Can you be emailed to discuss your consultations. I am about to home school my high functioning child for the first time. I am a little apprehensive but encouraged bc I know this is what he needs! I need guidance
Hello, thank you watching this video. Yes this is our website: www.ctrhomeschooling.com/book-online
There's hope for him I was like this boy nonspeaking myself!
I feel this so much
😮😮😮😮
So the spu isn't factory reseting every time you go to sleep😂😂😂
Neurotypical people sound fake
Neurodivergents out here writing new code every time we want to do the same things we do every day 😭
Only women get away with living life in this mode. Men just don't have this option, you can't stand there trying to remember the process for averting a nuclear meltdown in a reactor, or how to seal a leak in deep sea drilling vein, you need to get in there and DO it before a disaster
Note- not everyone has that type of job. Not even men. I'd do it. I'm great in high stress and/or unpredictable situations. But day to day tasks kill me.
I may have just found out that I'm neurodivergent 😮
You mean they get to just hit enter on .exe and be done with it? Sounds peaceful.
Nah she ain’t nuerodivergent, I’m the same way. Y’all really drag this “neurodivergent” stuff, all of a sudden everyone wants to be autistic.
100%. "Autistic" is a great excuse for ineptitude
I'm with her. I don't get it.
Easy way to put it is like this: You tell a robot to press 1, then tell them to do it again, then again, then again until you've asked them one thousand times. You get a thousand 1s. Vs You tell a robot to press 1 a thousand times with a single command that you repeat maybe a few times before they get it. Both ways get you the same result. Just that one needed the instructions over and over but the other one needed the instructor to think about it less. Now apply this same logic to everyday life. You're the instructor and your body is the robot. Waking up, brushing your teeth, maybe you eat something, going to class/work. Some people think about doing these things as they're doing them. Others do them without even thinking about it and their minds focus on other things.
@@asahi7407 I can't tell if it's a nice gesture or if you meant to be insulting by thinking you had to explain this to me. I meant I'm with her in that I have to actually think about it while I'm doing it. I can't think about the next thing until I'm done with the one thing. Even though I know in my head what the next thing is. But if I think about the next thing while I'm doing the one thing I will forget to finish the one thing. So I must concentrate on what I'm doing in the moment before moving on. And while I know I can multitask at a lot of different things at a lot of different times, at none of the things I'm doing am I completely mindless of it. I don't understand people that are unaware enough to the point where they put things like then gay on their toothbrush. How is anyone that unaware of what they're doing right now? That is what I don't get.
When driving, I couldn't tell you street or direction, But if we had been there before, I used to tell my ex, just trust in my cerebellum and we will just get there.
Snorlax plush!
We all need one
Cerebellum is more about fine motor control, specifically coordination, precision, timing and in real time adjustments of movements based on stimuli Habits are in very different areas (e.g., nucleus accumbens, corpus striatum) while planning is managed by the frontal lobes
I'm neurodivergent, and don't do autopilot, but my wife is neurodivergent, and does have autopilot. There are no symptoms all neurodivergent people have in common. All it means is your brain is built different from most people's. It can be different in millions of different ways.
an there is the 3 one, I spent my whole life making that plan quite to the point where I forget to do stuff instead. life is a box of "ooooh yhhhh that's a thing I think I was possibly going to do" just need to say stuff out loud often 😂
Mhm, autism here, i got autopilot, this guy is correctomundo
Nice to have someone put this experience into words
We agree!!!😊 He did a fantastic job!
I have NEVER shuffled my playlists. It makes me nervous just thinking about shuffling my playlists. Also, I love counting stuff. Last night I was counting the trash cans in my mom’s house in my mind to fall asleep. Like sheep!
This is really interesting. What would be good doses to start off on?
I also never imagined i would experience any sort of road rage as I'm pretty live and let live. Never cared much about other drivers as a passenger. Once i started driving and getting comfortable, it really started getting under my skin when people were not keeping pace or doing dumb common senseless faux pas. I start getting a lil angry then have to take a couple deep breaths to catch myself and calm so i don't start making mistakes, too.
The slow walkers thing is so directly challenged when you become a parent and try walking anywhere with young kids lol. I want to let them experience their wonderful experiences but sometimes we gotta get the ffrik going lololol
Exactly this !!
The cancellation one depends on the situation. If it was something I was looking forward to, or felt needed to be done, then yeah, a last minute cancellation for any reason other than a dire emergency can be quite infuriating. Otherwise, if it was something that I was not actually looking forward to, or especially dreading, then a cancellation of that event actually brings a sense of relief instead, since I escaped an obligation that I didn't want to be involved in anyway.
Being stood up! Worse than cancelling.
I'm not sure if I have ADHD(or another form of it) since my family doesn't really belive in diagnosing that sort of stuff, but I have been resonating with a lot of ADHD content recently and I do plan on checking for it with a doctor when I am 18, so I hope my takes on these are all still valid because I can relate to this as well. For number 1, when I'm walking along my pace varies and sometimes I do walk very slow, other times I just wanna get from point A to point B and I will sprint if I have to. That and sometimes my pace makes a beat and when that rhythm is slowed down I almost feel like I'm lagging lol. For number 2, there have been a few times where that really does drive me up the wall, but often most plans that get cancelled are a breath of fresh air because I don't have to stress about it anymore. But, the opposite of this REALLY grinds my gears, when someone makes spontaneous plans and just expects me to bounce up. I'm okay with last minute cancels, but goddamn if you tell me "Oh by the way we have to lrave in 5 minutes, I forgot to tell you." Well... We aren't leaving on time 😂. For the third, I get called lazy a lot, and for a long time I did believe it until I heard the quote "Lazy people don't feel bad about being lazy" and that was a big eye opener. I relate to juggling so many projects to do that you judt get paralyzed just thinking about anything you have to do, and the longer you're paralyzed the more you worry and the more things are added to the pile. It's just a vicious cycle. The qorst part is when I finally muster the energy to just get one thing done, and the moment I get.up someone else tells me to do the exact thing I just got ready to do... Whyyyyyy 😭
My gods, that last sentence hit so hard 😢 Now they deprive me of feeling proud i finally mustered the energy to do it, and i really really need that. It keeps me going through my task list and making other little achievements.
Nunber one is not true for me, but I see your point. When I walk, I rarely have a point B where I need to be, so I can take all the time in the world and I do. But If I'm in a hurry, I get annoyed no matter the mode of transportation.
What you describe sounds more like a component of attachment disorder. But then, again, us psychodynamical geeks argue that some ADHD cases are related to - or are minor forms of attachment disorders.
Not true for all people with ADHD.
I don't know that I would describe it the way you did, but the sense you're conveying is true for me. Ive had people I was very close to at the time that I haven't talked to or really thought about in years. When something does remind me of them, I do feel a pang of sadness or something -- missing them -- but then something else draws my attention away and can go months or years more without thinking about them. It's not at all that I don't care about them, I just don't have the capacity to keep them in my active memory because I have so many other things to keep track of. But I also think that if I had a more boring and consistent life that I might think about those people more.
"Object permanence" is not the same as "out of sight, out of mind". Object permanence is a developmental stage for babies. Until they develop this, they actually believe something does not exist if they cannot see, but they don't forget about it immediately. If Mom goes out of the room, the baby might cry because they think mom is gone from existence. Out of sight out of mind is when you are likely to forget about something because you cannot see it. You know it exists and you can still think of it if your memory is jogged by something else. This is why I like to have visual reminders around my house as Q's for tasks and routines that need to be done regularly. It's why I remember to do the dishes and forget to take out the trash. That said.... I find that this can be true for me a lot! It's gotten to the point where I will forget to message people and I don't actually miss them like I feel like I'm supposed to and I feel like I'm a horrible person for it. But knowing someone else can relate to this is validating.
What he means is object consistency.
Not true, this applies to you but not all
This is wrong, please don't spread clinical misinformation based on anecdotal experiences
Same with watching the same programme or film. We enjoy predictability and the same song/film provides that x
Disagree. When you see something or hear something that reminds you of them, you remember them We obviously only focus on whats in front of us, but to say we don't miss people is not true..we just can go long periods where other things are taking up our time focus and experience
Don't get stuck on the phrasing. The point is that we'll forget to interact with people for indeterminate periods of time, and then when we DO interact with them, nothing has changed for us. What you said in your comment is literally the same thing he's saying, but with different words because you got emotionally stuck on the words he chose.
@@DrakeWurrum "What you said in your comment is literally the same thing he's saying," No, words matter.
I had not realized this was an ADHD thing. It explains a lot.
Your experience is not universal. Please don’t speak for others in this way.
I was diagnosed as low functioning years ago. Back in 01. Glad is addressing autism they should do more of it! Glad what was formerly Aspbugers is being addressed! Disney you can give families hope! Disney put political differences aside! As an autstict adult this makes my heart ❤️ happy 😊 ❤️
I’m actually relieved when people cancel. Because then I don’t have to go. But your first and third, absolutely.
@@levityoflonging22 thank you for sharing
I agree. Unless it's something I really looked forward to (certain real friends), I'm more relieved than annoyed!
People with adhd actually work much harder than neurotypicals
@@jenniferhizzy6591 thank you for sharing
But we have less to show for it...
Wow, I do that!!! No idea I was stimming!
Me too
Wtf? So? They're inferior to people without disabilities. Wow! They don't need to be told they can't do challenging activities and should stick to the easy stuff or lowering standards for them. Just lazy people who don't want to deal with then.
Applying geometry to solve real life problems
Perfect! Just what I’m looking for🥰🥰

Thanks for the video, I have a younger child and will check out the underground railroad game you suggested. Have you heard of, Freedom: The Underground Railroad game? It is for older kids, but integrates history well.
Hello. Thank you for checking out our channel. Mo I haven’t heard about that game but I’m going check it out!!! Have a great day 😃
I just came across your videos, what a gift!
Thank you for stopping by and taking the time to share your thoughts. Welcome!!!
I agree with you on this choice. Some Catholic Schools and some Christian schools do use this literature series. I have used it homeschooling for several years. I pick and choose from the book, like you do.
Thank you stopping by. I truly appreciate you sharing your experience. We are so similar. I pick & choose until this day.
