Maybe they said it to each other through their deep love for each other and words just were not needed. If you read the beautiful fanfiction stories ( just google Kate and Caroline fanfiction ) you will find great stories where they do say they love each other and Kate lives. Kate and Caroline and little flora live and love and the stories are beautiful. The stories also fill in the gaps and tell the thoughts of Kate and Caroline . There a re so many stories and they are beautiful.
