At first hydrogen seems like the perfect solution to our automotive fossil fuel problem. It’s a pura, elemental gas that is everywhere, it can be clean, it can use vehicles similar to what we have and know (i.e. ICE), and in theory, can be refuelled easily. Unfortunately, even after many decades of research by many governments and large companies (e.g. BMW), serious obstacles remain: Storing it, it’s not always clean or when it is its unaffordable. Storage is one. Compressing the gas to useful quantities for a vehicle uses considerable energy and time. Using metals to absorb and release it has limitations. Storing useful quantities of one of the most flammable gases in a vehicle adds risk similar to a low explosive. Weight or volume of the tank is greater. When burnt in an ICE engine, hydrogen’s violent combustion breaks the nitrogen bonds in air and produces copious amounts of nitrous oxides also known as smog. If using fuel cells then these are laughably expensive. Useful only with extreme budgets such as in aerospace or marketing, not affordable for the masses. Always (since the 1970s at least), the same excuse is used, that these problems will be overcome with technology and the cost will come down. But the fundamentals remain and there is no known reason (by anyone) that they will change, at least as of now. It’s a bitter pill to swallow I’m afraid. It would be nice if H2 was the perfect fuel. Electric batteries have steadily become cheaper so hopefully EVs will become affordable for the working class

What is amazing is Bill Nye, the Science Guy, is now a world renown Astrophysicist. What a secular miracle! Yes, the JWST is amazing and its infrared images are exciting, but we must remember that these new galaxies may have died billions of years ago and all we are watching is the faint afterglow of their one time existence. It's not nice to say, but this is OLD NEWS, like digging up dinosaur bones, its relevance to our current existence is minimal.

Seems to me like the old problem of making large-scale observations and the theories that describe them fit the observations and theories that are suited to describe the processes on the size of quantum physics and even below that size. Like expanding space can be observed - are there space-time units expanding locally at the level of 10exp(-33) and they struggle to fit macroscopically? No questions are answered yet and rather new questions arise - not eliminating the value of the ones we already face.

Expansion is based on the wrong assumption that lights wavelength is constant, that is wrong. Wavelengths vary with the influence of gravity. And we cannot measure the effects of vast distances. The effect radiates about evenly from earth once again we are in the center of the universe and the earth is flat.
