I had a similar accident to your second one. I hit a curb with a wheel after trying to turn on an icy intersection. You should probably do an alignment check because my car alignment was completely off. As for your first episode, if you added more throttle, you would avoid the slide. But as always, it is easier said than done. In such situations, it is very scary, and the first instinct is to press brakes, which only makes things worse in the winter time.

I am not sure if Subaru still has this specific problem, but they were notorious for cracking oil pickup tubes. I changed mine in my 2004 STi back in the days when I owned the car with an aftermarket unit. People had their engines destroyed when the tube would break and no oil would reach the engine/turbo.

I think you're using the wrong Oil Filter. It looks too tall. The Perrin cover should work if you're using the Subaru OEM oil filter for your engine.

Get an OBD scanner so you can check it yourself, will save you a few bucks

Hey man just a few tips. Your fuel door is sticking because snow and water froze in the mechanics of the door. Your gas cap should be in the same horizontal position every time you click locked. If you get a CEL, most auto part stores will diagnose it or lend you the scanner. All the flashing lights associated with the CEL are because those functions are unavailable to use. Led bulbs only work in one direction; if they’re not working, try flipping it over. When doing donuts, make sure your traction control is full off; you hold the button in till the light flashes. Just pressing the button doesn’t shut it off fully. Weird. The car has over 100k mi, so just make sure you keep up with maintenance, you never know if she came from an abusive home. If you have the $700, I highly suggest a Cobb accessport. It too can diagnose a CEL and clear it. Lastly, never put cheap gas in it. Shell seems to be the go to.

Maintenance before fun, you obviously having issues with the car sliding around in snow should be your last priority. Go get the car scanned or buy a scanner and fix issues first, car is high mileage you have no idea how it was been treated before you bought it. Not trying to be an asshole I own one as well, they are fun but even more fun when everything is running right

If you want to take care of the car, at least put some weather tech floor mats in.

The tints look purple on video, i dunno about real life but if you get quality 20% tint, you can see out perfectly, i personally love tints expecially the heat/glare reduction + privacy
