God Bless their hearts .... Tired mommy and taking very care of her family .... What a good mommy! She's Tired yet proud. I often wonder what emotions if any, go through their minds if and when a stillborn baby comes? I've watched our doxie actually take her nose and poke at certain toys where there ars several. To me, I think they have the ability to know how much and how many of certain things. I've heard and read other 'doxie parents' say this as well. We recently picked up a set of 5 squeaker toys for our mini, and she does the nose poking thing with them, and hunts if one or two are missing. Back to your newly born babies ... I hope all goes well. I'm sure you'll be well entertained over the coming weeks as their little eyes open, and they transform from little wobbles to walking, then running, play fighting, the little squeaks and grunts, watching mommy lie patiently as they nurse .... What a Blessing they are. Congratulations on the newbies, and to their mommy on a job well done. As I watch how they take cars of their young always brings to mind the fact that 'some people' would learn from it. Again, Congratulations with Blessings!

If the puppies do actually form groups of the same color, I would guess that they are using smell more than sight to do so. At that age, their sense of smell is far more developed than sight. It is possible that there is a slight difference in smell because of color. Color would also provide for slightly different temperatures.
