rico 🇵🇷 ❤😊

Wow omgosh this is so cool!! I've never seen anything like it before!! And on fabric to!!! I cnt wait to try it. Much love fm MI❤❤❤. TFS!!
@@shawnrobinson6718 Have fun!!
FUN!
This is such a fun video. I’m going to try this!
There are always someone who finds something to complain about😖 they just can't get something valuable out of a learning process🤐don't pay any attention to the grumblers, because they will always find something to complain about always!😡 Just do your videos, take hints from those who have done videos for awhile and move on. I for one appreciate the efforts you put into making this video. Too bad these perfect people don't live in a perfectly perfect world. We can Always learn something new and valuable from someone else, even if only one small thing. As an Artist and crafter for many many years everyone can learn a new technique or craft if they want to, those who only want to find fault in others trying to pass on a new skill or craft are far more than those who constantly look for reasons to complain!! Sickening!! 💖 Stay on it and don't let them discourage you for one minute. 🤗😊 Thank you Liz!💗
Thank you for the kind words. I know l have lots to learn making videos, In German we have a saying…a Master doesn’t fall from the sky! So l will keep trying and hopefully one day even the grumblers will have something nice to say! Until then l will concentrate on the nice comments like yours! Thank you 😊
Great demo, thank you for sharing.
My pleasure.
Thank you Dear
Absolutely love this and i think i will definitely be addicted.. thank you for sharing.❤️❤️
Have fun with your new addiction! 😊
Wow I love it
How lovely, I would love to incorporate this technique into my sewing projects! ❤ what is the machine called? Can I buy it on Amazon ?
I am using a Sizzix Big Shot. There are many brands of Die Cutting machines. There are also off-brands that work good. I am sure you can find something on Amazon… they have everything! 😂
@ thank you 🙏
Thank you for sharing 😂
SOOO AWESOME !! next on my list !! Thank ye !!!😊❤🎉
Have fun!
I love this. Definitely going to try it Thank you ❤
Clever😊
Hi it's me again. I don't know what your background is but I've watched a couple of your amazing teaching videos. Each time I watch, I am truly impressed with your attention to detail and your easy-to-understand instructions. I love how you share your experimentation so your viewers don't make the same mistakes. There is no doubt in my mind that you get everyone's creative juices going. You go Girl! Amazing! You have an amazing gift.
@@BevStorer this is the nicest comment anyone could say to me! Thank you so much! Normally l am bag pattern designer (Moments by Liz on etsy) but l love Mixed Media, Junk Journal, painting and all kind of crafts but most of all l love inspiring others to create. That is why l started this channel to share some of the crazy things l do. Thank you for making my day…heck week! ❤️
oh Liz I love this,I'm going to try to put my chirdren face napkins on fabric for my scrapbook that i'm making..Thank you,Donna
@@Donna-j5v thank you 😊 Your idea sounds great! Let me know how it goes? Is it possible to post pictures here? I’m new to all this YT stuff.
When you did it on the fabric did you have to seal it ?
No l did not, l wouldn’t even know what to seal it with ? I don’t plan on washing it. I am testing now if soaking the fabric in Alum makes a difference .
Oh my goodness how beautiful and fun is that!!! I just love it!! And you are so right, the possibilities are endless!! I’m picturing book covers and lamp shades and seed sharing envelopes right now!!
What great ideas you have for using these papers! Thanks for inspiring me.❤
would love to see the inside! Wow, fab cover! You definitely have a gift of creativity!
It's wonderful, it's so magical 🎉❤
I do find it as cool as you do!! I’m going to give it a try ! Thanks for sharing
@@PeggySanders-h6o l am glad you like it and will give it a try.
Thank you for taking the time to teach all of us your technique for making pretty coffee dyed papers. The use of placemats and table clothes for stencils is genius. Keep up the good work. It takes a special person to share their knowledge and never ask for anything in return. The fine mist sprayer is a must when using stencils.
Oops one more thing I forgot to mention. You are an EXCELLENT instructor. 🥰
Ohhh thank you for the lovely comment! It made my day!!! I believe knowledge ( and experiments) are only good when shared with others. I want everyone to have as much fun in their hobby spaces as l do.
Great idea. As a junk journal crafter, I learned a lot from you in this video. As long as I have been tea and coffee dying paper, I never, ever thought of just spraying the color on. Honestly, I usually just soak my papers in the dye but spraying is much faster and allows me to control the color density. Thanks girlfriend!
Check out my Coffee dying papers video. I use to soak the pages like everyone else und one day l need papers now and l didn’t want to spend hours in the kitchen making them. So l decided just to spray them on my table ( l lay a big old towel down, this way the paper isn’t laying in the coffee so it dries faster.
Thanks for sharing. I have walnut ink powder for making walnut ink for calligraphy and I thought I would try this too.
Goid idea! I am sure walnut ink would also work! Let me now how it goes?
And here I was hammering leaves and flowers ! Such a pain! This is much easier! Thank you!
My pleasure !
Ty so much for this wonderful inspiration, going to do this🎉
Have fun! Be warned, it’s addicting! 😊
I’ve never seen this wonderful technique! Just found your channel & subbed! Thank you for sharing! 💖
Thanks for subscribing… be warned this is very addicting! 😊
It's called parchment paper in US. Enjoyed your video and will try your method!!
Thank you 😊 Have fun!
I've done something similar but I'm going to try your way. Yours turned out fabulous!
Thank you. Loved your explanations and tips.
I am glad you liked it.
Hi, Can you try it with tissue paper? The kind you wrap a gift with? Then you could make different paper.
Tissue paper might be a little thin ( might get soaked). I will try and get some tissue paper and give it a try. If you try it first, let me know how it goes:
@@LizzieSchaffner I don't have a die cutter. Let me know if you do try it. I might buy one this Christmas. 😊
I would have never thought to do that. I’m a gardener too. I guess I need to to go find some goodies outside.
I’ve seen several vids of this technique. This is my favorite vid so far. Tsmfs!
Thank you so much! I am glad you enjoyed it.
Great instructions for just what I wanted to do. Thank You so much.
@@gaylecewpie5012 My pleasure! Have fun!
This is probably the greatest invention ever! My creative juices are flowing. Thank you for sharing this. I’ll have to get the U.S. measurements for the glue. I especially loved the fabric and napkin one at the end. Gorgeous ❤️
Thank you for the lovely comment.❤ The measurements are also listed in Imperial measurements the description dropdown window. Have fun!
@@LizzieSchaffner thank you, I just saw them. That will help. Can’t wait to make some of these. I have probably over 200 napkins, what’s wrong with me! 😂
@@erikahatcher5492 😂 you are not alone!!
Looks fun to try. Thank you.
Beautiful!! Thank you!
Hello, I love your video! Thanks for the ideas! If you were going to spray it with coffee, at what point would you do that? Thanks
Thank you, I am glad you enjoyed it. You can spray it with coffee, spray paints, watercolor, etc. at anytime. A lot of times I leave my papers natural until I know what I want to use them for and then I „color“ them.
Can I make a suggestion? Try it with starch, water and add 1 spoon of sugar as well.
Suggestions are always welcome! When you say starch do you mean cornstarch ??
@@LizzieSchaffner Both wheat and corn starch will do, but when they are not available I also use flour.
@@AynurBobaroglu I did use cornstarch for this technique... i wonder what the sugar does besides attract the bees? ummm ?
@@LizzieSchaffner 😀
I saw a way to separate napkins without tears... I think I saw Dragana do it on her UA-cam channel, SAACIBO... I think it was her, but don't quote me! Either way, I highly recommend her channel anyway, even if she wasn't the one with the napkin hack. So you get a bone folder, and rub it gently but firmly to smoosh the corner of a napkin. You want to flatten out the raised embossing dimples that hold the 3 layers together. They literally ping apart into 3 separate layers! It's amazing, and no tape required. I must remember to grab some cornflour for this. I've seen it before but keep forgetting. We call cornstarch CORNFLOUR here in England! 😁 Lovely papers you made! 😘
Or unlady like language! LOL
@@LizzieSchaffner was your reply to me? I don't understand...? Unladylike language? 🤷
@@tamielizabethallaway2413 sorry the reply went to the wrong comment. i shouldn’t comment until my second cup of coffee has kicked in! lol
Great ideas and wonderful tutorial. Thanks so much.
