I have a GL 550 that needs the rear cv axle changed. Do you have video for that? I'm stuck with removal techniques after removing the 36mm nut.

Apparently the "perfect" fluid level is established when the Trans is at 115F, but it seems to me the CTE (coefficient of thermal expansion) is negligible, and I doubt either the Plant or Dealership is so particular, but it DOES add an extra level of complexity for those that are on the verge of allowing a "professional" charge you an arm and a leg -- and STILL screw up (using a machine that over-pressures your transmission) a fluid change. But equally, draining the pan is a TERRIBLE "flush". The BEST process is: 1.) Disconnect the radiator lower-driver-side line 2.) Attach an CLEAR extension from the radiator out-fall into a opaque gallon jug inside a pail (spills) 3.) Attach an extension from the Hard-Line to a funnel (secured above the engine level) 4.) Run the engine (off & on), pouring equal New to replace the Old 5.) Repeat for 3-gallons until New Pink comes out (this will flush the Trans, converter, AND Radiator) 6.) -- ADD EXTRA one half quart to ensure "pan Over-Full-Plug" proper FULL Level when done -- 7.) Drain Trans pan to proper FULL Level. Happy motoring!

Nice video, very good insight about the job. So how is it holding up so far after a year later? Any issues with the aftermarket axle? Also I have a question about how you seated the outer part to the hub? Did it require any pressing or hammering? I highly doubt that you hammered a new axle but did not see that part in the video. I can see you pushed it hard to get in to the differential but not to the wheel hub.
